We enjoyed our daily coffee and tea with the delicious almond biscuits outside on the terrace overlooking the canal. Top service. Our thanks to Elvira and Nelson. What a cheerful and pleasant staff. We come here twice a year and the last time was March 17, 2020. The location is superb. Near the lively V&A Waterfront and the sea is not far from the hotel. Nice pool and luxury spa. We hope the world will be better soon so we can meet Elvira and Nelson again. Read less

We dined in the restaurant the one evening we were there and it was perfect and the breakfast buffet was among the very best we have ever experienced. Our hope is to one day return to again experience this luxurious setting. Read less

We stayed in on the start of our horny for three days. The hotel is lovely big rooms and bathroom which are immaculate and clean. We had a table mountain view room which looks directly onto the mountain which was amazing. The staff here are amazing, they actually went out to ticket offices to arrange tickets and day trips for us which we may have missed out on otherwise. The bar area is lovely to sit and have cocktails. Nobu is also in the hotel which we had a flawless meal at. We were here for our honeymoon and we had daily deliveries to our room of wine and chocolates which was so kind and generous. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Read less

I have updated my review as I left the previous with high emotions and frustration during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis: I felt let down by One & Only in the way they simply cancelled my booking without any correspondence or warning (which IS possible via the Hotels.com App as demonstrated by other Hotels and One and Only themselves when they emailed prior to my stay). I also remain frustrated by One & Only's interpretation of the Covid-19 mandate which nearly left myself, wife and one year old son homeless on the streets of Cape Town for one night. Sorry but I really think One & Only should and could have done more to help reaccommodate their guests instead of just cancelling and leaving them high and dry (I am sure you care about the safety of your guests too)? NONETHELESS, my previous review was unfair and personal, in a time that I am sure was also stressful for the GM and his colleagues. Whilst I think the situation could have been handled much better, this was an unprecedented challenge with very little warning or clarity. The One and Only's GM responded to my complaint calmly, professionally and with dignity, and thus promoting a more fair yet brief summary on the hotel as follows: One and Only Cape Town is one of the best hotels we have stayed at, with clean and comfortable rooms, incredibly friendly staff and one of the most impressive breakfast menus (and quality) you can find. Sorry RL. Read less
