Among the Leadwood trees of Kruger National Park, and by the banks of the dry Mluwati River, six thatched domes sprout from the bush. The result is an intimate and memorable space to return to after safari game-drives to see the 'Big Five'. These rustic yet luxurious rondavels may feel traditional, with their earthy tangerine tones, organic materials, and geometric design details, but contemporary wood and glass panels unfold to reveal private decks, giving a modern twist that’s replicated in traveller touches like Hoyo Hoyo’s infinity edged pool, post-safari wellness treatments, and high teas with cakes and pastries.

We truly felt home and we couldn't have a better place to spend our honeymoon. The attention to detail and of course our special room was extraordinary. Every staff member greets you by your name and it is really nice and intimate. The Hoyo-Hoyo team is certainly a family. The game drives was extremely informative and guide Jason really makes it a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely go back, not to anywhere else but Hoyo-Hoyo.

We returned from our stay at HOYO HOYO lodge 2 weeks ago and I am shocked to see the most recent review moaning about the lack of Wifi!! What the heck did you bother going out into the remote African bush for to spend all your time chasing Wifi.! Surely the whole point is to immerse yourself in the wonderful wildlife and cultural experience on offer. We had the best holiday of our lives here and yes we have traveled a lot! From the start the staff were welcoming and friendly and could not do enough for us. The fact the lodge is unfenced meant we were able to see the animals very close up and added a little excitement to the experience knowing they could wander around the whole area at their will. But i must emphasize that at NO point did we ever feel in danger. The small number of guests (max 12) meant it was peaceful and a place to reflect on the nature surrounding you. We took our 2 daughters aged 18 and 22 the youngest being totally addicted to Wifi when at home but she never made a single complaint as she immersed herself in the experience. The detached thatched rooms are beautiful, romantic and atmospheric. The food is delicious and plentiful we all gained weight! The staff very friendly getting to know immediately all our names and preferences for drinks etc. Our safari guide Victor was AMAZING! He looked after us 100% tending to our every need. His knowledge of the wildlife was incredible and he frequently stopped to check tracks, find bird calls on his ipad for us, pointing out animals that we would have completely missed! and made the whole experience so so special. We feel we have made a friend for life. I am not normally in the habit of writing gushing, soppy reviews. In fact quite the opposite I can be quite hard to please. But on this occasion I cannot imagine how anyone could find fault with HOYO HOYO. It is truly magical.
Cannot recommend it highly enough.
False claims of Wifi, bad service

WARNING: THEY LIE ABOUT HAVING WIFI. We reserved two rooms in the hotel for 3 nights through Expedia, and 2 other friends reserved through a travel agency in Mexico, through the operator Bedsonline operator 1 room. Both in Expedia and in Bedsonline factsheet mentioned the hotel has Wifi as an amenity. Having wifi is very important to all of our party of 6 since we all have our businesses, work, and 3 members have kids back in Mexico. We cannot be disconnected from our work, specially being a business owner, it is already difficult enough dealing with the 7-hour difference from Mexico to South Africa, and then not even being able to communicate. In our filter search we took in account only hotels that had wifi. If we would’ve known that Hoyo Hoyo didn’t have wifi we would have never made a reservation. Wifi is not an amenity for us, it is a necessity, as business owners we have to make payments, we have to solve problems in our business, we cannot just disappear without notice. Can you imagine being a single mother to a 6-year old boy and suddenly disappearing and not answering? Your kid might think something happened to you in a game drive in the Safari. We are appalled by the lack of help from your staff and they lies you have told. The staff tried to blame is all on Expedia, however there are two operators with proof that you claim to have wifi, so it proof they lie. They just act like its not their problem. We have been to South Africa before, and we know there are hotels with good wifi, we are not asking for something that does not exist.
We complained about the lies of no wifi and the staff answered that many guests complain because they reserve thinking there is wifi and there isn’t. Clearly, the hotel chain does not care about lying to their clients, this is considered fraud; to intentionally mislead their clients to gain more clients with false pretenses. I took a video undercover of the administrator of your hotel Hoyo Hoyo saying that they’ve told Expedia that Hoyo Hoyo does not have wifi and that it is fully uncommunicated from the rest of the world and that Expedia has ignored them, completely putting the blame in Expedia and fully ignoring their responsibility, which you know is there photos do not look like the real thing. If you actually NEED wifi to work while you travel NEVER stay there. Staff was grumpy and unhelpful, I never go out of my way to make this type of review, you can see all my reviews in Expedia, I always praise hotels, but this is unacceptable. You are in the middle of nowhere, you cant go to a hotel next door, you are stuck. We were lucky enough to find rooms at hour past hotel Kings Camp (which btw is AMAZING, food, service, everything), which saved our vacation.
Amazing place but more information needed

We made the booking throught SANparks website. Even though we asked, we weren't aware of what was included until the moment that we were leaving. We left thinking that we could've had a better experience and value for what we paid for.
