You are greeted with such genuine warmth by the staff you are made to feel very special. The communal rooms and large terrace are inviting and welcoming and the individual lodges are charming, comfortable and well appointed. This got our vote for the best breakfast of any of the lovely places we stayed in South Africa - which is no mean feat. We also ate here two evenings and the food was delicious. The lovely ladies on reception were helpful in their advice and recommendations as where best to go during our days there. We will always have very fond memories of our stay at Hog Hollow Lodge. From washing your car to offering to tumble dry your damp clothes, nothing is too much trouble. It’s discreet, polite and utterly charming. The setting is captivating with fabulous views across the valley. Rooms are spacious, frequently serviced and have lovely balconies. The pool area is also lovely with plenty of sun beds and space to stretch out. The food is good and there is plenty of it; breakfast is an absolute treat. The location is ideal for those looking to explore the Garden Route with Plettenberg an easy 10 minute drive away. If you are looking for accommodation within the Plettenberg area then I would look no further than Hog Hollow. The Garden Route has plenty of good value accommodation but this has to be one of the best - for service alone I would give this place 5*. Read less
