Perfect location in secure area. Spacious room with comfortable beds and spectacular bathrooms. Friendly service from staff made our stay as comfortable as possible. Three restaurants to choose from with fine food and wine. Will definitely be back.

Pathetic service. The manager Odette was very rude to my family she didn’t even attempt to try make a plan for us to get seating inside when there were very clearly tables. The food took forever but Clarisa our waitress was very attentive and helped us make a plan.

I have been in hotels around the world, in more than 80 countries, and the Vineyard is one of my favorite hotels. Through a bit of luck, I ended up with a Mountain View Suite, which is certainly grand and has amazing views. So perhaps that colored my view. But the rest of the hotel is pretty great as well. The food at its three restaurants was uniformly excellent; the bar was cozy; the spa offers great massages at a bargain price. The grounds are lovely, even in the dead of winter. The staff is friendly and professional. The hotel is filled with history and historical artifacts. Since it's spread out (no higher than two stories), some might find it to be a bit of a walk to get to their room. It's located on the other side of Table Mountain, but I did not find that to be a problem -- downtown was just a 15-20 minute Uber ride away (at remarkably low prices.) And this means you are close to the vineyards. The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, one of the great botanic gardens of the world, is also just five minutes drive away. I was here on business but the next time I visit Cape Town for pleasure, I will surely stay here. Read less
