An old-fashioned hotel in Stellenbosch consists of two buildings one hundred years old and the other an older one. Between the two buildings is a pool and a crowded parking front. The place is in the heart of the city center, the facilities in the rooms are outdated and the breakfast is very poor.

The breakfast choice wasn't huge but offered to cook hot food if required. What is the saying a picture can say a thousand words.... well I've attached a few :) Read less

This is a delightful hotel within a few minutes walk of Stellenbosch town centre but is a haven of peace and quiet. There are two swimming pools in the well maintained gardens where there are sun loungers and plenty of shaded seating areas too. Breakfast is buffet style and you can order cooked food too. We were upgraded for free to a deluxe room in one of the two manor houses and it was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent staff on hand to assist with anything. There are many bars and restaurants to choose from in the town and the walking and cycling in the Jonkershoek valley is spectacular. Of course, a visit to some of the vineyards is a great day out too! Read less

Everything was well maintained and clean. Breakfasts were good quality, but sometime the service was slow, but still very friendly. Two pools gave flexibility to swim in the sun or shade as you desire. Very short walk to restaurants and cafes; about a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area down town. There are lots of interesting buildings to… Read more

I wanted a hotel where I could hide away in to finish my book and River Manor was ideal. All the public areas as well as the rooms are beautiful and tranquil and looks like the photographs on their website. The staff is nice and they take care of the little things as well as the big things. Good quality coffee is on the house and readily available. They have a fairly well stocked bar considering their size. Breakfast is continental with plenty to go around. They spoiled us with Easter treats as I was there over Easter. Can't say anything bad about this gem. Oh, and the location is excellent! Read less
