We visites the palace last week. It was just awesome. Service outstanding! Room superb. Staff very friendly and helpfully. Bus service is extremely pleasant. Surroundings of the palace also beautiful. Breakfast ...I loved it! Okay its expensive and you might expect good service etc. But it's better then I thought. Is there nothing not good? Some very small things I've noticed but as a former hotel director I am more critical then most. Read less

From the delightful staff to the jaw-dropping architecture, to the best breakfast buffet in the world, this place is worth every penny. There’s just nowhere else like it - truly magical. The beds are perfection, the sheets luxurious - I had the best sleep of my life here. The cocktails are fabulous, and dinner in the Grill Room divine. I cried a little when we left.... Read less

I liked all the extra touches for the room, these were very nice! The hotel is from one of my favourite movies - blended so I was so happy to be there! Access to the water park is a short walk around the back but there are alot of stairs! The breakfast was a standard buffet breakfast except you couldn't get toast or hot drinks yourself. The drinks too a very long time to arrive. I asked for toast and waited but it didn't arrive we had to check out so we left. Some of the staff around the hotel were not so freindly and were more like security guards. I was exploring and asked if I needed help I said no I'm staying here and exploring she questioned me again. Really wasn't any need for this. When we were leaving we had used all our cash at the cultural village ( there card machine wasn't working) and it was the last day of our trip. We had nothing for a tip. The bell man who carried our luggage we only had 5 Rand coin. We felt bad giving nothing but it was so embarrassing. He made a scene about the tip he tutted and then went to a colleague to who him in disgust. So for anyone out there don't bother with the tip of you don't have enough! Despite this it was a wonderful spectacular hotel and I would love to visit again! The palace is a must see! Read less

Staff generally friendly however long queues everywhere - had to wait a long time at the entrance for transport everytime we wanted to go somewhere and at breakfast lines. The lady responsible for preparing the room for bedtime arrived at 22h00 one night waking us for the purpose Finally, porters never came to get bags - eventually had to take it down ourselves. This was a bad experience and based on our experience, this hotel is overated. Read less
