The hotel

An adult-only resort, Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay is Unlimited-Luxury® with an incredible range of amenities at your disposal. Designed in contemporary style and splashed with indigenous art, all suites are supremely comfortable with gorgeous king or queen-size beds, a full entertainment system, and a hot tub. There are opportunities galore for relaxing - treat yourself to an hour or two at the lavish Secrets Spa with its oceanfront massage cabanas. Please lower your expectations, this is not 5* I read all the reviews prior to going and was starting to dread it, even looking at other resorts but was told by many to ignore the negative reviews. Some staff are incredible, others completely RUDE!!! A tip is expected (we even met other couples who had been for food and a server who hadn’t even served them asked them for a tip!! With some staff unless you tip don’t even expect a smile) We were given one towel between us when we arrived, the room was not cleaned for 2 days. I called housekeeping for towels who did bring us a bundle promptly but surely if there’s 2 people in a room you would leave more! I called and complained about the room not being cleaned, it was then done on that day. Once tipped the cleaner it was done every day after that. I am vegetarian and really struggled to eat on the evening except for the Friday which was a Jamaican buffet - the best food we had there but it was only on for Friday evening. I had to eat what I could in the day to make up for the evening as I only had one choice in each restaurant and in all honesty the food was poor. My boyfriend who is a meat eater also thought the food was poor. Room service - please don’t bother the food was awful. (Tasted like a microwave pizza!!) Although it’s all inclusive you are approached DAILY to spend more money on wine, special meals, cabanas. We paid $89 for a special thanks giving meal, wish we hadn’t bothered the entertainment was great but could’ve seen it for free from piano bar. Also paid $110 several times for a cabana as we couldn’t get any other beds!! (Staff doing cabanas were also great) Very very mixed but overall quite disappointed and will not be going back there. Not worth it, go somewhere else in the caribbean and actually move around freely. It is a big tourst trap. Down to the taxi's charging a 100$ for a 5 minute ride to the gift shop charging 8$ for a Red Bull. Everyone is trying to get you, feels amazing.

Back home again for our 6th year in a row. We stayed in the Wild Orchid Preferred. We had a great time the food was good the service was great the staff took care of us. The beaches and the snorkeling was great this year nice clean water to see all sorts of fish. We are already talking about booking again next year.

You’ll happen upon a show or event that you’d have missed otherwise. A few of our favorite moments were during our restaurant waits and on the other side of it, they don’t rush you once you sit down. It’s your turn to relax and enjoy your dining experience. I’ve never experienced a better staff! The entertainment staff was both talented and interactive, I loved Sashy and Quan’s dance lessons—I’m the worst dancer but they never gave up on me and were so kind! The bartenders were some of the best resort bartenders I’ve ever encountered. If you see Alvin at the swim up bar, grab a seat. He’ll make you laugh until your sides hurt! Renaldo created us a super tasty drink when we were having trouble deciding and a special shout out to Obrian and Shakina for A+ poolside bar service! Read less
