The rangers are incredible and their love of nature, the bush and the animals is self evident. Everyone here is proud of what they do and it shows. My ranger Mayneth was brilliant. You will forget about all your troubles and be totally relaxed within 10 minutes of your arrival. Go! Read less

We bookend the smaller dependence lodge Fitzpatrick. Only 3 rooms, very personal, we loved it. Benedict our dinner waiter and David our Safari guide were absolutely professional. We also managed to book through the lodge tee times at Leopards Creek and the golf course was just a dream.

I cannot rave about this lodge enough. From start to finish, everything was beyond fantastic, and the cost compared to other lodges of this caliber was very reasonable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and our accommodations were clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The food was outstanding - we felt like we were constantly being fed delicious food, and the dinners were set with lovely ambiance. Then there were the drives. Our ranger was amazing, and we saw SO MUCH. He saw and found things that we never would have seen had we been driving around on our own. These are highly trained guides and trackers, and we were able to get so close to the wildlife while still feeling incredibly safe. He was also impressively knowledgeable about not only animals, but plants and geology as well. The jeeps were comfortable, great for viewing, and even equipped with warm blankets if it got chilly. We wish that we could have stayed for much longer, and we will never forget our time here. What an experience! So grateful to every member of the staff at Jock for an unforgettable time. Read less

We had an excellent 3 day stay, and saw the big 5 plus many much more wildlife. Our safari driver Yan was very knowledgeable, and brilliant at searching for the animals with the help of the other 4 vehicles. The food was fantastic and plentiful.

We stayed at the Fitzpatrick at Jock Lodge and could not be more happy with our stay. You get extremely personal attention from friendly, accommodating staff in a setting that is out of this world. The accommodations were very nice and the food was excellent. Everything was so nice you hated to leave to go on safari (not really, but it was paradise). The real treat was the diversity and abundance of game. Our ranger, David, was very personable and knowledgeable, but his greatest attribute was that he went out of his way to show us the things we wanted to see! We were specifically wanting to see leopards and boy did we see leopards. Our first trip out we located two separate leopards lounging in a dry river bed, the next day we found a leopard on a kill in a tree and the third day we saw a leopard at a water hole, the photos we got were amazing. In our quest to see leopards we saw numerous game at incredibly short distances. David took great care to give us a great experience while respecting the needs of the animals and the habitat. If you are going to experience Kruger at its natural and unspoiled best we highly recommend Jock Lodge! Read less
