The breakfast buffet was wonderful; my kids enjoyed all the small plates and my son asked for some olives and received a jar full! Comfortable beds and my kids enjoyed the large bath. Wonderful base to explore the waterfront. My kids decided to swim as the pool was heated and staff opened up pool just for us and set up loungers etc. We treated ourselves and felt sufficiently spoilt. Read less

Anniversary weekend. We opted to stay at the Table Bay Hotel for this special occassion. Anniversary weekend. We opted to stay at the Table Bay Hotel for this special occassion. Our first room was not fully functional, the Nespresso machine would not dispense water and the kettle did not switch on. There was also a half used open water in the fridge from a previous guest - not a good start. The duty manager did upgrade us to apologise - Thank you. The overall standard does not however lean towards the 5 Star ranking that this hotel has held gor so many years. Many items are no longer available (not Covid relsted items). This is not what you expect from a 5 Star hotel. We can definitely see and feel a downturn from our previous stays here. Not sure that we will stay here again. Nothing really good to say other than the usual. Rethink your booking if you are wanting 5 star treatment. Read less

The hotel stands in a fantastic location in the V&A Waterfront, adjacent to the historical breakwater and with a great view from the harbor and the Table Mountain – which you get to admire from the restaurant. Also, the Hotel has a direct communication with the Victoria and Alfred Wharf, a good mall located in the waterfront. It is, indeed a 5* hotel, but not a magnificent one. Breakfast is good, but not sophisticated – and the service was clearly affected by the pandemic. The rooms are spacious, but the shower is poorly installed, so anyone taller than 6ft would need some gymnastics in order to fit under the shower. On two occasions, the hotel was not able to accommodate all the guests in the restaurant for breakfast, which is not something you would expect from a “luxury hotel”. The gym also needs improvements and perhaps a new area. Chelsea and Ryan, the concierges, were absolutely fantastic. In summary, a good choice, but not the only one. Read less
