It's a fantastic resort to just relax and enjoy yourself, as the staff will take care of everything. If you need a PCR test, they reserve the time for you and remind you in advance via letters, same as with your time of departure and checkout time. The service from the staff is fantastic too - right from cleaning the room every day to perfection to being very friendly and helpful in the restaurant. The restaurant was great, we've never had a meal where at least something wouldn't be great - if you didn't like anything from the bar you could tailor something to your taste in the pasta station. You get fresh water in your room and can always get some in the bar too, so no need to worry about that. If you plan to drink alcohol often, suggest you go for all inclusive - a glass of wine or simple cocktail at the bar can be quite expensive, around 10$ for one. If you don't drink much really, you can just get the breakfast/lunch/dinner combo and spare some cash. If you plan to do any sports, the resort is also a great pick for that. There's a full tennis court, a smaller badminton/volleyball court, and a well equipped gym. Some other helpful tidbits which we came to know while we stayed there: - if you're not staying in a beach villa with a dedicated numbered sunbed, there's quite a few unlabeled ones at the beach, just look for one before you go to breakfast and reserve it with a towel - there's coffee and water available at the bar at all times, and some snacks every day too - those are usually prepared at 4 pm - they feed giant reef sharks (those aren't dangerous to us, supposedly) with leftovers at 5.30 pm every day next to the bar, which is a nice attraction to see Read less

We were disappointed by how expensive the excursions were and felt that they were overpriced for what they offered and therefore very poor value for money. Read less

First thing first as you may have read the title, I will tell the whole truth nothing but the truth so help me god. This is How it starts, after 20+ hours flight you thinking that someone will wait for you at the door? No, arriving at Male, you will see many people at the door holding signs with names, don't bother to search yours, instead walk towards the lobby where you will find Cinnamon Kiosks, where you will check-in for your seaplane or boat. Then you think great Im going to take the boat and get to my room, No, you have to wait for other people that came on a different flight. We had to wait almost 3 hours at the airport, no free Wifi, only the small cafe has a 2mps wifi for 30 minutes per day. Then you get on the boat 1 hour 30 minutes which we knew. Then check-in, no ceremony like other hotels or dance, just a 3oz juice, 2 aluminium bottle with your name printed on it, a huge all-inclusive bracelet, pay the boat fee, then direction to your room. We were really exhausted so we just wanted to get to our room, room was not facing west, for the sunset as requested, so we had to go back to the lobby for another hour to have another room ready. Finally the bungalow room, pleasant room, clean, amazing view, water, fresh linen, nice smell throughout the room. We then got hungry and went to the restaurant, although there are 2 restaurants on the island, you are attached to 1 and only 1, same thing for your table. They might give you a better table with a nicer view, but not before it was vacated by the predecessor. Our restaurant was the pool one, great view, comfy chairs. The Chef and staff are really helpful, they will check on you and try to please you, but the Buffet was the worst buffet we ever had, the same soup was served every morning, the pancake were crepes, the OJ was undrinkable, the Suchi were untouchable oh and Mimosas on Saturdays only! Now the Head Chef, checked on us, I know that he does his best with what he has so every time he will ask us How is everything we did not complain, except that 1 day the soup was burnt. The servers work everyday from Breakfast to Dinner, they are exhausted, so at some point, they will not even bother to bring you even water, but just bus and reset tables, we were at Ellaidhoo for 11 days, we saw them every time no day off for them either. The pool is nice, clean and fresh in the morning after 12pm the water gets hot, the bar is open but you will have to get up to order your drinks, if the bartender step away you will have to wait, they will bring you the drinks to your chair and chair only, because you cannot drink in the pool. The Beach is beautiful, but the relax chairs are mostly reserved to the beach houses, they were few ones without room numbers so we had to wake up at 7am to reserve ours, and we were off season. The hotel and the dive center offer excursions, they are pricey we ended up spending almost $700 just for 2 night snorkel, 2 dives, 2 phishing trip. Make sure you to bring your snorkeling equipment and gopro, the sealife by the island is amazing and you dont need a guide. The night life is good, you have a bar that play music until midnight, pool table, pingpong etc... Now we know that Ellaidhoo is entry point level to the Maldives, and we should lower our expectations, but the buffet is lower than a B&B, the staff is not rude but really unfriendly we're guessing that it might be cultural so we're not going to take it in consideration. We had 1 day of rain the TV was not working for 2 days, I called 3 times they sent someone every time, after I started to complain why don't they just change the box, they finally did. Before they will just unplug it, and telling me it has been fixed. The limitation of cocktails, the disgusting buffet and the numerous rules definitely are, and the way they treat their staff so unfairly, made us decide not to return to any Cinnamon hotels. Last, we did enjoy as much as we can our vacation, the environment is so beautiful that made us forget about everything. This is our truthfully review, and experience. Read less
