A home away from home? This is that and more. With a sophisticated, sleek interior that’s infused with South African vibrancy, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the city – just opposite the Convention Centre if you’re here for business, but also just steps from bars, restaurants and attractions if you’re here for fun. Whichever room type you pick you’ll find yourself with ample space, and a fully equipped kitchenette to cook up a storm. Whilst you’ll feel like you’re in your own apartment, the concierge are on hand downstairs for whatever you need. And if you don’t feel like using your own facilities, the Asian tapas restaurant on the ground floor is definitely worth a visit. And if you fancy an aperitif, head up to the 4th floor to enjoy a cocktail with stunning views of Table Mountain. Deluxe One Bedroom Apartments have stunning Cape Town views, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Two Bedroom Apartments range from 77 to 102 sqm, with two bathrooms, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the two bedrooms, one of which has 1 king-size bed, and the other has twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Apartments have stunning mountain views from the balcony, with 1 king-size bed and twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

We stayed at this hotel in July 2024. The hotel was comfortable and professionally run. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and seating area. We stayed at this hotel in July 2024. The hotel was comfortable and professionally run. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and seating area. There was also a kitchenette with full sized fridge in our room and bottled water was supplied each day. The breakfast was very good with buffet style fruit, cereals, yoghurts, croissants and pastries. A choice of cooked breakfast was brought to our table along with freshly prepared tea or coffee. But what made this hotel truly special was how caring the staff were. Every morning they asked us our plans and often looked worried until we explained that we weren't going alone but as part of an organized trip. When my husband lost his phone in a taxi one evening a member of staff insisted on returning to the Waterfront with him to find the taxi rank and kindly spoke to the taxi firm who put out a message to all drivers. Good location to the waterfront (walkable or easy Uber ride). Wonderful staff and both restaurants at the hotel were great! One of the restaurants is only open for breakfast and lunch. Very clean accommodations. My room had a mini kitchen with a full-size fridge!

I recently stayed at the Onyx Hotel in the heart of beautiful Cape Town, and it was a delightful experience. The hotel's location offers stunning views and convenient access to the city's attractions. While the breakfast was a standard affair where you choose your dish, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cape Town

We visited the Onyx hotel on 22/06/2024 until 25/06/2024. On arrival the staff were all very friendly, they continued to be the same from start to finish. We couldn’t fault this hotel one bit. The rooms were spotless and all amenities were there too. We had a B&B stay. The breakfast was lovely, I’m a very fussy eater so I didn’t fancy what was on the menu so I asked for poached eggs and bread on the 3 occasions. It was cooked to perfection. On the last morning I didn’t fancy juice, only still water so my husband asked for some still water and we got it. We’d a lovely breakfast, left when we were done. It was checkout time and we were paid in full. But then when our car arrived and we were in it a staff member came running out to us saying we owed them money. I felt so embarrassed. It turned out we hadn’t paid for the bottle of still water (that we thought was part of our breakfast) In my opinion I thought it was so unprofessional for such a hotel. Read less

The suites are very big and spacious, the spa very reasonably priced and an excellent experience, the breakfasts were very good and the restaurant is excellent. There is a bar, balcony and pool on the 4th floor, which I also enjoyed. It is a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and there are guards strategically placed to be able to watch for tourists. We did not have any problems at all while there, but did not walk after dark. The hop on hop off buses go right by the hotel. Read less
