The spa is disappointing as one would expect a sea view in this beautiful location and they could not accommodate treatments for us as guests. Also, breakfast ends sharply at 10:30 which is so early if you intend to linger and enjoy the morning. No oysters were served as usual when we were there, but all in all one of my favorite places to stay in Cape Town. Away from it all but close enough if you want to go to town. Read less

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The 12 Apostles Hotel on our holiday to Cape Town. What an absolute hidden jewel this hotel is! From the moment that we arrived at the hotel until we checked out, we were treated with friendly courtesy and professionalism by all staff. The luxury suite we were upgraded to was beautiful and also helped to make our stay even more perfect. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, had fabulous ocean views and a very comfortable bed. The Leopard Bar quickly became our favourite place to visit, day and night. The bar staff are friendly and efficient, and there’s a wide range of drinks and food. Watching the sunset from the bar is a must and the live music in the evenings was great (Louise in particular was so talented). Byron is a wizard at making amazing cocktails so make sure you ask for one. The Cafe Grill was a laid back cafe to eat in and Azure Restaurant was fine dining without being pretentious. The hotel staff were always so helpful and friendly, from waiters to cleaners to doormen, right through to the senior staff. Three staff in particular stood out to us and we feel they should be acknowledged. Dane, Byron and Aphiwe were simply amazing! They were so helpful, available at short notice, warmly receptive to our endless questions and are assets to the hotel. Their recommendations of places to see and eat helped us arrange our days, working at round the ever changing weather. Dane’s organisational skills were second to none and he was able to arrange so many trips and outings for us with limited notice. Thank you for providing us with such wonderful stay and great memories. We are definitely planning on returning one day soon and recommend The 12 Apostles to anyone visiting Cape Town. Read less

Nestled on a hillside at the 12 Apostles mountain range, this hotel is first class all the way. Wonderfully helpful staff, terrific food, very comfortable rooms. It sits 15 minutes outside the heart of Cape Town in Camps Bay. Beautiful ocean views. Wonderful spa amenities. Good value for the American traveler.

My now wife, Natalie, and I had the privilege of being married at the 12 Apostles in February this year. 23 February seems like just the other day for us, and this review has been rewritten in our minds 1000 times. How does one adequately compliment and share ones gratitude to the show-stopping 12 Apostles?! A venue which is beyond spectacular, food that is out of this world and service fit for Royalty. We simply cannot hope to express how our experience with 12A has impacted us. All the expected grandeur of having our wedding at 12A was somehow still exceeded… yet it was the exuberance, sincerity and fun-loving nature of their team which floored us. Having started our journey with the bubbly Stephanie, we quickly realised this was no copy-paste wedding package (as was sadly our experience with several top wedding venues), but rather a facilitator of creating the wedding of our dreams. And as cliché as that might sound, having a person genuinely excited (and determined) to create a one of a kind experience for you is mind-blowing. After a short and seamless encounter with Alana, once Stephanie went to grow her family, we were connected with Sally, whom we met a mere 6 weeks before the big day. Sally is the kind of special you only hope to find once in a lifetime. She went above and well beyond her duties of 12A, and became a close friend and an almost bridesmaid-like addition to Nats & I … her excitement, support and generosity managed to surpass many of our own bridal party. We have actually delayed collecting the few bottles of wine left post wedding to overlap with Sally’s return from her overseas trip so that we could have the opportunity to see her and connect. From happily delaying dinner with her husband to practice walking down the aisle with Natalie (this was around 7pm) so that she could work out timing to her entrance song, to joining us for our food tasting, which turned into a pseudo social dinner which too went on beyond 7pm, to her personal emails (nothing copy paste) counting down the days with true excitement… Sally was simply perfect beyond! When your guests make a point to mention how amazing your planner is, it speaks volumes. Sally embraced our quirkiness (Star War Theme song for our entrance kind of quirky) and doubled-down on her efforts to make our wedding one to remember. She took our requests for big food for big guys (many old rugby colleagues as guests) as a challenge-accepted, managed to make Aperol Spritz welcome drinks fit into our tight budget, and loved our odd idea of having a midnight food course, which lasted all of 20min… Some may have called us crazy, picky, over-the-top yet Sally jumped on our horse and yeehaw’d into the sunset with us. Her effort to include our personal touches to make it our own was extraordinary. Sally’s final ’trick’ was solving the problem of a faulty aircon unit, which had gone on the blink in our honeymoon suite, which was also needed for my groomsman and I to get dressed. This happened as we arrived to get ready, on 30 degree day....disaster right?! But no.... How this was pulled off I do not know… but Sally took us upstairs and opened the Presidential Suite, which was also to be our home after the celebrations! We were not worthy, but happily accepted! Jaw dropping. And where timing is everything, Sally only told Natalie this on the way to signing our register. WOW! While the question of how do you compliment the 12 Apostles still eluding us, we can only offer the most grateful of thank you's to Sally and the incredible team for welcoming us into the 12A family. We were, and still are every time we visit, made to feel so unbelievably special - like a home away from home. Read less
