We stayed in a beach bungalow on the shadier / windier side of the island. This was fine for us as we spent most of our time Snorkeling. If you want the sun and the beach then try and get rooms between 301-312. There isn’t a lot of beach and the sea wall doesn’t add to the charm so the resort may not be for everyone. If you are into Snorkeling though then it really is worth visiting. The currents / wind can be quite strong so would say you need to be fairly confident in the water to get the most out of it. Turtles , mantas , eagle rays , nurse and big reef sharks all spotted. The best snorkelling is by the water villas although the most interesting coral formations are after the jetty. We did a night snorkel and it’s the best we’ve ever done , so much to see. The Snorkeling day trip to Maagda island was a complete waste of time. You visit a resort that’s been empty for years and there is nothing to see when you get in the water. The service on the whole was excellent and the food was your typical buffet fare. The room was great with a big outdoor bathroom. Most rooms appear to have been updated , loungers are all numbered except the ones at front of beach. Wifi is free through the resort and it’s pretty reliable. Read less

We visited this Island 12 years ago and decided to return as we prefer the smaller Maldivian Islands. They have built more rooms on the island since our visit, but we were not disappointed, it still has its natural laid back charm. We stayed in beach bungalows, which were amazing, spacious, really comfy huge bed and an open air bathroom, plus much needed air con. All food and drinks were exceptional. Felt very comfortable with Covid measures that were in place. Would definitely recommend the All Inclusive Package. We were there for New Year's Eve and the Gala Dinner was exceptional, plus there was a "Dessert Room" filled with the most beautiful sweet things you could imagine - Congratulations to the chefs. The Manager was a great guy, nothing was too much trouble for him. His cocktail party gave us a great in sight into what The Island is achieving regarding Eco matters. We were also shown around the workings of the resort - totally amazing!! We went on two boat trips, one to a deserted island and the other was Night Fishing. Both were brilliant experiences. We used The Spa - very relaxing experience. All The Staff are exceptional, very professional but also very friendly. Our waiter done an excellent job (Sorry we have forgotten your name). Damith (Aka Woody), from the Bar was such a lovely man (We miss you) and Chandana & Margaret from both Bars made sure we were always refreshed. The house reef is exceptional, snorkelling is second to none. Just want to say a Special Thank You from Frankie & Harper, they both had a holiday of their lifetime, not to mention the Waffles, Chips, Pizza + Nuggets!!!!! One last thing, it was so great to meet Jerry on NY's E. We met him 12 years ago on a different Cinnamon Island. Our thanks go out to all Manager's and Staff - we had such an amazing stay. Read less

Our long awaited holiday to the Maldives finally happened. We had not been before and chose Ellaidhoo as it was recommended for snorkelling and diving. We were blown away by how good the snorkelling was - it was like getting into an aquarium! So many fish, good water clarity, sharks! A good number of rays too. The accommodation we chose was an over water bungalow and this was lovely. Little touches were great, like a Bose bluetooth speaker in the room and great wi-fi everywhere. For a tiny island, there was a lot to do, with cookery demonstrations, evening entertainment, spa and gym, games room and various boat trips. The managers welcome drinks included an interesting talk about the changes they have made to become greener. There is a sewage treatment plant, desalination plant and they have all but eradicated plastic. They are growing some vegetables and a lot of herbs and use all of these in the cooking. All in all, forward thinking in ecological terms, great staff with the right attitude to work and to the customer, fantastic reef, good food and plenty of sun. What more could you want? Read less

We just got home from a two week vacation at Ellaidhoo By Cinnamon in the Maldives. The holiday has been absolutely fantastic and has felt very Corona safe. We would like to extend a special thank you to Irushad and his team consisting of Igbal, Shifan and Imad for fantastic service at all meals. My husband was courted with singing and gluten-free cake on his birthday which was a nice surprise. A special thanks to the pool guy (unfortunately forgot his name). He made sure it was nice and clean throughout the pool area. The sun loungers were disinfected every night. Salime made sure our water bungalow was cleaned daily. He also surprised with fine creations made from towels and flowers and leaves. The house reef was absolutely stunningly beautiful and there were new fish to discover daily. Taking seaplanes to the island is breathtakingly beautiful. The house reef is very beautiful and you get to see everything from sharks, rays, dolphins and a whole variety of fish in all the colors of the rainbow. The coral reef is beautiful and consists of both hard and soft corals. We hope to return to this paradise one day. Sincerely Sabine and Roger Dahlkvist. Read less
