Lovely hotel in a fab, safe location. Short Uber ride either way takes you to Camps Bay or to the V&A Waterfront (about £3-£6 depending on which car you go for)! Regent Road - literally a 2 minute stroll away, is handy for restaurants and shops (Pick n Pay, Spar and some smaller boutique-style stores. Rooms are spacious and clean - we had a balcony so could sit and watch the sea. Food and drink is really reasonably priced, compared to UK hotel prices. We had breakfast included but only partook on day 1 - it wasn’t great to be honest but that’s no different to most hotels serving a buffet breakfast to loads of guests. Just our preference - we chose to eat out (Kleinsky’s, Jarryd’s and Coco Safar on Regent Road/Main Road are lovely). Without a doubt though, the stars of this hotel are its staff. Whilst some are stand-out brilliant (Eminence in particular with his infectious smile), most are friendly and helpful. Those that aren’t might just be in a bit of a fluster, because it can be super busy at times - especially early evening in the bar area! All in all, a great place with great people and we’d happily stay here again. Read less

This stay was for a women’s conference. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. Upon arrival our room had two twin beds placed as one. The staff was helpful in separating the beds and changing the bedding to match. The buffet breakfast offerings were absolutely delicious, with many choices to please all tastes. The lunch and dinner menu had a wide variety of choices. The only complaint I would have was the slow service, yet that seemed to be the norm in the area. The food was tasty and cooked to order. Housekeeping provided fresh water bottles to the room each day. There was a kerug coffeemaker, microwave and mini-fridge in the room. Our room had a view of Lion’s Head Mountain, and with darkening drapes, we were not awakened too early in the morning. The hallways were very quiet. The grounds were maintained beautifully, with a gorgeous pool area and view of the ocean from the pool and lounges. The bar seemed to be a hot spot for locals to catch the local sports games. There are many lounging areas to enjoy the view and some quiet. The location is a two-block watch to the Oceanside one direction and the same in the other direction to many eateries. A short Uber drive to downtown tourist spots. If I was in the area, I wouldn’t hesitate to visit this hotel again. Read less

Arrived to a warm welcome, very friendly staff. We booked a suite over looking the pool/seaview. The room was lovely, lots of space and an amazing king size bed. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and constantly replenishing. Drinks and pool lunch delicious, room service was also top class (and very responsibility priced). Beach/Pool towels available so no need to bring your own (which we did). The only reason we have not put 5 stars is that there was some renovations going on during our staff - getting ready for high season and it was a little distruptive at times. Also the pool and bar staff extremelly slow in taking and delivering orders - we put this down to a number of new staff being trained. However, ALL the staff are absolutely lovely and we wouldn't hesitate to return to The President. The location is perfect - we walked along the prom into Cape Town. There is plenty of security and gates were controlled by lovely 'Daddy and Emenise' and if you can have a spa treatment, Pamela is lovely and does a great massage. Try the 'Open House Daquiri' - its non alcololic absolutely delicious. Don't forgot to visit MoJo and Braids along Sea Point - Braids do the best steak we have ever eaten. Enjoy it was the best holiday we have ever had - despite travelling most of the world. Read less

A big hotel but with a homely feel. Room and facilities were good. Food in the restaurants was excellent and the breakfast buffet had an a great selection and was organised very well even with big conference parties there every day of our stay. Only slight complaint was that the main restaurant was closed every night of our stay - not really sure why as no one seemed to be in it. However the menu was available to order from in the bar area which we did. Staff were first class - always smiling, helpful and friendly. Pool area looked nice but we didn't use it as there is too much to do in Cape Town. That brings me to the location, Bantry Bay, which was perfect for us. It has a high street full of shops and restaurants to eat in and it a pleasant 6km walk along the seafront promenade to the V&A waterfront area. You could take an uber or the city bus if the walk is daunting. We really enjoyed our stay for 5 days and always felt safe and secure there. Can highly recommend. Read less

Three nights stay, last of the 10 hotels during our SA tour. Strange welcome, not bad, rather professional but also quite "mechanical". Why do they take a picture of our entire group ? Smoot checkinn, great room (were upgraded to a suite) with a nice double bed, separate toilet and a "one person at the time" bathroom but well equipped and good water pressure. Very good WiFi, safe box, aircon, microwave, water kettle and fridge. Free bottles of water every day. The constantly running, day and night, aspiration fan in both the toilet as in the bathroom was quite disturbing...should be put off from 11pm until 7am IMO. All in all a great hotel to stay, except for the chaotic service at breakfast. Too few tables for all the guests who are practically all starting their day at 7am with breakfast to be ready at 8am for day trips. Too few staff member to cater for eg. coffee or tea. The egg's station was only manned by one person, we didn't bother to get into the que. Luckily there were enough other items at breakfast to start your day. Would I choose to come back to this hotel...actually, yes I would. Read less
