It all depends on your expectations. We stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and were sadly very disappointed. We had booked a 'suite' and ended up staying in room 5, which was a family room, based over two floors, which was very dated, dark and overlooked the car park. It was by far the worst accommodation we had during our stay in SA. The receptionist admitted that the hammocks shown on the website no longer existed, so please be aware that what is shown on the website isn't a real representation. After complaining and sleeping in the room for one night we were moved to a garden suite which was better, but which sadly didn't make up for our initial disappointment. The food was poor and expensive compared to local restaurants which offered much better produce and service and in general felt mass produced. The 'communal dining' is a 50 seat restaurant with most couples sat in a smaller uninspiring side room which is very dated. The service is ok but nothing boutique or luxurious about it. This is best described as a 3 star package hotel stuck in the '90s. Read less

Nothing was too much trouble and service was always with a huge smile. We had great fun watching the South Africa v Japan World Cup Rugby match with some of the staff popping in and out. A game to remember. Also a great base for all the activities of Plettenberg, from whale watching to MonkeyWorld, Birds of Eden, etc Thank you, Hog Hollow, you’re a gem. Read less

We stayed here for 2 nights but should have done more! Situated in the Crags above Plettenberg Bay this property is different and charming, offering stunning views. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to the 3 bedroom villa and WOW what a place. With its own infinity swimming pool with amazing views over the foliage below. Monkeys roam the gardens and came in the morning to visit. The rooms have the ability to have a BBQ cooked for you on your own deck. This is a fantastic experience and great value, at the villa you have the benefit of a fire pit and the choice of eating in the dining/kitchen area or out on the terrace. Breakfasts here were huge with a wide choice of fruits and cakes followed by a selection of cooked breakfasts. So many things to do are within a 10-minute drive such as wine tasting, elephant experience, monkey land, and the bird sanctuary. For the thrill-seekers, there is bungy jumping, paragliding, river rafting you name it there is something for everyone. If you are looking for a good beach then consider Keurboom Beach. Perfect for catching some rays but equally a stunning beach to walk. The staff are equally attentive and welcoming offering help and suggestions on how to get the best from your stay. Easy to find and a perfect stop on the Garden Route. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, just book one more night than you think! Read less

Beautiful place to stay for a relaxed atmosphere & great service. We stayed for 3 nights & only saw a couple of monkeys on one occasion., no snakes or spiders! The staff were friendly & helpful & the food was nice.
