First and foremost, I’d like to compliment all the staff who were absolutely charming and very attentive. The hotel has a superb location and views but unfortunately it is trading too hard on that and not sufficiently compensating for what lacks inside. The hotel has a superb location and views but unfortunately it is trading too hard on that and not sufficiently compensating for what lacks inside. I have no doubt that it would have been “the” place to be when it first opened but staying there now, feels rather dated. Having said that if you’re just looking for a base in the V&A and not too fussed about the rest, then it’s perfect - but from our perspective we would have just as happily extended our stay in Camps Bay and just taken the 15 mins taxi to the V&A. The breakfast was also a big disappointment and not commensurate with a hotel of the standard it is aiming for - think lines of people hoarding around buffet stations and understaffed service. This hotel has so much potential but just needs some TLC to bring it back to its glory days. Read less

Such a beautiful hotel with so much character and charm. Big rooms with a lot of wardrobe and drawer space. We had a mountain view room. The lobby area is stunning and sitting outside in the garden overlooking the sea with a cocktail in the evening was so peaceful. The best part is the location, as it is situated in the waterfront area and so we could walk everywhere in the evenings and felt safe. Although we didn't use it, the pool and jacuzzi area on the roof was lovely and there is a bar there too. Recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. Read less

The staff are so attentive and professional. The breakfast buffet staff were helpful and their food selection was varied and delicious. We had dinner twice and the food was very good. Housekeeping was top notch as well. On our last day; we booked a packed breakfast. When we checked out at 5 am, our breakfast was not there. We had to wait for more than 30 minutes to no avail. Overally, our stay was wonderful and we would go back again. Read less

Stayed Feb. 16-18, 2020. Gorgeous rooms and wonderful food. Service was incredible. Highly recommend. Location near to shopping mall and many restaurants, with a view of the wharf. Wonderful!! Took a peninsula tour, a tour of the vineyards, and a tour of Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held along with other political prisoners.

This was a beautiful hotel well located right on the Waterfront. Very friendly and helpful staff. Special thanks to Dumi the front desk manager who dealt with my concerns about the room we given, sorting this out in an efficient and professional manner. Her assistance whilst we were there was very much appreciated. Sharlane the concierge who provided no end of advise, booked our trip to Robben Island, Table mountain and our car rental, is an asset to the hotel, thank you. Bradley leads a good team in the bar where the service is good. He was also knowledgeable about the wines on offer. There were a number of other members of staff who provided good service such Ngiyezi who was based at the pool, Nelly who served us out on the terrace, Zandile who served us at breakfast. Breakfast was lovely, the choice was impressive including sparkling wine, sushi, oysters. We enjoyed dinner in the Camissa restaurant but service was slow even though the restaurant was almost empty. The food was delicious, perhaps preparing it took a long time? All I think this hotel lacks, is a live band and somewhere to dance. We found it a tad quiet in the evenings and we did not always want to go elsewhere in the evenings after a long day of sight seeing. That said, I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you team Table Bay Hotel. Read less
