Ivory Tree Lodge

Pilanesberg, South Africa

The hotel

This lodge is unique for so many reasons that you’ll begin to forget which one you like the best. For starters, it’s located within one of the world’s largest extinct volcanic complexes and is surrounded by numerous African native animals including: springbok, cheetah, rhino, elephant and lion. The Ivory Tree Lodge has also been upgraded to fully represent contemporary luxury without detracting from the natural environment. A large swimming pool and guest areas are designed to provide relaxation and relief for groups and individuals. Meal times can be enjoyed inside or outside and you’ll be amazed at the fine dining options. Two lounge areas and two bars, one of which serves cocktails, provide the perfect evening location from where to reflect on your day’s adventures in the bush. If you’re looking for further activities, other than a ‘Big Five’ safari, then why not try getting involved with something cultural including interactive drumming sessions.

Although food was excellent 2 night buffet felt bit 3 star hotel. Spa treatment was excellent. Game drive was average. Will definately recommend it. Read less

The updated furniture and decor in the rooms were a pleasant surprise. The staff were incredibly attentive and added to the ambiance of a great trip. The game drives were epic , ranger Kyle never disappoints and my son is beguiled by his knowledge and “bush purist attitude” Seeing lion, leopard and a cheetah stalking impala was something that only you tube videos could capture best !!! But the we were blessed to seen the big 5. Thank you Ivory Tree for adding wonderful memories to our family yearbook Read less

They are helpful, warm and lovely to interact with. A special mention goes to Werner , our guide. Full of stories , knowledge and fun to be with. A bonus was great sightings : brown hyenas and two playful servals. And the food ! A loud shout-out to the chefs , presentation and freshness and variety of scrumptious dishes. Thank you so much for the memorable few days we spent there. Read less

Stayed for two nights. The rooms were spacious and clean. Food was amazing. The chef prepared extra food as per our request. Boma dinner experience was the best. Game drive was good. Enjoyed throughly. Highly recommended.
