Stayed for 3 nights. Even if room is OK I need to highlight a real bad service. Arrogant at the check-in and waited 30min for a lunch with empty restaurant. Sauna is not real sauna, just a room with an electric heating system. I will not return and I do not recomment to stay.

We stayed here probably for the last time. The Hotel lost its glory and now Hilton pulls out of this property mid 2024 with no alternative options in Sandton/Johannesburg from the Hilton Group. The service was showing that it is 'end of life'. A sad affair considering what it used to be. Read less

On the second stay guests were asked to conserve water due to local shortages, understood no problem. Was a bit shocked when we saw the pool attendant sorting through the dirty pool towels and re-folding them and putting them back in the clean pile without being laundered! I did point this out to a manager who just happened to be in the area at the time. …….We did learn on our third stay the hotel will no longer be a Hilton after July 1st. …….hotel looking a bit tired needs an update Read less

We spent two nights here on our way through Johannesburg and upon our return from Pretoria. It is a lovely hotel. We took the train from the Airport to Sandton and this worked well, the hotel is a bit of walk and on our second visit we took a taxi from the Sandton train station to the hotel. There is a hotel shuttle that goes to and from the Nelson Mandela Square shopping area, which is 800 meters away. Do use the shuttle, this area is Ok to walk in during the day, but not at night. Our room was nicely appointed, although oddly enough it did not have a hair dryer, kind of odd but not a problem. On our return from Pretoria, I was looking forward to spending a little time in the lovely pool area, unfortunately on that day, the pool had a bit of a problem and the water was quite cloudy and murky. I opted just to lounge by the pool rather than swim, still a very relaxing experience. We had one lunch and two breakfasts at the Tradewinds restaurant in the hotel and the food was good. In summary, a good place to stay if you are in Johannesburg. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Read less
