It was our first wedding anniversary and we decided to stay at this lovely hotel. Entering the hotel, we were greeted by the warmest staff, Manager Stephanie and the front desk staff, Emerson, the most welcoming experience ever! The bellman whose last name is also Cumberbatch was extremely helpful and friendly, the restaurant staff just amazing! Khaleel, Shaniqua, the guy with the unique name Cest who brought us a comp wine and postcard just were superb just to name a few! The pool and beach guys, Mr Winston Browne one of the chefs so friendly so impressive and knowledgeable wow! The restaurant manager/supervisor can’t remember her name but she was so accommodating and warm - (worked the 8th April and was there in the next afternoon as well). The Sands my husband and I give you 10/10! Definitely will be back soon! The staff, the ambience, the personal touches, the food & drinks, the activities - exceeded our expectations. Thank you The Sands for the most memorable experience! Read less

Check in could be done by reception or yourself. We did it ourselves and it took all of 10 mins. Once we were taken to our room we discovered there was nowhere for the children to sleep. (The travel agents had booked for 4 but in the hotel system it only showed as 2 adults. This had happened to another family so more the booking operator that the hotel?) Either way it was no problem. They quickly took us to another room with a second bedroom! Fabulous! The food menu for the children was great. A la carte menu was minimal but lively and filling. If you’re a fussy eater then it may now work well for you but we didn’t have any complaints about any of the meals. Entertainment finished around 11pm which was welcomed as we were in bed for 9pm each night due to the time difference. The pool and beach are just fabulous! The children’s team did some amazing crafts with the kids. Absolutely brilliant and totally unexpected. Easter Sunday was fabulous with a visit from the Easter bunny, an Easter egg hunt and a petting zoo. Lots of sweet treats for the children too. Our girls 3 & 5 absolutely loved it. The pool was fab as it started very shallow and gradually went deeper so no stress with the children. Location great. We hired a car as found taxi outside to be quite expensive. $90 usd a day car hire. Couldn’t fault it and very easy to arrange. Highly recommend Read less

The drinks were not top shelf but to be fair they were pretty good four out of five. entertainment was generally poor. The rooms were very clean very modern and very spacious. Air-conditioning works great. Overall we had a great time at the sands there is one speciality restaurant. I had a nice shirt jeans and a very expensive pair of trainers on. I was almost refused admission as I did not have shoes. I stayed in very expensive hotels and they only ask for tailored shorts, collared shirt and smart trainers that really is ridiculous, I wouldn’t return as I like better food, but again the staff were first class Read less

Ignore the dodgy reviews we had a fab time. Myself and husband and 3 kids returned yesterday and we had a great experience. We had a two bedroom apartment which was huge and had everything we needed, ours wasn’t tired at all, it was modern and spotless. Would have been good if there was a few plates and cutlery as we did have the odd thing to eat in there but it wasn’t a problem and we could have got some downstairs. Coffee tea, biscuits , toiletries were filled up each day. Fresh towels too. We had 2 buffet lunches and two evening buffets which were my favourite with local dishes,, salads and vegetables. The 3 course a la carte were always lovely, although small by time you’d eaten 3 courses you’d had enough, we usually ordered 2 portions of fries for the table too. There is a beach menu available from 10.30 - 4.30 but you can also order from it in the evening and lunch if the 3 course doesn’t suit, which it didn’t suit my 6 year old. Drinks were all plentiful and good quality. Afternoon tea was served 4-5 if you could fit anything else in! Staff were very friendly and always made effort to speak to the kids. Kemar and Shushella that ran kids activities went above and beyond. There were some great Easter things on including visit from bunny at breakfast, egg hunt, bonnet making etc. Position of hotel is perfect, walk or jump on ZR bus which is brilliant and left me with a smile on my face every time. Saw turtles in sea and loads of different fish. Couldn’t fault it! Read less
