The hotel

Where is it

Located on the island of Thilamaaushi, in Lhaviyani Atoll, one of the Maldives’ smaller and underdeveloped atolls. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

141 well-appointed guest villas and suites, featuring unparalleled views across the whitewashed beaches, the Indian Ocean or turquoise lagoon. All with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, safe, bathrobe, separate shower and tub, hair dryer, bathroom amenities, smart TV, and complimentary WiFi access. Beach Villas are 82 sqm featuring direct beach access, indoor and outdoor bathroom, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Half Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas.

Full Board option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill and 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas. Dinner, choice of daily theme dinner buffet or a 3-course set menu served at Turquoise (set menu only when buffet is not available), 3-course set menu at Velaa Bar + Grill or 3-course set menu at Riviera Tapas.

Drinks: unlimited consumption of non-alcoholic beverages from the beverage list served in the above-mentioned outlets, only during mealtime (breakfast, lunch or dinner), and to be consumed in the outlets only. Mini-bar - non-alcoholic beverage and snacks replenished once per day.

All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast buffet at Turquoise. Lunch, choice of Turquoise (only when the restaurant is open), Waves Café, Velaa Bar + Grill, Riviera Tapas and Riviera Bar. Room upgrades

Beach Garden Pool Villas feature an open-air bathroom, private pool, and direct beach access from the patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Beach Pool Villas are the same as above, with a pool located at the front of the villa.

Overwater Villas with pools have either sunrise or sunset views, private pool, and direct lagoon access. The bedroom has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach access with a private pool, two bedrooms each with 1 king-size bed, and an open-air bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 people.

We spent 14 nights on the island from June 26 with our 2 daughters. There were 7 nights in a beach bungalow with a pool and 7 nights in a water bungalow with a pool. This is the island we will definitely go back to. I don't even know where to start, I'll try to be brief, although it will be difficult because the island, the staff, the food are magical. Le Meridien is the 6th island we visited, but it was a parade, the best. My husband and I loved being there, our daughters didn't want to come home. The staff is a miracle on the island. I can't even single out everyone. I don't want to offend anyone by not writing their name, but everyone on the island is amazing. There is no request that they do not fulfill, everyone smiles, they always have a kind word or two. The kids club girls Torsha, Sandy and Mahyy are phenomenal. They organize programs for the children every day, our girls had such a good time that they didn't even want to leave the kids club for lunch :) On the last day, they gave us a little surprise when we said goodbye :) thank you very much for everything :) To Supum and his team, Jezzika, Mauch, Miraah and Aapaa from the Turqoise restaurant, we thank you for everything, the attentiveness and the friendly atmosphere. Sanal was loved by our girls, he prepared a new special drink for the girls every day, the children loved it :) Sofia from Riviera Bar is a phenomenon. Special thanks to him and Choris for the extra surprise we received in our room right before our departure :) We would single out Gerry and Aqu from the Vela restaurant, the two guys are amazing :) The Japanese restaurant is wonderful, the girls are incredibly polite and kind! You have to try the teppanyaki, we loved it. The boys in the gym are also very good and friendly, yoga is great! We were assigned our focal, Ali, to manage and coordinate every aspect of our stay. Ali is the best focal that I have come across globally. He meticulously and seamlessly ensured that we had a fantastic and most memorable stay ! Ali is definitely strong management potential for future endeavors and a huge asset for the Marriott Group. The executive chef of the resort, Asaf, is the best that I have come across any resort globally. Asaf ensured that our culinary experience at the resort was more than excellent. Asaf took great care of us every day and made sure our culinary experience was amazing with his attention to detail and lovely solution oriented approach. The housekeeping staff is the best that I have come across globally. The head of housekeeping, and her staff were very dedicated , super efficient, and very pleasant. The kids club was one of the best that I have come across globally. Our kids were given such a wonderful and memorable experience. All credit to the head, Angelika, and her colleague, Mahy. We greatly appreciate and would like to thank the resort staff for arranging 4 birthday parties in one day for our one year old son. In the morning at Torquoise, in the room by housekeeping, in the kids club, and at the main lobby. The minibar is very well stocked with spirits and wine, soft drinks, chocolates and sweets and also aqua pans and san pellegrino which was a surprise.
