Cape Town has plenty to offer when it comes to sightseeing, and The Commodore is perfectly placed for you to enjoy the V&A waterfront, Table Mountain, and Robben Island with ease. Upgrade to an Executive room to make the most of the views from your balcony on the top floor, or even to a King Suite if you want the extra space for your stay. The nautical theme runs throughout the hotel, from your room right through to the bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and local wines. As you’re in the heart of the harbour, you don’t have to go far to find more restaurants and bars either, where you can while away sunny evenings in the oldest working harbour in South Africa.

Excellent location for this hotel, 2 minutes walk from the V&A waterfront. Rooms clean and everything functioned well - shower, air con (or heating in our case!), comfy beds.

Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and fresh, including an egg station to cook whatever type of egg you wanted
We had a standard room so no balcony but a view of Table Mountain over the rooftops.

The Commodore Hotel Cape Town SA. An appealing mixture of old world and convenience.

Located within walking distance to the busy waterfront, this hotel is ideal for the international visitor. The service is excellent and the staff very courteous and softly spoken. Rooms are generous and clean. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious meals.

We enjoyed 4 nights at this hotel.
Staff made sure to have 2 rooms next to each other and we're always welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfy. Great breakfast in a lovely restaurant. But most of all, the location was perfect. Would recommend on a trip to Capetown.

Lovely hotel, right by the V&A Waterfront which was ideal for us. Amazing view of the table top mountain from our room. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant worth a visit in the evening. Staff were all very nice. Bathroom had a few marks so needs redecoration soon but not an issue at all!

I stayed in this hotel twice. First time on my own (April). I had a standard room which looked dated. I had internet issues on arrival as none of the codes we were given worked. Same with my friend who also had internet issues. When connected the internet was OK not particularly fast. Breakfast was excellent.
Second time (May) on the trip I stayed with my wife, and we had a suite. We both had the same internet issues again when code would not work and ended up giving phone to reception who went into the system and corrected the codes and entered same on both our phones. What a difference - a beautiful room and aspect, beautifully refurbished so bright compared to the tired looking standard room I stayed in previously. Nespresso machine and good selection of teas. Comfortable bed and good size TV. AC worked well. I would strongly recommend asking for a refurbished standard room or book a suite.
I would have given 5 stars if our initial room had have been a refurbished one.
