The hotel

Mango Bay is in a great location on a beautiful beach on the west coast. We love it because it's a small, friendly hotel that exudes bajan charm. The restaurants, bars and boutiques of fashionable Holetown St. James, along with the Limegrove Lifestyle complex, are just footsteps away - and the complimentary catamaran cruise allows you to explore even more that the island has to offer.

The cocktails were amazing and really made the holiday special. The beach location was perfect and plenty of sunbeds so you were not fighting for one. The sea was lovely and calm and as it was my first time swimming in the sea I felt confident. Watching the sunset every evening was the best. Air conditioning in all the rooms was amazing and a relief from the 30 degree heat. Rooms were comfortable and the only issue we encountered was the constant noise of the tree frogs who would start the minute the sun set and did not stop till the sun rise. The activities list for the week is really good and I really enjoyed my yoga and aqua class. However, the gym wasn't huge. I liked the invitation to the horse racing, although we weren't informed of this till the middle of the week and we had already booked an excursion. Some of staff members were very friendly and clearly loved their jobs and the customers. The entertainment was good, but the fire eater was amazing. You could book a taxi from the hotel if you wanted to go anywhere, however, I did find the taxi's very expensive. In fact most things you buy in this particular area (Hole town) is very expensive. I bought a bottle of rum and could have got it £10 cheaper in the UK. Read less

We stayed in a standard room 401 which was clean and had a nice view over the pool area. The location is great and Holetown is one of the nicest parts of the Island in our opinion. The staff were friendly and helpful, a special tjankyou to the Manager Sheridda and to Abeena and Ashlee on reception. The food was excellent every day with lots of choice and the staff were attentive and helpful. The place has a warm feel to it and we met some lovely people. It is a very sociable place. The beach is gorgeous and snorkeling was great. Loads of Jet skis and other things to do if you wanted. On a down side the hotel does feel in need of a refresh particularly the bar and restaurant area but this won't stop us returning. The catamaran trip is included and was ok but I'd recommend doing a bigger one of you want comfort and some island info. All in all a fabulous time and looking forward to returning soon. Read less

The one love bar had a party night when we were there on friday and the music was LOUD until 3am so dont go for the block nearest the side street. Staff were amazing; food lovely and bar service good. Probably needed more sunbeds as it was quiet when we were there and we struggled to find one. There is a small outside area where there is entertainment. The area was not covered and the staff kept taking the table and chairs away so seating was very limited. It was unusable on the days it rained. We had a room overlooking the pool which was accessed via a lift and was lovely. You could walk up to Holetown which was nice or along the lovely sandy beach. Reception were good. Overall. Recommended. Read less

I’m on a sunbed writing a short review for now. . Everything is just as lovely as we remember from our last visit in Jan 2020. The menu is a little disappointing at times , we don’t want Mongolian beef or Moroccan chicken or vindaloo for goodness sake we’re in Barbados!! Where are the Caribbean spices and beautiful fresh crayfish , jerk meat etc. if cost is an issue you could add a supplement for the pricier items. That said everyone is so helpful and friendly and accommodating to our needs. The customer relations cannot be faulted. These are just a few of our standout staff members. Shem- what an absolutely lovely young man.a real asset to the hotel. For one so young, he can talk to and respect people of all ages . He radiates sunshine and kindness which is a rare thing in one so young.. Damien obviously, for his tireless work and energy when delivering our drinks with a smile and a few fancy moves! Raynard.also a lovely polite young man . Marie our waitress, you are such a character always has a smile and a cheeky sense of humour. Ronald and Isabelle, both very helpful and professional. Most of the staff are fab but not all. The staff and the friendliness have always been this small hotels biggest asset as well as the amazing location of course. Shem you are a star your family should be very proud of you. ( From the boring woman who only drinks water🤣🤣) I’ll write a full review on my return to Uk. Read less
