Sun City Cabanas

Sun City, South Africa

The hotel

The Cabanas hotel is ideal for the whole family, offering relaxed, informal, comfortable accommodation in a lush lakeside setting. The hotel is so-called because the rooms are arranged in cabana-style blocks. Waterworld is Sun City's lake area where you can partake in various water sports, including water-skiing and parasailing, or, for the less adventurous, a gentle cruise is always pleasant. There are many different activities for the children such as the Animal World, Kamp Kwena children's club and an adventure playground. Adults can soak up the sun poolside and enjoy chic cocktails at the Cabanas Pool Deck.

Stayed here for 3 nights a few weeks ago and enjoyed our stay. The rooms aren’t fancy or big however they are still nice and clean. You get free entry into the wave pool, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. You are close to Pilanesberg National Park. Breakfast was really good and had a nice variety of fresh foods, unlike some other buffets… Read more

The hotel receive a lot of guests at weekends hence management seem a bit overwhelmed by the weekend turnout. Our lake facing room had great views of the well maintained gardens and partial lake views. The room is enough for sleeping but not for relaxing. Our family room had a queen sized bed and a sofa bed for the kids. The bed was comfortable but the sofa bed opened into just a mattress on the floor. It is just a small room without any extra space for luggage. Housekeeping was prompt to our call for extra ammenities. The bathroom was small and not clean as well with dirty overused towels. The hotel corridors are unkempt and very dusty. The buffet breakfast was crowded. Checkout was a bit slow due to the high turnover of guests checking out at the same time. Read less

After a full day of excursions you just want a place where you can comfortably get a deep sleep. Cabanas is the right place. Could do better with mineral water in the room as well as warm water for bathing. The breakfast is awesome with so many options and staff are quick and friendly

We have paid R4100 per night for this 3* star hotel, if you can call it that. Food was below average, and so was the service. I have paid these rates for good 4* hotels in the past. We will definetely not return. Overall an average experience, but for my daughter enjoying all the activities at Sun City.
