This 4-star deluxe luxury landmark hotel, the oldest hotel in South Africa located in the heart of the university town of Stellenbosch, sets the tone for your Winelands discovery. There are 58 styled rooms, consisting of modern Comfy and Plenty Rooms, and the hotel’s signature spacious Comfy-Up Rooms, surrounding an enclosed garden and pool area. The Restaurant has a private vine-covered courtyard and offers gourmet dining with a traditional Cape flavour and a fantastic selection of local wines. Where is it

Situated right in the centre of the historic university town of Stellenbosch, only 45 km from Cape Town, 20 km from the sea and surrounded by beautiful mountains and vineyards. Stellenbosch is famous as the premier wine region of South Africa. Transfer time from Cape Town Airport: 35 minutes.

58 rooms in 5 buildings. All with air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, tea/coffee maker, safe and hairdryer. Comfy Rooms are contemporary in style and are located on all 3 floors and overlook the shady central garden or quiet, vine-covered courtyard. Rooms with either twin beds and bath and shower or 1 king-size bed and luxury shower only, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Whimsy Rooms are the hotel’s signature accommodation. Rooms are very spacious and decorated with a mix of modern and old-world charm, located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with ensuite shower or bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Plenty Rooms are more spacious and are located either in the historic section of the hotel or renovated new block, with views of the central gardens or courtyard with either 1 king or twin beds, and a full bathroom with separate shower and bath. Sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Great location on Church Street in the centre of Stellenbosch. Valet parking very useful. Excellent and friendly desk service and check in, found us a lovely restaurant (Hussars) as we really wanted a steak, and they sorted us a table. Room was beautiful, overlooking the Old College. Bed huge and very comfortable.

This place is full of old world charm but modernised and absolutely beautiful in the centre of town with valet parking. The rooms have everything you’ll want or need and are very comfortable, particularly the beds. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there are many of them. I would make a point of coming back here.

Amazing hotel in a very convenient location in Stellenbosch. Great decor throughout and the staff very friendly and helpful. Nice little bar area downstairs. Our room was incredible with a veranda, huge bed and great bathroom. Breakfast was superb. Highly recommend if you are planning on visiting Stellenbosch.
