Hammock Cove Antigua: A Luxurious Retreat That Feels Like Home After our sixth visit to Hammock Cove Antigua, this time for an extended three-week stay, it’s safe to say this resort continues to amaze us with its commitment to exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and thoughtful touches. A Celebration to Remember: This trip was especially meaningful as we celebrated my wife’s 45th birthday. The staff went above and beyond, creating unforgettable surprises and a special dinner that made her feel cherished. Their attention to detail was simply unmatched. Spotless Villas and Exceptional Staff: The villas are immaculate, with every detail carefully attended to. The cleaning staff are warm, professional, and always willing to accommodate any needs. The nightly turndown service is a lovely touch, adding to the overall sense of comfort and relaxation. Ambassadors Who Made the Difference: Kenya, Javon, and Javier were phenomenal as our dedicated Ambassadors throughout the stay. They anticipated our every need, making each moment feel seamless and special. On occasions when they were assisting other guests, Leon and Sheldon stepped in effortlessly to ensure that we were always taken care of. The teamwork and professionalism displayed by this group truly set Hammock Cove apart. Exceptional Morning Team: Every morning, Brittania, Tascia, Azia, Linda, Conitha, Renato, Tyra, and Mark ensured that all our needs were met with warmth and care. Their dedication to excellent service made every day start on a high note. While we usually have the pleasure of being greeted by Mr. Rob Barrett, the proprietor of Hammock Cove, during our stays, he was out of the country on this visit. His presence is always a highlight, as he takes great pride in ensuring his guests feel welcome and valued. Accommodations Tailored to You: One of the many standout features of Hammock Cove is its ability to tailor the experience to your preferences, even before you arrive. Whether you have specific food allergies, dietary requirements, or drinking preferences, the team ensures every detail is noted and accommodated. For us, as non-drinkers, they made sure our villa was stocked with Coke Zero, Diet Coke, and Diet Dr. Pepper, and provided creative mocktail options throughout our stay. Breakfast and Lunch Delights: Breakfast and lunch at Hammock Cove are consistently remarkable. Gabriel added a delightful touch to our mornings, creating beautiful drawings on our cappuccinos that brought a smile to our faces each day. Guests can enjoy a traditional Antiguan breakfast or an omelet, and the team is always happy to customize dishes upon request. Lunch features a delightful mix of local flavors, typically including a meat dish and a seafood option, often a fresh local catch. Chef Audrey and Sylvester go above and beyond to ensure every meal is perfect and are always ready to accommodate special requests. A Culinary Experience to Remember: The pizza and calamari are must-tries, made fresh and in-house. The hams are sourced from Spain, featuring Iberico pigs, and the cheeses are imported, which explains their exceptional taste. I always ask Chef Marco about the ingredients because the flavors are so outstanding. Chef Marco’s dedication to excellence is evident not only in the dishes but also in his personal touch—he makes it a point to visit guests during breakfast, lunch, and dinner to ensure everything is up to their standards. Exceptional Beach Staff: The beach team was nothing short of amazing. A big thank you to Julio, who taught me to sail and helped me gain confidence on the Hobie Cat, which I ended up taking out every day. Tevin, Osibia, Zack, and Jaden also provided outstanding service, ensuring every moment by the beach was enjoyable and stress-free. Their warmth and expertise made the beach experience a highlight of our trip. Dining at The Lighthouse: The dining experience at The Lighthouse is nothing short of spectacular. Chef Marco’s menu changes daily, and all pasta is made in-house, showcasing the team’s commitment to quality and creativity. The wait staff—Desa, Collett, Sofia, Feb, and Castillo—are remarkable. They are incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and provide excellent guidance, helping us make the perfect selections each evening. The team executes Chef Marco’s vision flawlessly, ensuring every meal is memorable. Guests are greeted by the wonderful Maître d’ and host, Troy, whose warm demeanor sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Culinary Delights Beyond The Lighthouse: Sushi Night at Irina’s (Monday): A showcase of fresh, flavorful sushi in a relaxed atmosphere. 7-Course Meal (Wednesday): A culinary journey of innovative flavors and artistry. Cooking Demonstrations: Chef Marco’s Wednesday sessions are both educational and entertaining, offering insight into his creative process and providing a delicious experience. Exceptional Drinks and Bar Service: Joel, the Beverage Manager, is incredibly attentive and went out of his way to create delightful mocktails for us when he bartended at The Lighthouse. His skill as a mixologist turned every mocktail into a special treat. Nigel, who serves as the day bartender at Irina’s during lunch, and Kiev, both impressed us with their exceptional cocktail-making expertise, ensuring every drink—alcoholic or non-alcoholic—was perfectly crafted. Refined Atmosphere: The Lighthouse maintains an elegant ambiance with its evening dress code, requiring long trousers, collared shirts, and closed-toed shoes for men. This thoughtful detail enhances the fine dining experience and adds to the resort's sophisticated charm. Why We’ll Always Return: Hammock Cove Antigua continues to redefine luxury, offering world-class amenities, breathtaking surroundings, and a team that truly cares about their guests. From the outstanding Ambassadors and amazing beach team to Samantha’s exceptional assistance with excursions and Chef Marco’s personal touches, every detail is handled with care and precision. Please don’t let any negative comments from others deter you—Hammock Cove is a truly wonderful place to relax and unwind. This trip, filled with moments like my wife’s birthday celebration, tailored accommodations, mocktail evenings, and culinary delights, has left us eagerly counting down the days until our next visit. This is a lovely place but has a long way to go in my opinion. The access road is appalling, the hugest potholes ever! This is a lovely place but has a long way to go in my opinion. The access road is appalling, the hugest potholes ever! You are greeted by an ambassador who takes you in the bar for a drink whilst he takes your luggage to your villa. We had a villa which was overlooking the bay with its own private pool. The villa had full amenities, the double shower was HUGE. The minibar was complimentary and restocked daily with some alcohol and soft drinks. Tea and coffee was available. The outdoor terrace was huge, my only criticism there is that the outdoor beds are hard and sooo uncomfortable, we couldn't use them/. There are paddle-boards and kayaks which were also free to use. My main bugbear was the food/restaurants. There are 2 restaurants, The Lighthouse and The Bistro (where you have breakfast). I had forgotten to pack my husbands long trousers so we weren't allowed to go in the lighthouse at all so we had to go in the bistro every night!! The menu was burgers and pizza which we endured all week. There is a menu for late snacks which starts at 11pm, I asked our ambassador if I could just get a grilled cheese sandwich at 7pm because I just couldnt tolerate another burger and he said that he would try and BEG THE CHEF - I did get one but when you are paying literally thousands and thousands of dollars this is not the treatment you expect!! Another example - on the Tuesday night it was sushi night - we hate sushi so went to the bistro for another burger!! We were told that we weren't allowed to sit at a table (in the empty restaurant) as there were chopsticks on the table!!, we were told that we had to sit at the bar to eat - I have never felt so embarrassed or awkward in my life with drinkers staring. The final straw came when it was time to check out - we called the ambassador to get someone to help us with our luggage - he said no because it was raining!!!! But it was ok for us to get wet through to go to the airport to sit on a plane for 11 hours!!!!! The only nice person there was a lovely lady called Linda - honest - just one! I would not go there again Read less

Any negative reviews on this site are just very picky people. We just got back from celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and we had the best time. We went with our sister and brother-in-law who also were celebrating an anniversary. The people of Antigua are the friendliest people and the workers at Hammock Cove are top notch. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to assist us and to make sure we were having a great time. Our ambassadors Leon and Delarno were so attentive and kind. It is amazing with how many couples they are ambassadors for that they remembered so much detail about us and our "likes." I teased them that they were almost too attentive because I was going to expect this service when I got home now! Completely spoiled us. The food was excellent. One of our servers Sophia went above and beyond for us. The rooms were amazing and you could have easily stayed in there all week. If you are looking for wild entertainment throughout the night, this is not the place for you but if you are looking for peace, quiet, kindness, luxury, and relaxation this is #1. We were so sad to leave but are already talking about when we can return. First trip to Hammock Cove but definitely not the last. Worth every penny! P.S. I highly recommend the catamaran snorkeling trip that goes out of Hammock Cove. Captain and Bam Bam were the absolute most fun. Read less

Instead, there were shelves. If you have any walking disability, this is not the resort for you. To get to the beach involves many many steps. The same situation applies to the Lighthouse restaurant where you have to climb up 25 steps. The Lighthouse restaurant has excellent dinner food and the restaurant manger, Troy, and the head chef made sure that my wife's food allergies were taken into consideration each time we visited Lighthouse. The food at the breakfast restaurant was also good, although at times the service seemed very slow. Read less

March 2024 was our second vacation to Hammock Cove. It is such a wonderful luxury resort that we have already booked vacation number three there for March 2025. It is an amazing resort to just relax, spend time with your spouse, be treated like royalty and enjoy the fabulous views! You will also make life long friends with other guest and staff! The moment you arrive, all your senses will experience the beauty around you. During your stay you will enjoy the luxurious rooms with your own private infinity edge plunge pool and 24/7 room service with your personal ambassadors. Thanks to Leon and Sheldon~ you are the best!! In the evening you can indulge in Michelin level dining at the Lighthouse. Thank you to Chef Marco for taking care of our special needs! Other gratitude goes to Collete for such amazing assistance and your friendship at the lighthouse, Linda and Tasscia for greeting us each morning for breakfast at Irina's with big beautiful smiles! Gabriel for the best cappuccinos ever! Alex, the operations manager, made sure our vacation was perfect and every detail was taken care of. The staff at Hammock Cove are so very friendly and go above and beyond. They just seem genuinely happy to help you. We were greeted by the owner, Rob Barrett, at breakfast one morning. He takes the time to greet guest and staff to make sure your vacation is a great experience. He owns multiple resort properties on the island and has created a perfect luxury boutique resort at Hammock Cove. The pool and beach are phenomenal, with food and drink service daily. They have all the water toys for your enjoyment and will teach you how to use, if needed. We suggest researching the Hammock Cove website for more comprehensive information about the resort as, there are too many wonderful things to cover in this review. Each time we have booked our trip, Katrina Lindsey, from Elite Island Resort Management team has been absolutely wonderful to work with! We can not recommend her highly enough! Hammock Cove has become a very special place for both of us and we can not wait for our next trip to our home away from home!! Read less
