It’s an oasis of tranquility with the twinkling of water fountains, carpets of violet jacaranda blossoms, massive statement earns filled to the brim with lemons and mountain backdrops, as far as the eye can see. The suites are drop dead gorgeous. Think quality, crisp white monogrammed linen, fluffy pillows, opulent artwork and furnishings, including a fire place. The private balconies with loungers is the perfect spot to enjoy the wine valley vistas and surprise visits from nesting Eagle owls! The two pools, one of which is luke warm, is surrounded by manicured gardens. We sat in the cool pool and sipped on mojito’s. The Monneaux restaurant is highly rated in this, Cape Town’s foodi valley. The tender short rib fell off the bone and was washed down with the neighbours Franschhoek craft beer, was delicious. We popped in at Grande Provence for the Angel’s Tears wine tasting paired with nougat & chocolate! Made good use of the the convenient shuttle service into town, literally a 3-min ride. Good Covid protocols are in place here. Read less

We had a lovely stay for a family of four. The villa worked well, with the seperate lounge area which was converted into a seperate sleeping area / couch for the kids. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a small vineyard just outside window and gave a lovely ambiance when having a relaxing bath. The main bedroom was nicely decorated, just disappointed that our bedroom had two single beds, instead of a queen of king bed. The room was a nice size for the four of us, with a small outside patio overlooking the courtyard. We had dinner at the restaurant onsite, Monneaux Restaurant. The food was was a very well presented and absolutely delicious, very calm and romantic atmosphere. Our visit being post Covid-lockdown, under Level 1, was still enjoyable - we were stil able to enjoy most of the facilities such as the pool (warm and cold), there were bikes available for riding into town as well. Breakfast was also well presented, with a spread of options over the weekends, week days (Covid) still had the breakfast menu. All in all, we had a lovely stay and the staff were always friendly and efficient wherever they could help. Read less

My sister received a night's stay in a suite as one of her 60th birthday gifts and she asked me to join her. The suite was absolutely terrific with the trimmings and décor just opulent enough to make you feel like you were in a French palace. The whole atmosphere, gardens, buildings, furniture, just took you to another country. The breakfast buffet was varied and well presented and the hot serving of my Eggs Benedict was tasty and "hit the spot". Attentive waitrons and the service on the whole of the Staff members, no matter which position, was one of absolute delight. Charles in the restaurant and Breakfast Room, Receptionist Abigail and Manager Ben, they all made our short stay worthwhile and dreaming to return for a longer stay. Read less

Back to stay for a second time, loved it the first time and was not disappointed this time. Enjoyed staying in Franschhoek, lovely little town, the wine tram passes by at the end of the garden by the pools. The rooms were kept spotless and are very comfortable. Everything you need is in the rooms. They have a happy hour in the afternoon when you can help yourself to the wine, beer and snacks from the communal area under the breakfast room. Lovely! Staff very obliging, took the shuttle down to the wine tram, just asked at reception to book a time. Nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was still excellent but did miss the wine pairing menu. Hope all the staff are safe and well. Thank you so much for all you did for us. Read less

This is an ideal hotel to explore the lovely small town of Franschoek. Spent 4 nights in a beautiful spacious luxury room with veranda.Service was excellent as was breakfast. Great location for visiting the many wineries in the area and participating in wine-tasting.
