The hotel

This lodge is unique for so many reasons that you’ll begin to forget which one you like the best. For starters, it’s located within one of the world’s largest extinct volcanic complexes and is surrounded by numerous African native animals including: springbok, cheetah, rhino, elephant and lion. The Ivory Tree Lodge has also been upgraded to fully represent contemporary luxury without detracting from the natural environment. A large swimming pool and guest areas are designed to provide relaxation and relief for groups and individuals. Meal times can be enjoyed inside or outside and you’ll be amazed at the fine dining options. Two lounge areas and two bars, one of which serves cocktails, provide the perfect evening location from where to reflect on your day’s adventures in the bush. If you’re looking for further activities, other than a ‘Big Five’ safari, then why not try getting involved with something cultural including interactive drumming sessions.

Could not fault our time at Ivory Tree Game Lodge! My friend and I had been travelling for a year and decided to end our travels with a luxury safari and it certainly did not disappoint. I have been lucky enough to on a number of safaris previously but this was my top rated. I have never seen such an abundance of predators! Also to see a thriving rhino population was incredible. Cannot thank our guide Tanya enough! Amazing. The spa was also incredible, I had a hydro boost facial and couldn’t fault my experience. The staff even chased the monkeys that had trapped me as I was leaving. Every meal, every staff member, every dip in the pool was outstanding! Hope to return in the future. Read less

A great place to have your first or any safari. The lodge itself was great and the staff welcoming and very friendly. The rangers work as a team to ensure every game drive is an adventure. Will stay here again if the opportunity ever arises again.

The highlight for us was going out each day at dawn and dusk to see the iconic animals and bird life in their natural environment, our young guide Cliffort was exceptional in his knowledge of the flora and fauna. We highly recommend a visit to this establishment. Read less
