Only exception to this was one of the reception staff who was quite rude We loved the beach area and Fenton was fantastic. We sailed and snorkelled. The Hobie Cat was fun to sail. There weren’t enough beach loungers and they got reserved quite early in the day. Possibly the management could give some thought to encouraging use of the other beaches which were deserted. How about another bar in Honeymoon Cove? Our expectations of the food were not that good having read the reviews, but we really enjoyed the food and drinks. The buffet food was kept hot and was tasty. Lunch at SeaGrapes was great with lovely salads. There seemed to be a shortage of restaurant staff at times. Our biggest disappointment was our room… we had paid for Superior SeaView room but it was tucked in behind the SeaGrapes bar with a very restricted view. Most of the block was a building site (not operational) and the maintenance yard was next door which was noisy. The room had not been upgraded and was terrible in comparison to other Superior SeaView rooms. Read less

This is a lovely place. Not only the setting but the people who work there. There are too any to mention but from the top the bottom, they are fabulous. One should get a mention though. Mr entertainer and possible Bond Villain-Fenton. He covers the sailing, beach towels, painting and a disco twice a week.

See photos for the difference between the advertised sea view room & what the reality is (if u look closely between the chairs and roof of cafe u can see the sea)! Do not book through an airline! Only direct bookers get ice rooms & water (not joking)!

It feels as if you become part of a big family the minute you arrive with so many guests returning regularly and being welcomed back by the loyal staff base. The water sports guys were great- really helpful and supportive of everyone using the water sport equipment and Fenton even doubling up as DJ on two evenings per week when he will get you up to dance. I suggest you watch the promotional video to ensure it is right for you but we would definitely go back. Thank you Hawksbill Read less

We had a lovely two week holiday but there were a few things we weren’t happy with. We had booked directly with the hotel but the only advantage was the minibar being filled every day though we had to ask three times for this before it happened. We had a superior sea view room and we spoke to several people who had booked directly or with other companies (Virgin, British Airways) who were upgraded but we were not. We found the front desk staff quite rude and dismissive and on arrival we received no drink which I noticed other people had. The room was ok though the keys seemed to fit any room so make sure you lock valuables in your safe. We had someone come into our room using their key and we mistakenly entered another room using our’s. There are no wardrobes, only a hanging rail, and no mirror apart from the bathroom. During our first week service in the main restaurant was not good. We often had to go to the bar ourselves as we couldn’t get a glass of wine. By 8 pm a lot of the food trays were empty and weren’t refilled. The choice for vegetarians was awful but after speaking to the Assistant Manager, Mario, things improved. However, the bbq was all meat. By the second week the hotel became a lot busier and the restaurant choices improved. The sea was quite rough a lot of the time and so the pool was busy and during the second week all beds were reserved by 7.30 am. There were also no drinks available around the pool and we either had to walk down to the Sea Grapes bar or wait for a waiter. The thing that makes the hotel special is the location. Most of the rooms have a lovely sea view. The water sports are plentiful and the staff are wonderful. We took out kayaks, went snorkelling and went out with Fenton on a Hobiecat (just as a huge rainstorm arrived but it added to the fun though Fenton wasn’t happy!) . All of the staff (apart from front of desk) were fantastic. So overall the hotel was a bit disappointing but the location and staff made up for it. We are still undecided about returning but I don’t think we would book directly as there seemed to be no advantage. Read less
