The service, staffs (except few), and their policies are not up to the mark. I understand if their English is not good at all. But they can at least keep a print out with proper details of each packages!!! We took a full board meal plan, we understood that snacks were not included, soft drinks alcohol were not too. But water was not included either which itself is quite ridiculous: I went to many resorts never seen 3 meals inclusive package does not include drinking water. Even then it was okay,we can't do anything about it if it is their policy but they could not deliver that info properly. Dining staff are not sure which guests/tables took which packages, although each table is served by the same waiter every day, you have to tell them, rather explain them which package you are in; then they would discuss and tell you okay, you will get this, not that. After a while, you will get to know they were wrong!! So one waiter served us water saying full board plan does not include any soft drink, we said we know. then the next day he billed us for water, we were like why the bill; then he replied oh so sorry, he again gave a bill for coke only, we signed; so we did not sign the water bill, he also said his mistake. Then during the check out final bills they just included water bills which we did not even sign!! They can't bill anything without having their guests sign it!! We obviously paid 2.5usd each glass, but you can't bill someone without their signature!! And if we knew, we would have taken the water from our room which was complimentary! The staffs' behavior differs and that is so visible. If you are brown guests with less expensive packages they will treat you differently..I understand those guests who stay for 14days and spend 2000usd on diving (as one staff mentioned) bring more money you value them more.but I spent my hard earned money too and I can't give one star even for that kinda behavior and negligence. We booked sea plane, and we understood sea plane is managed by third party, resort cant do anything about it. But from my little understanding I can also understand that sea plane does not move only once in a day?! You arranged to send a couple around noon as they had emergency. and kept telling us that you know our flight schedule and we wont miss it, then again claiming the sea plane schedule can't be controlled, so we had to wait until it was too late. Surprisingly, we reached JUST on the boarding time. We requested several time on the day we arrived that we wanted to leave island on the departure day as soon as possible, even we were ready to check out early! Also, it does not take 25minutes to reach airport by sea plane. it takes 7 to 10 mints to get to the sea plane by boat, then moving with luggage to the plane takes more 5mints, then 15mints to reach the dock, then waiting for the bus, then again travelling quite a time (too frustrated to time that) to reach airport, then wait for the luggage few more mintues. We started 5.25 from the island, reached at 6.40 at the airport. So, you should not misinform cause we were still hoping if we could reach by 6 at least, we had one hour to go by our plan!! We wanted to leave asap after departure. We could not as I mentioned.it was so hot we just were resting in the reception. The manager lady came in and asked us to move 'nicely' because they had arrival guests coming.being myself an arrival guests many places in my country and in the world I accommodated my sitting places, but never had I have the experience of someone telling me to move for their arrival guests as soon as I check out!! We obviously moved although there were PLENTY of places to sit!!! This is not a big deal. But as I said before the attitude!! The room, cleanliness, the aqua life and maintenance to keep them healthy, and snorkeling guides (along with all water activities) are remarkable. But I can't give stars for their services as that is equally important to me when I am spending whole lot of money. I regret booking this resort, I rather went for the well known ones which are frequently suggested by friends and family and spent this 3000USD at some places which would have better services and stuff. I kinda thing it was also our fault as we wanted less commercial and crowded one, but did not know less commercial can turn up less efficient services. Otherwise, the island itself, the rooms and their maintenance and water activities are good. Read less

All rooms are recently renovated, we thought it would be a bit old and outdated. Because the pictures on the website (and Tripadviser) are not updated yet. It was a nice surprise to see that the rooms look better in real life. The food was much better than expected, I have to admit that my expectations were not that high. But the most positive was the extremly helpful and friendly staff. Only the Diveschool staff (not a part of the hotel if I'm correct) could have been a bit more enthusiastic. Did their job well, nothing less, but definitly nothing more. We had a very good experience, and I think for the Maldives the hotel is very good value for money. Pro's: Reef, weather, lack of insects, friendly staff, beach, food. Con's: Sometimes they burn waste on the island. Occasionally we had to sit on a different part of the Island because of the smell. Eventually we complained about it. The staff helped us with a solution that was to our liking. Read less

4 of us stayed in 2 rooms for 12 nights here and it was amazing. It was our favourite trip to the Maldives so far and recommend this island to anybody who wants a good snorkel. Rooms 5/5 rating = rooms were spacious, so clean and high spec. The air conditioning works very powerfully and there is a big TV. The bed was so comfortable and I wish I knew the make so I could buy one for myself (perhaps management could let me know!) Pool 4/5 rating = pool man was nice and helpful, big pool but not that deep only 1.3m so had to kneel or squat to be covered. Although it is an infinity pool with an amazing view. Staff 5/5 rating = all staff will greet you when passing by which is nice and a big shout out to our waiter sobah. He was very helpful and nice to see his amazing snorkelling photos he shared with us. Also a shoutout to Vipal who was very friendly. Entertainment 2/5 rating = only entertainment about 3 or 4 of the nights and it was only a man with a guitar singing. There was a beach party but came with a 15$ charge per person, where it really should be free so we didn’t attend. Plus it was only for 2 hours. I suppose this is a snorkel/dive focus island so people go to bed early and wake up early. Food 3/5 rating = breakfast had wide variety but dinner wasn’t the best. The beef and pork were very fatty so just avoided them the entire time. Other islands have better selection and quality for example ice cream selection was only 2 flavours a night rotation between vanilla, strawberry and chocolate but other islands have sorbets with different flavours every night. Reef 5/5 rating = best reef ever, saw everything and more, nice to see lots of corals but some bits have been bleached. Sharks, rays, eels, schools of fish it was amazing. Under the water bungalows you will find baby sharks and one bungalow had 7 stingrays underneath it. Pros of the island: - amazing reef - Fantastic rooms and staff - Good gym area - Nice big pool - Great manta excursion Cons of the island: - Expensive excursions e.g 107$ inc tax for manta trio - Charging for entertaining (beach party) - Delay on speed boat when leaving, management chasing customers to pay bills at the very last minute which should have been sorted out earlier. This left us on the boat for 20 min and when stationary it sways a lot. - Double standards for the pool, some people told they can’t wear a t shirt and had to buy 56$ rash vests from the shop but some people allowed to wear t shirts in the pool, should be the same rules-for everyone. Overall an amazing holiday with so many memories, I will never forget this holiday and already want to come back. Read less

As with all holidays you weigh up the pros and cons, we love this little Island it was our third visit and we will visit again. If you love snorkelling this is the Island for you. Here are the pros & cons as we see them. Pros House reef is improving although still some dead coral much is now coming back to life, we found the best area behind the water bungalows there are plenty of fish and turtles. We requested by email prior to arriving at the Island a beach villa near to the pool as I swim a lot. Thank you Ellaidhoo they arranged this & we had a lovely room, kept spotless by the room boy. There is some night entertainment, the singers were very enjoyable - the Dj during our first week played some head banglingly loud music not really appropriate for the Maldives but during the second week he played music more appropriate for the audience and we danced with some other guests. The managers cocktail party was really appreciated as it meant that guests mingled & got to know each other better. All staff are an asset to Ellaidhoo, very friendly, polite & helpful. Saman the pool attendant was great & full of useful information. Nihad our waiter was very attentive. We booked through travelbag and had wifi included it worked well during our holiday. Cons There are better all inclusive packages on other Islands - some include soft drinks from the mini bar & have a better range of alcohol that said the wine was perfectly acceptable. The food in the restaurant was a bit hit & miss. The curry selection is a little dissapointing for e.g. I tried the potato & drumstick curry one evening - the drumstick was a type of vegetable that wasn't edible (very stringy) so really it was potato curry. The hot selection of pudding was always sponge but whatever the flavour it always tasted the same. The chairs in the main restaurant are very uncomfortable. Mosquitoes are a problem even though the Island is fogged daily. Make sure you take plenty of insect repellant. The Island accepts visiting guests on day trips from other Islands - these guests may take many of the sunbeds over at the pool on occasions & can become noisy, possibly annoying other guests posing for photos and genrally getting in the way. Suggestions A tip box at both bars for your waiters who do an excellent job. It would be a good idea to request guests take their used plastics home with them at the begining of the holiday not at the end when they have possibly already discarded them into the bin. Read less
