Bakubung Bush Lodge is a luxurious safari lodge located in the heart of Pilanesberg National Park, just 10 minutes away from Sun City and two hours from Johannesburg. The lodge offers it's guests comfortable accommodations, incredible game drives and bush walks providing the chance to get up close and personal with the world's big five. There's also great amenities for both couples and families, including; a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and even a wildlife centre. Hotel information

100 rooms and suites all with free Wi-Fi, separate bathroom area, air conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, electric safe and mini bar*. 

Standard Queen Rooms have two queen beds and sleep a maximum of 4 adults. 

Half Board: rates are inclusive of breakfast, dinner & 1 game drive per day (guests can choose morning or afternoon).   

Full Board: includes the above plus the addition of lunch. 

Standard Twin Rooms feature two twin beds and sleep a maximum of 4 adults. 

Standard King Rooms feature one king bed and sleep a maximum of 2 adults.

Luxury King Rooms feature one large size king bed and a separate seating area. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Executive Suites feature a king bed and a bath tub for you to view the surrounding Pilanesberg National Park. Sleeps a maximum of 2 adults.

Conservation Levies are Included in the rates seen for two adults. Children under 12 years old (maximum of 2 children) who accompany parents on an inclusive Game Drive package, would be required to pay Conservation Levies at an additional cost of R40.00 per child per night), including VAT. This is payable upon arrival at the Lodge.

This is my review… Very good hotel… good room with great view and i peacfull place.. Friendly staff… Best buffet dinner and best buffet breakfast…. We also have a safari on early morning they provide coffee and tea before leaving(6 o clock am)… i like this hotel…i recomment you to go…

Stayed for 3 nights in a lodge with the family. Comfortable, clean room with tea making facilities and nice touch of turn down the bed every evening. Great restaurant with good choice of meals, well stocked bar. Very friendly staff throughout complex. Areas of note: Main pool was closed for maintenance work - we weren't advised prior to arriving. There is another small pool a short walk away. Some game drivers are less enthusiastic than others and it can really make or break the experience. In my experience all the vehicles are very noisy which can sometimes frighten the wildlife off. (Could EV/hybrid be considered, quieter, environmentally friendly etc). Leaving on the 6am game drive seemed a little early as extremely dark and no sightings of anything until daylight arrived an hour or so later - could these start even 30 mins later so it doesn't feel like time is wasted? The private vehicles offered their clients a warm "poncho" which was absolutely necessary at 6am in 5 degrees with the "draft" of the vehicles when moving. The lodge included game drives does not offer this so many of our vehicles occupants were freezing cold with little appropriate clothing/gloves packed. The use of "plastic" straws etc was very much in force. Despite our room being booked for 3 people, there were only 2 towels and only 2 cups in the room. The WIFI is shut down on your departure date NOT on departure - so despite leaving the lodge at 1pm - WIFI was unavailable from 8am. A really silly, petty decision to do this to guests when it makes no difference to the lodge! Read less

What an experience we had here ! I cannot say enough about the morning and evening drives, the staff, the spa, the pool, the food, etc. it was my first time to South Africa and I am not sure how I can top it. We saw so many animals it was crazy Choo-Choo and James were are drivers and they knew how to scout the animals. The food provided something for everyone from ice cream to stew. The pool was relaxing mid- day between drives. Make sure you book a spa appointment. This was one of the greatest memories of my life. Read less

Amazing 🤩 Our first time in SA and our first time on a safari. Absolutely brilliant loved every minute. Saw 4 of the 5, only missing was the buffalo, but we did see the poor man’s buffalo 🤣🤣 Staff amazing, food amazing, location amazing. We also did the bush bbq which was brilliant,
