I was a woman alone in Cape Town for work. It was a joy to stay at the Vineyard in a lovely room with a view of Table Mountain; definitely worth the extra for the outlook. Lovely gardens, very good food in both the Square and garden lounge, not so enthusiastic about Myoga restaurant. The tortoises in the gardens were delightful. I'd love to return.

A very relaxing place, welcoming and smiling staff that accommodate you pleasantly in a very busy restaurant that didn't take long to serve though. After lunch we took a tour of the magnificent gardens with their beautiful flowers and bridges, squirrels and turtles, lakes and running waters. Sat on a bench just listening to the music made by the sounds of nature. A very enjoyable, relaxing afternoon that I intend to repeat. Read less

We knew this hotel well as we used to live in Claremont but we had never stayed before. We have moved to Century City & wanted to use Myoga Restaurant & to be able to enjoy a bottle of wine without driving home so we booked a courtyard room. The rooms & corridors leading to the rooms are very tired, our room on the ground floor was very dark even with all the lights on,the entrance door was scruffy & the wardrobes were the same, the doors did not fit properly & were dark brown which does not help the general dark & dull appearance of the room, but to have to put on lights during the day does not give much privacy from other rooms being able to peer in.I drew the blackout curtains after having to hook the end hook in as it was hanging off, these are the sort of things that should be checked when the room is serviced. My husband wanted to take a bath as he has just had a pacemaker fitted & could not get the dressing wet,we asked for a plug as no plugs are provided, we ran the bath but as soon as my husband got in & turned off the tap we could hear the water running away & within a few minutes it was empty. On closer examination of the plug the usual O ring which seals around the plug had been replaced by an elastic band which obviously was not a decent substitute! we are fully aware of the water crisis which Cape Town has but this plug was a false economy as we wasted a whole bath of water, eventually after a couple of phone calls another plug was obtained & we ran another bath.We left our towels on the towel rail which we thought would indicate that we were perfectly happy to reuse them in the morning but the turn down service replaced them both, this is not a water saving measure. The shower door needs adjusting as it bangs every time it is shut & the bathroom door slams shut also. We had not advertised the fact that it was my husbands birthday but the hotel had noted the fact from the ID we gave when we registered & the manager sent birthday greetings & a bottle of Champagne which was a very nice gesture We had a light lunch in the garden area which was lovely, the outside areas are beautiful & always have been, we had a lovely dinner in Myoga with charming waitrons which we enjoyed. Breakfast in The Square restaurant was very good. Overall we were disappointed with the room which was far from luxurious as advertised with a mish mash of tired looking furniture. The bed was comfortable. Read less

I often meet my clients here as it's peaceful, calm and just beautiful. It's like being in Kirstenbosch gardens but in the suburbs. Nothing quite beats this for me. Service is always excellent, food is consistently good and either inside or outside you will feel comfortable and taken care of.
