Check in was good-room service-very bad-I had to call three times to remind them(on whatever I wanted) which is very unfair-I have stayed in a 3 star hotel and the service is better than what I received here at a 5 star hotel which is not cheap-did I get bad service because am a single black woman paying for myself??? Would I come back-NO!

I often stay here. It is so superior with the level of service. the location to the mall, the excellent breakfast, the small attention to detail. I can really recommend staying here. The check inn staff are just the best. Loved my mountain facing room.

5 star luxury, style, opulence, location plus, especially in the coming cold months. Walk onto the second floor and you are in the shopping mall. Worth paying extra and get the room with the magnificent views of the Table Mountain. Buffet break and high tea, are sheer indulgence

My establishment hosted a guest chef from Dar es Salam. Last Thursday he asked me to take him to the Table Bay for breakfast as he heard it was the best breakfast in Africa. We arrived at the hotel and attempted to get service. I had to find a waiter in the lounge only to be told we had to go to the main breakfast room. We approached the desk and the 2 ladies at the door told us we were not allowed to eat breakfast as the hotel was too busy. I explained we had driven from Stellenbosch and the website also didn't say the hotel didn't allow outside guests for breakfast. After a little persuasion they allowed us to walk through the room. Finding many tables un used. They did not seem that busy. We were directed back to the lounge for breakfast. Were once again we were told by the server to go to the main room. Obviously they did not want our business. I was so embarrassed. We went to Tashas and had breakfast there. Later we went for a drink at the Table Bay as I parked there. Once again we had to wait for 15 min until we decided to pay for the parking and leave. The receptionist also was not too concerned about the situation saying she would bring it to management but clearly did not want to deal with the drama. Suffice to say, Chef Ali and I did not get bad service. We received no service. Read less

Not cheap but worth the premium. Great location at the end of the V & A dock with great views across to Table Mountain. Rooms are traditional but well appointed and comfortable. Service was excellent and breakfast was magnificent.
