The snorkeling experience was truly unforgettable, as I had the chance to encounter majestic sea turtles swimming gracefully in their natural habitat. Additionally, I must express my gratitude to our butler, Nicole, and Shimaau, who greeted us every morning. Their attentive service made us feel right at home, adding to the overall enjoyment of our stay. Thank you both for making our vacation such a memorable experience. Read less

I was impressed by Butler ELITE's careful and friendly service, the staff of all the restaurants were kind, especially the TOM of the Carnivorous restaurant, who was friendly and humorous to my child. My son was very satisfied and he hoped the sea plane couldn't take off :) My family made the great memories with EMERALD-FAARUFUSHI.

We were on Faarufushi for 15 nights in mid-April 2024. This was our 24th vacation in the Maldives and to say it up front, this resort is - despite a few weaknesses - one of our top 5. We booked a Superior Water Villa with Pool because it is at the end of the jetty and therefore supposedly quieter. The pictures on the internet match the furnishings of the villa. Unfortunately, this is not (or no longer) the case for the outdoor area. It would be nice if the pictures on the homepage on the Internet and in the brochures were updated. The fact that this has not happened so far is probably due to the fact that the view from the sun deck into the water can only be described as horrible. The reason for this is that 7, relatively very high, breakwaters have now been built directly around the villas at the end of the jetty. At least 3 of the breakwaters are always visible from the Superior Water Villas with Pool. They look as if submarines had surfaced there. Even if it is necessary, it's not a pretty sight, and a lot of the Maldives feeling is lost. Incidentally, no breakwaters were visible on Google Maps at the time we booked our trip. Now the pictures from 2024 show the breakwaters. Well, despite some experience, we fell for it. You also have to be aware that the buggies turn at the end of the jetty and this can be annoying at times - especially at 7:30 in the morning when you are still lying in bed with your head facing the jetty and you feel as if the buggy is passing right next to you. It would help a lot if drivers would reduce their speed as soon as they reach the supply house. But that should be the end of the "negative" reporting. We didn't go on vacation just to complain about something. We got rid of what is described here on the island and that's enough. All in all, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed our vacation to the fullest. We had an excellent meal in all the restaurants. The choice of dishes was huge, as were the drinks. It's clear that not everyone likes everything, but anyone who doesn't find anything here or thinks they have to complain is welcome to do so. In my opinion, however, it lacks foundation and reality. Even if we wanted something off the menu or had a special request, it was brought to us and we had the feeling that the crew actually enjoyed fulfilling our wishes. This, and especially the interpersonal contact with the extremely friendly and lovable staff, makes the vacation unforgettable. For us, it is essential to interact with the staff and other guests. This starts with a "Good morning" to everyone we meet on the way to breakfast and ends with a "Good night" on the way to the villa at night. We don't care whether it's the hard-working women raking up the leaves or the technicians on their way to work, or the room boys who set out to restore the guests' rooms to an acceptable condition. Time and again, we have experienced that our greeting was returned in a friendly manner and we left with a friendly smile. Unfortunately for us, not all guests feel or react this way, even though many greeted us in a friendly manner after we spoke to them. However, we also observed in the restaurants that couples preferred to use their cell phones rather than talk to each other and didn't even put their phones down to eat. We found it particularly distressing when guests more or less ignored the staff when the food was brought and didn't even respond to a friendly "Thank you for visiting us" or "Have a nice day" and left the restaurant without saying a word. Hey guys, you're in paradise so why not enjoy it without a smartphone and relax with your loved ones? OK, maybe that's old-fashioned ... Of course, we have a small advantage because we speak a few words in the local language Divehi and thus attract the attention of the Maldivians. But you can speak to any member of staff in English, and as a guest you should always be able to use English for the so-called polite phrases. For us, the Maldives have become a "home away from home" and we found it very enriching to be able to talk to the staff and have fun with them. To our regret, we no longer remember all the names and it might therefore be considered a little unfair if we simply do not mention some names below. Nonetheless, these employees will remain in our memories just as much as the employees we remember by name. We would especially like to thank all the staff who work in the background to ensure that we guests feel at home. When we arrived on the island, we were picked up by Ms. Ting, our villa host. Over the days, a very friendly relationship developed between us. Unfortunately, we only had dinner together one evening, but we enjoyed it very much. We would like to thank the management of Faarufushi for making this possible as well as Ting for taking the time to join us for dinner. It was a very entertaining and nice evening. We had an extremely friendly room service with Mr. Irman, who looked after us carefully and lovingly in our villa. We have already experienced at some resorts that the room service, outside of their normal activities, ensures that guests feel comfortable in their villas. Irman, however, surpasses all previous experiences. The things he "made" for us in his free time to decorate our villa deserve the highest recognition and for us he is the “Housekeeper of the Month” for April. In the restaurants, run by Chef Moreno, we really enjoyed talking to Aalim, Aktolkyn, Ali, Appel, Bona, Fernando, Inaadh, Joseph, Khalid, Mijgona, Mohamed, Nabeel, Oriana, Priyanka and Shimaau, among others. We felt lovingly looked after by them and wanted for nothing. To summarize: Would we come back for our vacation on Emerald Faarufushi. Definitely YES! - especially when we get our permanent residence card on the occasion of our 25th visit to the Maldives. @Khalid, I don't want to put any pressure regarding this issue, but it's up to you to organize it with the immigration authorities... :-)) Read less
