We stayed here for 4 nights with our 4-year old daughter on half-board. The whole staff is absolutely amazing and extremely attentive. Food was very good and our queen beach villa was functional and definitely had enough space. Our daughter loved the kids club and Karen took excellent care of her! The gym is well equipped. We did a tour to Hanifaru Bay which was very enjoyable. Complaints we issued were taken care of immediately and followed up by, which was impressive. Laurent, the GM, is doing a great job! We think the villa could use some deep cleaning and we missed the barefoot feeling, which is just a personal preference. Buffets had a focus on catering for Chinese guests. For us the music at the main restaurant was too loud and we missed dining at the beach directly. In general we would recommend to book at least the half board option, since prices are quite high. Be sure to inform yourself about the currents before snorkeling, because they can get very strong! We would definitely recommend this place if you want to visit Hanifaru Bay but if you are setting your focus on nature, safe snorkeling and tranquility there are better options to explore. Read less

Mr. Vijay Kumar (the GM) and Deepak (the head of food, beverage & service) have done an exceptional job with the hiring and training of the staff. All members of the Westin team were professional, friendly and went out of their way to ensure every moment spent there was incredible. The level of care we received will rival the most luxurious hotel brands. I cannot compliment the staff at the Westin enough. Chef Fahdrul (Executive Chef) is one of the most creative and talented chefs I've ever had the privilege to dine with. It is evident he loves what he does and it shows through the flavors, freshness and creativity of his food. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was beyond comfortable. The outdoor shower was amazing!!! The size of the island was perfect, not to big and not to small. There is a beautiful 2nd story gym with his and her saunas downstairs. The ocean is crystal blue and calm. The coral and marine life were comparable to whar you would find in a National Geographics Magazine. Snorkeling gear is complentary and of nice quality. If you are lucky enough to travel to the Maldives choose The Westin for your stay. You will not be disappointed. Read less

This was our second time at the Westin Maldives. My family and I had such a great time at the Westin last year, we decided to go back, knowing that there would be a chance that we might be disappointed the second time around. After our 5 night stay, I can comfortably say that our second time around was even better than the our first! From the moment that we arrived, the resort felt like home with familiar faces everywhere. Our kids were eager to see their favorites from last time and many of the staff, whom we loved so much, were still there. The feeling was akin to seeing old friends. The smile from Min the chef every morning brings anticipation and excitement to every dish that comes to the plate. This time breakfast even included an a la carte menu with creative dishes from the new executive chef. Our favor was the Boa Taco. While a year older, my kids ran to Karen from the Kid's club like their younger selves. Deepak was as charismatic as ever, conversations with him were always enriching. New build manager Fikree, was the kindest and most loving man, gave us a-behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities - a must do. Knowing all the work that goes into power, supplying and running this amazing resort gave us a renewed appreciation for the staff and everything that they do behind the scenes to provide us such wonderful experience. The star of the show was the General Manager who's leadership brought the entire operation together. Beyond the people, the facilities were just as tip top as before. The rooms are generously sized. The place is modern, but very functional. The property also had some new upgrades that we noticed instantly - an outdoor workout area, a new yoga pavilion, a newly surfaced tennis court, all of which we used during our stay. In short, the Westin is a gem. Having been to other Maldives resorts, this is perhaps the best valued, most bang-for-your-buck resort. If you are into healthy living, personalized luxury that's not pretentious, don't look anywhere else. As someone who doesn't like to go back to the same place twice, we are already speaking about going back to the Westin for a 3rd time! Can't wait to see our friends again. Read less
