Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa

I recently had the opportunity and pleasure to visit the Emerald Resort and Spa. On arrival we were welcomed to the island and then driven around by our personal assistant Hasir. Hasir gave us insight into all of the activities and places to dine and enjoy during the stay. Hasir was a pleasure to deal with and so were the rest of the outstanding staff at the Emerald Resort. If you want a very relaxing and enjoyable experience then I highly recommend travelling to the Emerald resort and spa. The accommodation is 1st class with a beautiful and large bedroom and a huge ensuite that has a shower and bath . One of the best parts about these rooms besides the view over the water was a well thought out walk in wardrobe. The room had plenty of storage space and had enough room to lay down 2 suitcases that were both open. Something that not enough hotels offer. Staff would come multiple times a day to clean turn down beds or place bottles of water and clean glasses on your bedside table. All the staff were very friendly and quick to accommodate any requests. Besides the pristine water, coral 🪸 sands and many water activities to enjoy make sure you book into the Emerald resorts Spa. I highly recommend the Signature massage as I found it 90 minutes of pure bliss. The resort comes with multiple places to enjoy dinner at and I was lucky enough to dine at all 4 restaurants each had their own highlights. Breakfast each morning looking over the beach included many fine choices from freshly cut fruits, omelettes and so much more. The friendly staff could not have looked after you any better. And it was at breakfast where I met one of the chefs Sathish . Sathish was very helpful like many of the other chefs in explaining the dishes he had at his station. And encouraging you to try some of his tasty delights. An amazingly relaxing holiday had to come to an end and Wishham had taken over looking after us after Hasir . I cannot fault the efforts of Hasir and Wisham in giving the best experience that the Emerald can offer and am thankful that I had the opportunity to experience some wonderful days in the Maldives. We’ve just returned from an 11 night stay at Emerald. Like many others, we had done a huge amount of research before deciding on our resort - with the TripAdvisor reviews being a huge deciding factor. In our view, Emerald fully deserves every one of the many 5 star reviews and recent awards they get… the whole experience was beyond amazing. Every step from arriving at Male to boarding our return flight was expertly handled by the Emerald team. The island itself is stunning - perfectly set amongst the tropical landscape, each room benefits from views of the crystal clear water and the whole resort is immaculately clean (the housekeeping and landscaping teams never stop). The facilities were truly first class - every Restaurant serves a wide variety of delicious food prepared and delivered by a sensational team, with a huge range of drinks available throughout the resort including an unparalleled Wine List and cocktail menu (you have to try all of the Emerald specialities at the Sunset bar). KD has a great team and is constantly talking to the guests and ensuring everything is perfect! With regards to wellness, the gym and sports courts are of a really high quality, the beach is full of pure white sand and an incredible amount of seating so you are never short of somewhere to relax and take in the views. The Spa is a haven and provide such a great service - thanks to Diyan and Ayu for taking care of us. As inexperienced snorkelers, the House Reef was perfect - not only was the marine life breathtaking (so many different species of fish complimented by a few sharks minding their own business!), but it gave us huge confidence for our Turtle snorkelling experience… this really is an experience and a real “must” in our view. Emerald’s Marine Biologist Giullia and the whole TGI team are wonderful and run great excursions that allow you to experience some of the most amazing marine life in their natural habitats along with a variety of motorised and non motorised watersports. The rooms are huge - we had an Overwater villa with Pool for part of our stay and a Superior Water Villa for the remainder. Both rooms are spacious, clean and stocked full of everything you need - with the most amazing views (we saw dolphins, sharks and numerous fish from our decks… particularly at night when fish and sharks are attracted by the decking lights). Without doubt though, the best part of Emerald is the people. Genuinely the warmest most accommodating team we have ever encountered. Each one will take care of you, make you laugh, share details on Maldivian culture, the island itself or indeed their own life experiences - every moment a fascinating and enjoyable encounter. Although we don’t have an exhaustive list of all the amazing people we met, we do want to mention a few stand-out team members that made our trip truly exceptional: Aqua Perla - the brightest start to every day… constantly smiling, offering you new and unexpected food. Looking forward to seeing you in the UK soon! Amazonico Samaah - Our waiter on our first night and a constant friendly face throughout our stay at breakfast and dinner, teaching us about his Maldivian life / local islands and sharing stories/videos about Maldivian tuna finishing traditions. Chef Jimmy - not only produces sensational food, but made our Honeymoon Dinner on the beach extra special by arranging for us to try the Steak Pichana… was delicious and a lovely gesture Beach Club Grill Ravi - the best service and funniest one liners, Giri - doesn’t stop smiling and would always make sure to come and say hello (even on our last night when he was having an evening off), Luza - the warmest of welcomes every time and Jailam who brought us over cold towels when seeing we were visibly struggling with the heat and knew the best table to sit us at to take advantage of the sea breeze Le Asiatique Nitin - such a warm and friendly person… made sure we had the best time Prakash - honestly the best wok / stir fry meal I have ever had. Phenomenal food and chef. Kuttan - our Teppanyaki chef. Great food and entertainment Sunset Bar The whole team here are great - Alim, Antony and Yash… great drinks and made sure our days lasted well into the evening! Ali - not only runs a great bar, but designed personal cocktails for us and even went to the trouble of printing the recipe for my favourite one on our final evening! Totally above and beyond! Sommeliers This really sets Emerald apart from other resorts we have been to, and the team are amazing. Jeevs, Shivam, Jitendra and Prakash introduced me to some great wines, always made sure our glasses were full and taught us loads along the way - always with a smile Vickas, Rahul, Loki and team who arranged our Honeymoon dinner. A truly memorable meal with first class service Finally a special mention to the buggy drivers… unfortunately we didn’t manage to catch all their names, but Viam was one of our regular drivers and is one of the friendliest people you will meet. The team are always there to greet you with a smile and quickly remember your villa number after only a couple of days. We returned to the Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, our second visit since 2021. Once again, we were reminded that this place is a true paradise, where meticulous attention to detail shines through in every aspect of service, and where one can forget everything left behind. And Again, our holiday was made even more special by the care and dedication of the resort staff. Not to detract from the entire team, but some well deserved special mention. Our Housekeeper, Ramatey, ensured our Villa was always impeccable, displaying great attention to detail and creating marvelous shapes of animals with the bath towels: dogs, turtles, monkeys! And he was especially proud of his service. Excellent work. At the Aqua restaurant, Perla, with his contagious energy, made every meal more interesting by providing a wealth of information about the food, the different dishes available, the ingredients...So enthusiastic. Chef Jimmy at the Amazonico was the highlight of our evenings! Shanoon was impeccable in serving tables at the Asiatique and Aqua. Ahmed, the bartender with his unforgettable smile, crafted exceptional cocktails that enhanced our beach sunsets, making every evening a unique experience. The Sommeliers, Jeevs and Shivam, led us through an exceptional wine selection, demonstrating deep knowledge and a passion for their craft. Always ready to refill our glasses! And, of course, the incredible Alessia, our host from 2021 who made us truly feel like we were coming back home, always ready to assist with a smile and a solution for every need. We cannot forget Chef Aldo, whose culinary talent has proven to be one of the resort's strengths. The food at Emerald Fasmendhoo is extraordinary. Exchanging a few words with him is always a pleasure. Together, they made our second stay at the Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa an unforgettable experience, confirming it as a place of exceptional beauty and relaxation, where the guest is the focus of every attention.
