Image of the Tripadvisor rating 50th wedding anniversary

My aunt and uncle went back to the venue for their wedding reception to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The conference facilities are fantastic and the quality of the food on offer was great. The gardens at the hotel are wonderful as your can walk around peacefully to enjoy the beautiful setting.

Loved the tea pairing which is also very well priced. Afterwards taking a stroll around the beautiful gardens is a must! There are numbered tortoises to spot!. It's a pity you can't book for the garden lounge.

I particularly loved eating breakfast in the outdoor area with the magnificent view of the back of Table Mountain. There is also a lovely river walk to enjoy the gardens. The restaurants staff were polite and friendly, the food great. The overall conference experience was also excellent. I also loved that the bathrooms had refillable soap, lotion etc. avoiding the multiple of small plastic bottles that end up as environmental waste. Well done the Vineyard hotel. Read less

We enjoyed a rather yummy breakfast at the gardens restaurant to celebrate our adult daughter’s birthday. What a stunning venue with beautiful gardens to walk through and a riverside walk too. They also have huge resident tortoises walking around that are quite tame and used to people. Quite a highlight. The food was delicious. Some had the buffet… Read more

They also have huge resident tortoises walking around that are quite tame and used to people. Quite a highlight. The food was delicious. Some had the buffet and others enjoyed ordering a la carte. A rather pleasant menu. The Vineyard Hotel was originally Lady Ann Barnard’s home and also the first English style house to be built in South Africa. Read less

This hotel has everything you want in a five star hotel but retains the feel of an intimate boutique hotel. I was not surprised to learn the hotel is not part of a chain but is family owned. And it shows. The attention to detail. The extremely politeness. The efficiency. The kindness. I tried hard to think of a fault. Couldn’t find one. It’s set… Read more
This hotel has everything you want in a five star hotel but retains the feel of an intimate boutique hotel. I was not surprised to learn the hotel is not part of a chain but is family owned. And it shows. The attention to detail. The extremely politeness. The efficiency. The kindness. I tried hard to think of a fault. Couldn’t find one. It’s set in a winning location - a rich and spectacular indigenous garden with a dramatic backdrop of Table Mountain. You walk out on the Terrace and you can only gasp. Then there’s the gorgeous pool and fitness center. You can eat right there and partake in the amazingly delicious food. Or eat on the Terrace and stare at the mountain. Or inside and enjoy gracious and interesting dining. The breakfast was included. Never had such a spread. It would keep you going the whole day. Or, you can stop at the coffee bar and get fantastic coffee and scrumptious pastries instead. From the moment you arrive, friendly faces greet you. They’re not fake. The guys out front, the concierge, reception, cleaners, baristas, servers, gardeners, fitness instructors, waiters. They’re uniformly polite and friendly. Service is 100% consistent at every level. Oh, and it’s ridiculously cheap by American standards. Four nights cost less than $200 a night. Out of season yes but even in season it’s still reasonable - a bit over $200 a night. The Vineyard is in the suburbs and away from Cape Town hub and the swanky Waterfront with its flashy and pricey hotels. I’d take this any time. Read less
