This hotel manages to fail in all aspects of what makes a good hotel. We shortened our 29 night stay to 5 nights it was so bad. Found ourselves pleading with the staff every day to have our towels changed and our bed linen changed. Both were changed once in 5 days. We asked for tea making facilities and received a kettle on the 3rd day. No tea bags or coffee though. The furniture is dirty with stains. The housekeeping staff think that straightening the sheet on your bed is all that needs to be done. The front door was cracked so light shines through from the corridor. The doors leading out to the veranda are a struggle to open and close. The bar and restaurant closes at 8pm.!! Breakfast food is boringly tedious with a choice of about 6 items at most every day. The staff walk around with long faces looking as if they wish they (and you) weren’t here. All in all a very soul destroying 5 days in a shockingly awful hotel. Read less

The hotel is awful, its dirty , rude staff apart from Nick the barman .. all the sun beds are broke & are full of mould .. our room didn't even have a kettle & the balcony you had to lift the glass to slide it open .. this place is a one star , not a three star .. this place is like a hostel so if your just looking to lay your head down then it's perfect, but wasn't for us Read less

Hotel is in a quiet part of the island, a roadway with a few hotels in it. Beach straight across the road, and it’s fab! Sunchairs available at the next beach, right beside it. An extension was built so our balcony was inside the extension for all the world. We had a standard room, and that’s what you get with the standard rooms apparently. So go for superior room and you should be fine! Venga bus taxis passing on the main road regularly and St Lawrence Gap only a 5 minute bus ride. Lots of lovely restaurants there. Barbados is such a beautiful island! If you are considering a trip there, just do it! Read less

Honest review. We stayed in room 313. Room was clean and spacious. Plenty of hot water, kettle, fridge and microwave in room. Reception. Staff were ok but not very knowledgable when asking for directions. Restaurant. Nobody smiled! You would say good morning and have a grunt as a reply. Everything just seemed too much effort. They continually run… Read more

Staff were ok but not very knowledgable when asking for directions. Restaurant. Nobody smiled! You would say good morning and have a grunt as a reply. Everything just seemed too much effort. They continually run out of food. The cook made you feel as if you were a nuisance. We had bacon on the first day but never seen it again. I asked 4 times for the water urn to be refilled as it was empty. Eventually it was filled with warm water from the sink, we gave up waiting for it to heat. They advertise sun loungers, umbrellas and free cabanas on the beach, there is nothing there. You have to buy a towel for the pool and beach and you are told they do not launder these. 2 weeks using the same towel 😳 There are not many restaurants around and the hotel restaurant closed at 6.30pm Ok for a budget but honestly the staff really could make the experience better by simply acknowledging the customers. I have been to the Caribbean 17 times, Barbados 3 times. Unfortunately the hotel does not project the real ethos of Bayjan hospitality. Read less

In general It's really tired & in need of a full refurbishment. The staff just make notes of issues but nothing ever gets done. The swimming pool was closed on our last day. The bar closed very early in the evenings. The pool area was not kept clean and tidy during the day. They need more than 1 toaster for breakfast. It took too long. The cruise ship staff got to have their breakfast first while the other guests were made to wait. One guest had rats in his room. Our friends were made to wait 2 hours to get into their room despite us all arriving at approx 4:00pm - 4 hours after the check out time. Specific to our room - Nr 402, which was sold as a superior room. We had no tea of coffee making facilities & our safe did not work. Both these issues were raised 4 or 5 times. We had no clothes drying rack on the balcony. The sliding door to the balcony needed to be vigorously man handled to get it to open or closed. My wife was not strong enough to operate it. After heavy rain we had a serious ingress of rain water into our bathroom (very close to the lights) on 3 occasions due to a roof leak. The shower taps came away from the wall. The balcony was often wet after rain. It did not drain, nor was it mopped. We had no glasses. The bath towels were small, thin & not at all soft. Read less
