Gorgeous place to stay right near the gate to Kruger National Park. We spent 2 days camping in the park, so this was a lovely treat. Highly recommend a few nights here, you won't be disappointed.

It’s a bucket list must! We planned this holiday for months and rightly so, it was in my top 3 best experiences I’ve ever had, to see the big 5 and lots of others …too many to mention it was breathtaking to say the least! The hotel is well equipped for guests and most cannot do enough for you, the setting is beautiful and there are wild animals living around the grounds that you can see close up, the gardens are kept beautifully and the rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard, the food was very good, but the puddings were on a different level, all home made and irresistible, most nights I could have skipped dinner and go straight to pudding! the lady that bakes them is usually there too and she seemed real happy that I commented on her delicious food. We was there in the winter time so it gets cold at night, at the dining area they have fires dotted around to keep you warm and sing a beautiful tune for a birthday guest getting all the staff involved was a nice touch, we have a few issues with our excursions that was arranged from outside the hotel, but Sarah the relations manager went above and beyond to try to help us, something she didn’t have to do as the issue was not with the hotel, I cannot that her enough for helping us. The cleaning staff were great and catered for all our requests for additional water and shampoo, the rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms were large and they have the Kruger national park story printed in the shower door, brilliant idea! When we went out on the early morning safari the hotel did a pack lunch for us, the food was lovely in particular the chicken mayonnaise sandwich……top class quality and lots to eat , brilliantly packed too. There is water freely available and every trip you are offered water which was very good…….My only 2 negative comments is that there was a lot of staff at the Kruger hotel as the county is very poor meaning lots of unemployment, most of the staff were fantastic but there was a few that could have smiled a little more, the bar in particular, the staff there were not very friendly at all and even though it wasn’t busy, left you waiting to be served, and when you was served it certainly wasn’t with a smile, it’s a shame really as the set up was lovely, and there was a section in the restaurant where 2 chefs were cooking some sort of pudding and sandwich with marshmallows….when we asked what they were the 2 men didn’t come across as friendly at all and despite the food being lovely then men let the side down with there negativity attitude towards us. All in all the whole set up of the hotel was fantastic and with only 2 negatives I think you can overcome this as the rest of the hotel superseded them……if you want to do a safari then choose the Kruger gate hotel, you won’t be disappointed Read less
