What a wonderful place - the villas are absolutely beautifully appointed, the entire place, including the main dining area just gorgeously decorated. However, the biggest delight was the food - it was exceptional - certainly a massive surprise and beyond anything one would expect in the middle of the Kruger Park!

Stayed at Jock for 3 nights, having 5 game drives and it didn’t disappoint! We had Mayneth as our Ranger who had a great sense of humour, was good fun and very knowledgeable! My wife and i spent three nights/four days in late January. My wife had never explored wilderness before. I grew up in New York where i could see animals at the Central Park Zoo. So this was a great treat for both of us. We were part of group of 24 people. While a touch rustic (as i should be), the accommodations were excellent; the service… Read more

The highlight, though, were the safari drivers: eagle-eyed, deeply knowledgeable, and very friendly. Jock is not to be missed. Read less

We self drove to the lodge from the airport and Jock's is so well situated we were down the private road near to the lodge and a huge elephant met us in the road around a bend! Later that day a whole herd of around 13 elephant and 2 rhino were at the riverbed which the pool/dining area overlooks. And this was even before any game drives! Our room in the main lodge was beautifully laid out and luxurious, and the day bed outside was made up for us so we could also sleep outside for two of our nights. There was a storm but we didn't get wet and it added to the excitement to hear animals rustling below in the night. The food was plentiful. In fact, there was too much! We were never hungry and it was all very fresh and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the braai on our final night with the whole lodge. Micah was our ranger and he was ace. The rangers do talk to each other to get info of where the animals are at. He has a great intuitive sense of when to move to get a great view. He also took us to one of the most beautiful locations for a break - on top of a huge high rock looking down on the national park at sunset. It was like nowhere else I have been. Thanks so much Micah, Carrots and the rest of the team at Jock's. Read less

We spent two days here at Jock and can honestly say from start to finish it was an unbelievable experience. Every one of the staff are so nice and hospitable. The rooms were amazing and absolutely exceeded all our expectations. The breakfast, lunch and dinner is phenomenal. The lodge itself is situated on the edge of a river bank, when we were there it was dry but every night you can hear the lions passing through it and roaring which is exactly the experience we wanted. Our ranger was Micha and he was possibly the most amazing person I’ve ever met in terms of his knowledge about the park and animals. He was able to spot leopards camouflaged in trees which is extremely difficult to do and we saw the BIG 5 in less than 24 hours but it was all down to Micha tracking the animals movement and knowing where to go. Whoever owns Jock need to give this man a knighthood because he is exceptional! As for Blessing (masseuse) and blessing (manager I think!), carrots, Phil and the rest of the staff, you all made our stay something we’ll never forget. Read less
