The hotel

Following a multi-million dollar renovation, the All Inclusive Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall offers a huge range of room options, all with gorgeous views of the surrounding tropical gardens or the ocean. You can even choose a room with direct pool access or upgrade to Club Level for special privileges. Tucked between the mountains and the sea, it’s hailed as a paradise of rest, relaxation and recreation and rightly so! Prepare yourself for 'Service from the Heart!' — a genuine warm Jamaican welcome and service with a smile. For something a little special, head to the spa for a relaxing massage or body wrap. Whilst you do, the kids can play with other youngsters at their very own club, building sandcastles or getting stuck into some arts and crafts. With regards to restaurants, you’ll find plenty on your doorstep — at the Ziva, there’s a whole range of world cuisines to choose from! Visit Italy one night, Brazil the next and Asia when the mood takes you. We doubt very much you’ll be homesick but if you are, head to Union Jack’z — an English tavern that not only serves pub favourites but also features live music too. Alternatively, sip on cocktails on the rooftop at the Moroccan-inspired Fez.

Kevin who manages the buffet restaurant was a delight - he ran the breakfast well in spite of the fact that the hotel was packed for spring break and the kids loved him. Our butlers Kerrian. Toni-Ann and JahMarley took excellent care of us and saw that things ran smoothly. The pool was large and lovely - bring your own volleyball bcs the resort never seems to have one even though there is a net in the pool. The pool is nicer than the beach area. The beach is a little strange - kind of rocky and not that easy to swim in because it is so shallow. I would say the food was somewhere between okay and good. The kids loved the pastry and ice cream bar for little treats and the jerk chicken was pretty good. The Asian restaurants were miserable experiences IMO. The food was sub par and they were completely filled with smoke from the grill. I have never seen anything like that. Read less

The staff was amazing! The food was delicious! The experience started from the time my driver took me from the airport to the hotel. The hotel has a lounge in the airport that will provide round trip transportation from the airport to the hotel at a small cost. Checkin was easy. First family vacation after the great Covid and Hyatt Ziva lived up to its expectation. This is live review and writing this on the last day. Stayed at Room #2442 1) Rooms - Clean and well kept. Washrooms were neat. We had the ocean facing room and had a balcony. Bed was good. Pillows are plenty. AC was working well. Note: There is a difference between ocean facing and ocean front. Check the hotel pictures. 2) Food & drinks - My family are picky eaters but Hyatt Ziva had wide collection for everyone in family. Kids have plenty to choose from. The best ones are the la cartes, Pizza shop and the famous Jerk hut Buffet. Grindz coffee is the best and the afternoon staff is amazing. Bites candy bar is also good for kids and sweet tooth fans. Compared all the ones I mentioned, this Choicez buffet is last on the list. The chefs are tried and not friendly so will take forever for omlets etc. Drinks and everyone who worked at the bar are amazing. 3) Activities & Entertainment - There is always lot going around. Check the website for all the details ahead. 4) Beach - If you are a beach lover, then you will be disappointed. There is not a lot of beach or you cannot even do a good walk you can take. But for us, this was a blessing as the beach is very kids friends (surrounded by rocks) and we knew this so it worked out great. Other things 1) Service at choicez is a hit or miss. Somedays we had good waiters while other day it was meh. It did not ruin our mood. Waiters at La carte are very good and nice. 2) One day, they let us know that there will not be no water or AC. This ran from 1o to 5:00 PM. We are out most of the day but towards the end it was annoying. The reason this did not became a big deal was Hyatt offered 200 resort credit for all the guest that were impacted. We got the credit the last day so we spend everything at the shops. Most others rented the cabanas etc. Also they allowed us to stay a little longer at hotel since we had a late flight. Overall, it was a good memorable vacation. Thanks Hyatt Ziva Read less

Pipes making noise in the walls and unable to move rooms. We slept with noise cancelling headphones and pillows over our ears - torture. The hotel was unable to move us and our second room. We are a larger family and needed adjoining rooms or very close.
