Radisson Red

Cape Town, South Africa

The hotel

Paving the way for the next generation of hotels, Radisson RED Cape Town isn’t just somewhere to bed down – from high-tech touches to sustainable craft cuisine, it’s a lifestyle choice. Daring design and funky features make it just as desirable as its coveted location (in Cape Town’s fashionable V&A Waterfront district and by the sightseeing pick-up point), so you’ll be excused for ‘dining in’, rather than stepping out to your neighbouring bars and restaurants. OUIBar + KTCHN matches the mood of this bold hotel, with its vivid palette, sustainable ingredients, and unpretentious ‘street food’ menu – you can even pre-order on the RED app. The app also connects you with other guests for city tips, but you’ll probably prefer hanging out with them in person at the RED Roof bar and grill, with its rooftop pool, drinks van, and Table Mountain views.

I arrived in Cape Town smiling and happy, the hotel was superb and the staff friendly. Fast forward 24hrs and i'm panicking because I'm not sure I can leave - the hotel staff MUST'VE felt the same, what's going to happen to the hotel, what's going to happen to us? However, they kept professional , they were smiling and happy and eager to help.… Read more

It was my first time in Cape Town and I got many recomendations to choose a place in V&A to stay, and in fact it was for me the best decision to stay there, on the V&A it has everything that you will need in a foot walk distance! Upon check in they were not very informative. Never told us where the lifts were, on what floor our room was or where the restaurants were located and where we would have breakfast the next morning. Upon check in they were not very informative. Never told us where the lifts were, on what floor our room was or where the restaurants were located and where we would have breakfast the next morning. They also said that in our room we would get a complimentary bottle of wine and popcorn however this was not in our room when we arrived. We only received it about 3 hours after we had arrived and after asking numerous times. I also find it disgusting that you have to pay for parking and they still have the audacity to say that if you pay directly for parking you would be charged R110 as opposed to R120 through the hotel. The rooms are also quite small and have paper cups for your tea and coffee. No coffee machines in the room only a plunger to make your own coffee. I can't however fault the restaurant as the food was amazing. Read less

The staff are what make the experience so wonderful - friendly, energetic and always willing to help you and they genuinely care about you! I will miss their smiley and energetic good mornings! The small touches in the hotel are so meaningful - like popcorn in the room or a personalised note. Breakfast was plentiful and the takeaway coffee cups are a blessing for when you’re in a rush! The food there in general was great and the rooftop is a great vibe. I moved to the 5* Taj hotel after and wish I hadn’t booked that prior as the RED was so amazing!! Thank you to ALL the staff. You are what makes this hotel so great and welcoming. Will recommend this hotel to everyone and if I ever come back to CT, I will be sure to stay here :) Read less

Checked in after midnight after an 11 hr flight from Amsterdam & staff couldn't have been more helpful. This is a quirky, modern hotel right next door to the Silo & within 5 minutes walk of the V&A Waterfront & all that has to offer. The rooftop bar is a must with stunning views out over the harbour area. Highly recommended if you are looking for… Read more
