The overall experience was amazing. The Westin team were very attentive and accommodating. The in and out of the island experience was very well planned and executed and they always made sure we were comfortable. The Gym facilities and the beach/water was spectacular, and the food experience had variety and flavor. While we were staying in an overwater pool villa, I think next time I would probably prefer the privacy and scenery of the beach villa. Read less

It’s an excellent 11 day stay here on this beautiful island. When selecting your resort island in advance you check for the villa size, the F&B packages and the transport options. So this is what brought us for our first visit on the Maldives to the Westin and not the St Regis or Le Meridien. As a family of 3 the Westin offers with the deluxe villa a separate living room with sofa bed for privacy. I spent my first vacation alone and was on the Maldives for the first time to gain diving experience. The large, luxurious, well-equipped villa, the private garden with pool, the access to the sea were just perfect. The staff are very helpful, surprised me with little touches and I had the pleasure of Julia taking special care of my concerns - she was available for me day & night and always helped me, made my vacation even easier where she could and helped me with all my concerns in a friendly and discreet manner, which is very pleasant as a solo traveler. The diving center was also very keen to carefully introduce me, as a diving beginner, to the beauty of the sea and took me to many different places and practiced my skills with me. I am a very straightforward person and only write reviews when there is something truly worth mentioning. This review is written voluntarily because I was deeply impressed by Simad's service. It was an extraordinary customer experience. I stayed for 6 nights during a very high season (Asian Thanksgiving Day), and being a budget traveler, I booked the room at the best possible rate. Although I am a Titanium member with Marriott Bonvoy, I thought I might not be able to receive an over-water villa upgrade, but Simad went above and beyond to assist me. Every evening, he gave me a phone call presenting the best available options, and I ended up moving to my desired room twice. (I think this resort only has 30 units or slightly more of over-water villa. Not many) It wasn't just about receiving an upgraded room; Simad never forgot the requests I mentioned during check-in, called every evening to check if I was satisfied with my stay, and provided feedback on every detail I mentioned. This made for a truly touching experience. Simad made my Maldives trip exceptional, and the Westin Maldives is a hotel that respects Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members. In addition, I went to see the doctor twice because my bf has back pain and eye sight problems. She was so nice and welcoming. I know it is not good to see her again, but when i came back there another issue. She also did a great treatment. Everyone, no worries when you have some medical issues. There is a good doctor here in Westin. And thank you, chef Min, you made my breakfast much satisfied. I never missed Korea because of your homemade Kimchi and Shin ramyun. And I really wished to remember his name, the gentle Maldivian guy in the restaurant. It is impossible to pick each one because everybody here is really helpful. I am so sure I will be here again! Our stay at The Westin Maldives was truly unforgettable. We visited for our honeymoon, and from start to finish, the experience exceeded all our expectations. The staff were simply out of this world—so friendly, accommodating, and genuinely interested in making our stay perfect. They made a remarkable effort to learn our names and remember our preferences, creating a deeply personal and memorable experience. The entire team worked incredibly hard and long hours, but they always did so with a smile and an unwavering willingness to help. It was clear that everyone was dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful time. A special shoutout to Hotel Manager Laurent, who took the time to check in with us daily, whether we were at breakfast, dinner, or just strolling around the island. His personal touch, including a heartfelt hug goodbye as we boarded our seaplane, truly made us feel valued. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every dish was freshly made and absolutely sensational. We sampled everything on the menu, and if there was anything we desired that wasn't available, the catering team went above and beyond to accommodate us. For example, on our last evening, I wanted a particular sushi that was only on the lunch menu, and the Japanese chef made it specially for me! We also highly recommend opting for the all-inclusive package, especially for the drinks. While the drink menu wasn't as extensive as some other places we've stayed, it offered a solid selection of 3 reds, 3 whites, rosé, prosecco, and a few beers, along with a good range of cocktails. The bar team was incredibly accommodating, even crafting off-menu cocktails upon request. Additionally, the all-inclusive package made the high cost of drinks outside the package a non-issue. We left feeling like we had truly gotten our money's worth. Our stay in the east-facing overwater villa was nothing short of spectacular. The villa provided uninterrupted views of the open sea and offered some of the most gorgeous sunrises we’ve ever seen. Stepping directly from our villa into the crystal-clear waters was an absolute highlight. The sea here is approximately chest height (I’m 5ft 6in), and while the waves can be a bit more active on this side, it was perfectly safe—just a little advice for those who may not be as confident in the water. We were constantly entertained by the vibrant marine life right beneath our villa. From schools of colorful fish to a reef shark (which we were assured was harmless), and even a baby Manta-Ray on our last day, the underwater world was a thrilling part of our stay. The villa (like the whole island) was a piece of luxury. It was incredibly spacious, with fantastic air conditioning that was essential in the constant 30-degree heat, even at night. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating stay. The room was impeccably maintained, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness and care. A special mention goes to the thoughtful touches from our room service/butler team. They left us charming messages on the bed made from grass and flowers native to the island, adding a personal and delightful touch to our experience. Deepak, the Director of Rooms, also checked in with us daily, making us feel incredibly welcome and ensuring that everything was perfect. Overall, The Westin Maldives offers an exceptional blend of incredible service, delicious food, and a stunning setting. It’s the perfect destination for a honeymoon or any special celebration.
