Malaika and Bailey was the reason for this 5 star review! They made this vacation the best. Definitely come to this resort. The resort is beautiful and the people are amazing! So far we ate at Toscanini, Bombay and The Pub. Toscanini and the Pub was delicious, I recommend them.

Perspective: My wife and I are a reasonably well-traveled, mid-70s, conservative leaning, retired professionals couple. We live 15 miles from the beaches in southern Delaware.Tthe following are some thoughts about what we both believe was a wonderful vacation experience at Sandals Grande St. lucian: --The American Airlines flights going and returning were very good. The service was top-notch. --The use of mobile airsteps, insteaf of jetways, was an interesting arrival surprise at UVF airport. --You can hire paid guides to move you quickly through immigration and customs. It is worth it! --The Sandals Grade St. Lucian, facility and grounds, were everything you would expect from at a Samdals resort. Our room was as fabulous as a beach-front room could be. However, management needs to pay closer attention to some relatively minor plumbing issues before they become major problems. --Management and staff in all positions and at all levels were friendly, and accomodating...especially three special people. First, Wendy at the reception desk was very upbeat, knowledgeable, informative, and proficient. I promised her I would do my best to get my youngest son to come to the Grande so she could meet him. The second stand-out staffer was Ivana, a server in the main buffet and other dining areas (as needed). Ivana was always like a breath of fresh air first thing in the morning. Her lovely smile, charming British accept, and bubbly personality combined to brighten our morning every day. Ivana is a role model for people in customer service posisitons anywhere! Finally, there was Lisa. What a sweetie. She was attentive, efficient, and very friendly. --Overall, the food in the restaurants was good. Gordons, Kimonos, Toscaninis, and the Creperie are must dos. The main buffet was fine, especially for breakfast. Coffee was consistently good in all restaurants. Service in the Jerk Shack, Barefoot, and Mariners was often excruciatingly slow and spoty --The bars were what you would expect at an all inclusive like Sandals (was not able to get top-shelf, single malt scotch at all bars). ---Pools were great. The beach was not as big as I/we expected. It had a very uneven, "rocky" bottom, and surprisingly strong ebb and flow at the ocean's edge. We wish we had packed personal pool/ocean floats, but were glad we thought to pack our water shoes (for the beach). ---It was a great trip! We would go, again. Read less

Just got back last weekend from a fabulous week at the Grande. Reached Sapphire Sandals status. No rain, temps in the mid to upper 80s, which I was told was a little hotter than usual for the 2nd week of April. Took the Fun to Sea ferry from and to the airport. It was a great way to see the island, have some drinks and snacks, and the crew was great with pointing out landmarks and making sure we had a good time. Made a stop near the cruise ships to pick up and drop off so entire trip took about 2 hours each way. Island and resort are beautiful. Stayed in Massade and it was convenient to everything. Our room attendent Andrea was great and very pleasant. Everyone went out of their way to say hello and we struck up conversations and made connections with many of the staff, who would make sure to spend some time with us three Pennsylvania couples and make us feel a part of the family. It's an exhaustive list, but there were the tireless entertainment staff folks: Neville the Devil, Abigail, Jesse, Mauka and Finella and Kelvin. Thank you for making our vacation special. Peter kept us happy at the pool bar with his Peter Specials and his smile. There was Gregory, the manager at Gordon's and Lisa, the manager at Bayside, and Ivana, the manager at Barefoot by the Sea, as well as Delia, who served us our special candlelight dinner (won during the managers' win mixer with a 'dance off'), James and Jonathan, who took our photos, and Suzelle, who often served us as well. Little Mike helped make our snorkeling excursion fun. We even were stopped by and talked with the new overall food manager a couple of times and talked to the resort manager. They said the resort was at capacity, but it never felt crowded. The pool was the place to be most days with plenty of fun activities and trivia contests and aerobics (I promise, next time I might participate). The resort is not as large as Antigua, but feels larger than Grenada. Everything is centrally located, the beach is pretty long. Food was good everywhere. Only 1 bad meal and a couple where we had to wait a bit as they are a bit short-staffed, but not worth mentioning. Try them all. Book reservations for the couple that need it when you get there. Take a tervis like cup for pool drinks, lots of high # sunscreen, and just relax and enjoy. Took a shuttle to Halcyon and were glad we were staying at the Grande, though the new lazy river section there was pretty cool. This is our new favorite. Met a woman, Melissa, who has been there 8 times now because her and her husband love it so much. You will too. Read less

We just found that they need more service staff they are stretched a little thin in some restaurants and the pool bars! One thing we were disappointed in was we requested three time better pillows and never received them! That was the first time that ever happened! But not enough of an issue to ruin our trip! Peter the bartender always impresses with the quality of his drinks and his care for the guests. Ivana is the best server I have ever had EASILY. She remembered us the second she saw us again and is always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Ivana makes you feel like a friend more than a guest and my wife and I greatly appreciated that. Kelvin with the entertainment services is so amazing at getting people involved and making the day feel electric!! Look for him if you want a great party! Again it is the people that really make this resort special and we cannot wait to visit again. Read less
