Radisson Red

Cape Town, South Africa

The hotel

Paving the way for the next generation of hotels, Radisson RED Cape Town isn’t just somewhere to bed down – from high-tech touches to sustainable craft cuisine, it’s a lifestyle choice. Daring design and funky features make it just as desirable as its coveted location (in Cape Town’s fashionable V&A Waterfront district and by the sightseeing pick-up point), so you’ll be excused for ‘dining in’, rather than stepping out to your neighbouring bars and restaurants. OUIBar + KTCHN matches the mood of this bold hotel, with its vivid palette, sustainable ingredients, and unpretentious ‘street food’ menu – you can even pre-order on the RED app. The app also connects you with other guests for city tips, but you’ll probably prefer hanging out with them in person at the RED Roof bar and grill, with its rooftop pool, drinks van, and Table Mountain views.

Everything seemed to take ages. All aspects of service in terms of food or drink were very slow - especially when trying to pay to leave. Breakfast was varied but could have been hotter. Scrambled eggs in particular were never hot - 5/5 days I had them they were cold.

Stayed in Cape Town for a work trip and I really enjoyed the Radisson Red. It's not what you'd expect from a Radisson - there's a very cool, millennial-friendly vibe (and I should stress all age groups stay here and are welcomed). Stayed in Cape Town for a work trip and I really enjoyed the Radisson Red. It's not what you'd expect from a Radisson - there's a very cool, millennial-friendly vibe (and I should stress all age groups stay here and are welcomed). It's adopting what I'd call a 'deconstructed' approach to hotels, with no visible reception or concierge, casually-dressed light touch but helpful staff, hipster interior design and artworks. It's a bit like an unpretentious members club. Comfortable room and bed with modern fixtures and fittings, and a great desk to work from. Superb roof terrace with great food and a beer truck, as well as a (very small) pool to cool off. The staff are great - friendly, courteous and helpful without being too stuffy like old school hotels. Read less

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. They keep it simple yet awesome and add a bit of spunk to the ordinary. The staff is super helpful and friendly and the hotel is located in just the right spot to be walking distance from some lovely sites to see.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Friendly hotel in an ideal location. On edge of Waterfront and well placed for city buses. Very comfortable rooms

The location is perfect for the Waterfront and a short step from the city link buses. The views of Table Mountain are excellent. Staff are very friendly and caring. A lounge area would have been a nice touch.

Great Hotel especially the location at the entrance to the Waterfront where you feel quite safe. Very friendly staff who made the stay enjoyable. Rooms are big enough with a massive TV amd all the bathroom amenities you need. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and some neat quirky design aspects of their breakfast displays. The rooftop bar and pool was cool, with a DJ and loud music. Probably suits the younger customer. Overall a fantastic stay and would go back for sure Read less
