The hotel

Paving the way for the next generation of hotels, Radisson RED Cape Town isn’t just somewhere to bed down – from high-tech touches to sustainable craft cuisine, it’s a lifestyle choice. Daring design and funky features make it just as desirable as its coveted location (in Cape Town’s fashionable V&A Waterfront district and by the sightseeing pick-up point), so you’ll be excused for ‘dining in’, rather than stepping out to your neighbouring bars and restaurants. OUIBar + KTCHN matches the mood of this bold hotel, with its vivid palette, sustainable ingredients, and unpretentious ‘street food’ menu – you can even pre-order on the RED app. The app also connects you with other guests for city tips, but you’ll probably prefer hanging out with them in person at the RED Roof bar and grill, with its rooftop pool, drinks van, and Table Mountain views.

A great sustainable and efficient use of space. The modern architectural design lends itself to a fun and untraditional hospitality experience. The staff have a high energy level of engagement and service. The modern hotel experience is the future, as space and natural resources become more scarce.

I stayed this last week on a business trip. The hotel is clean, vibrant and welcoming. GOOD - Location, only 400m walk to the V&A waterfront. BAD - 1) Majority of the staff are miserable (and there is a lot of them). 2) Expect to wait a long time to be served, and even longer to receive your bill. 3) The menu choice is OK but some more… Read more

BAD - 1) Majority of the staff are miserable (and there is a lot of them). 2) Expect to wait a long time to be served, and even longer to receive your bill. 3) The menu choice is OK but some more options would be nice and maybe a dessert choice…. seriously no dessert options at all. 4) The pool is not heated and is more like a feature, as it’s in the middle of the rooftop Restaurant area with everyone eating/drinking around it. 5) Car parking is in the multi storey underneath, it’s not cheap and neither is it easy to navigate. 6) The music DJ’s on the rooftop were amazing, but I’m sure they could hear the music 20km away… and it goes on all night. 7) I had a top class suite, yet none of the rooms have “Do Not Disturb” signs, I had to politely tell the maid wanting to service my room several times to come back later… and they are persistent, it’s like they get paid per room. 8) Breakfast is a set menu with some good options, don’t dare ask for something simple like 3 fried eggs on toast, ooh…. death stare and a resounding NO. Would I stay again…. NO. Read less

Radisson Red is great place to stay. Perfect location with great proximity to the diamond museum and the Waterfront. Staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable. This hotel works well if you’re mixing both business and a holiday.

The hospitality during my stay was impeccable. I was under the weather my last few days and the staff really took care of me. I will always recommend the stay to friends and family. The location is also premium for food and entertainment, minutes away from a gigantic shopping area and bar strip.
