350 rooms and suites on 6 floors in 1 building with 3 lifts. All with air-conditioning, living area with satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, semi self-catering kitchenette with tea/coffee maker, microwave, safe and hairdryer. Classic Rooms, formally known as Standard Mountain Facing Rooms, feature an open-plan kitchenette, seating area, desk, bathroom and separate toilet. Rooms have 1 double bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Classic Mountain/Ocean Rooms, formally known as Mountain/Sea Facing Rooms, have 1 double bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Spacious and modern Classic Apartments have a lounge and dining area with an open-plan kitchenette, separate bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Available with mountain or urban views, and 1 king-size bed and sofa bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Ocean Suites overlook the infinity pool and the Atlantic Ocean, and have an open-plan kitchenette, lounge, desk, separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Suites have 1 king-size bed and sofa bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Family Ocean Suites have 2 bedrooms, open-plan kitchenette, lounge, desk and a shared bathroom, sleeping maximum 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Signature Family Ocean Suites have 2 bedrooms, a generous living area, 2 bathrooms and ocean views. Suites have 2 king-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Complimentary hotel shuttle to the V&A Waterfront (four times daily) during season.

The Islands Restaurant (buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch and dinner), Botany Café (healthy deli), Senate Bar, The Deck Bar, The Base Artisanal Pizzeria.

My stay of 7 days at the President Hotel was extremely enjoyable. I had a room with a balcony and ocean view. It was pleasant of an afternoon to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean. The room was great especially having tea and coffee facilities. The food at breakfast was tasty and plentiful with the service from the cooks and waiters very good. Make sure you have an omelette. I also enjoyed interacting with the bar staff. Their jokes and cheerful manner made it a great time to have a couple of beers. I had some trouble in Cape Town city. The security manager was very very helpful in solving the problem. He went above and beyond his duty to help me. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel . On my next visit I definitely will. We've been visiting the President for over 15 years and have considered it our home away from home. Except this time we're asked, as we are checking in, whether we will be making use of the PAID FOR hotel parking. We drove 5 hours to get to the hotel, and since there is no option NOT to use the parking (previously included in the price) they were trying to FORCE us to accept it at the end of the check in process. Where else would we be able to park our car? This is an unethical way to conduct business as the client is left with limited / no options but to pay the extra / hidden fees. To be clear: These NEW HIDDEN FEES were not communicated to us and were sprung upon as right at the end of check in and NOT at the time of booking. The new management had decided to trade their parking asset as a way to raise / extract more money from clients and are doing it through extortion at the time when the client has limited options left. Fortunately we were able to find alternative accommodation and maybe that was a good thing as additional options became available that we would not have considered previously. The President did offer to withdraw the parking charges but the truth is that this is a HIGHLY unethical negotiation tactic, as not everyone will complain when presented with this "default" cost. All this for a few extra coins!!! President Hotel, you've lost R12,000 and over a decade of loyal business. Go figure! Read less

Booked the Presidents Suite and paid for a birthday package for @ R500 it never arrived. Three weeks later I still have not been reimbursed for this despite emails with guest services saying it would be refunded. I just seem to be passed through to different people despite having provided all of the evidence. Quite a lot of cash was stolen from our room by housekeeping. We actually interrupted the theft and advised Morgan at security shortly after of the time frame for the staff member and that they exited shortly after we entered. We advised this would be visible on the security camera right outside our room. We were advised the security camera was not working. Police were not contacted which we were advised would occur. Do yourself a favour and don’t stay here in the end we didn’t feel safe. Bar and dinner service were really slow. Breakfast was buffet and well laid out. Definitely not five star save your money on this one it was not a good start to South Africa for us. Read less
