Ulusaba has 20 rooms and suites spread over 2 exquisite lodges. Safari Lodge has a fantastic bush location built along the banks of a dry river bed and offers a selection of Elephant Rooms, a Safari Room, River Rooms, a Treehouse Suite and the new Safari Suite. All with private entrances and terraces providing incredible views of passing animals on their way to the nearby waterhole, air conditioning, ceiling fan, minibar (restocked daily), a sitting area and en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower.

The Safari Room is located close to the main building and has a large viewing deck, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

All Inclusive of: all food and beverages - including top quality wine list, premium branded spirits and French Champagne. Twice daily-game drives, daily walking safari (subject to favourable weather conditions), local entertainment, laundry service and transfers from Ulusaba air strip.

Elephant Rooms are 'treehouse style' built high above the bush and mostly accessed by swing bridges, sleeping maximum 2 adults. As the name suggests they are great for elephant viewing with their location being on a elephant migratory route!

River Rooms have the same facilities as an Elephant Room and 2 of the River Rooms have infinity plunge pools, sleeping maximum 2 adults. River Rooms are very secluded making them the perfect romantic bush getaway.

The Treehouse Suite is a stunning, unique suite featuring a private deck with magnificent views over Xikwenga Dam where hippos and elephants come to bathe. Perfect for honeymooners, sleeping maximum 2 adults. The suite is a 10-minute walk from the main lodge and is accessible by swing bridges and raised walkways.

Safari Suite - this private suite is next to the Main Lodge and is accessed through its own entrance into a walled garden with boma fire pit. There is a separate spacious lounge that opens onto a large viewing deck with jacuzzi plunge pool, outdoor shower and private dining table for maximum 8 adults. The suite boasts an en-suite bathroom with a separate toilet and an additional guest bathroom next to the lounge. The Safari Suite can be interconnected with the Safari Room to sleep maximum 4 adults.

A stunning place

As you reach Safari lodge, there is a sign on the wall which says Heaven on Earth, this is truly heaven even in the rain. This is my second time at Ulusaba, and it doesn’t disappoint from the service, the food and the accommodation. Don and Vincent were my tracker and guide, both well very informative and made the drive interesting. You will be amazed how close the animals will get to the vehicle the sound of the vehicle does not even bother them. One recommendation is if you’re staying at Safari Lodge make sure you visit the treehouse. This is a raised platform overlooking a watering hole, which attracts a wide variety of animals if you’re lucky you may see the hippos getting out of the water. There were so many highlights to mention, one that will stay in my memory for a very long time as a visit from the bull elephant to the decking on my room. Read less

Amazing!!

This was our first Safari experience and Ulusaba has exceeded all of our expectations. Every detail of the experience was perfect, from the excellent service of the staff to the incredible game drives. This place is truly something special. The small size of the lodge and the warm welcome of the staff made the experience feel very personal. Shoutout to Taeghan and Danielle for their hospitality. The food and drink offerings were incredible with a variety of options. Dinner was extra special, with the head chef presenting a new menu each night along with wine pairings. We particularly enjoyed the family style dinners where we had the opportunity to connect with other lodge guests. We were also celebrating a birthday during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by baking a cake and singing happy birthday. I would also like to mention that the spa was fantastic. Although all aspects of the visit were amazing, the highlight of the trip was the insane animal viewing. We spent 5 nights at rock lodge and went on 2 game drives per day, and each one was completely unique. We were able to see every animal we hoped for, including the big 5, which we saw in the first day alone. Our ranger and tracker, Michael and James, gave us the most amazing safari experience. The two of them were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and we can’t thank them enough for providing us with such an incredible experience. The perfect wedding and experience. Recommend 10/10

Absolute 10/10 in everyway. Safaris: Our guide and tracker (Peter and Respect) were great at their job and made everyone comfortable and happy. I went with my now husband and our families and they did a wonderful job balancing all of the group personalities. We saw everything we wanted to see and more. There is an incredible amount of wildlife on this reserve. We also saw tons of animals around the hotel (for example while eating lunch on the deck, 11 elephants walked right by). I am sure all of the guides are great but if you get Peter and Respect you are in for a treat! Accommodation: We stayed in the four river rooms at safari lodge - all rooms were very large and well equipped. Wedding: We had a small family wedding planned by the lovely Lauren and Anre. They went above and beyond for us (as I am sure they do for all of their guests). I ended up trusting them with a lot of the decisions and could not have been happier (TURST THEM, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!). If you are looking for a unique and special wedding I highly recommend. The staff kept it low stress and truly thought of everything. I forgot something I needed for my outfit and Lauren tracked down exactly what I needed. Anre listened to our story and selected some adorable personal touches to include. As the bride, I felt very well cared for. Food: All 8 of us that attended loved the food. It was fresh and delicious. Lots of healthy options as well. Staff: The staff are truly what make this experience so special. By the time we left we felt like they were family. They go the extra mile for every single guest. Most of the other guests at the hotel were return guests and I now understand why. I can not wait to return!! Read less

Heaven in the bush

I was lucky enough for this to be my second visit. The first was incredible. How could the next live up to the expectation?! But it absolutely did. The lodge is absolutely beautiful. So very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are absolutely stunning and the food, drinks and levels of service are absolutely top notch. However the game drives are the true highlights and for these the absolute stars of the show were Ranger James and Tracker Orange. Every drive was spectacular in terms of sightings, but James and Orange took it to the next level with their obvious love and enthusiasm of the bush and its inhabitants, together with their excitement at the sightings. My Ulusaba experience would not be the same without them. Read less
