This boutique hotel is in a great location, just a short distance from the main centre of old Stellenbosch. The hotel is quiet but has all you need for a stay in the region. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with big beds. All very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety to choose from. The service was excellent. On our first night, which went a little chilly, fires were lit which was lovely and added to a cosy atmosphere. What I loved was the choice a several quirky reception rooms to sit back in and relax. The River Manor hotel was a real gem. Read less

The room was nice and clean and the location is very easy for walking into the town. The only thing we would have to fault the hotel on is that they were (for us) far too invasive of your room. Every time we left the room for lunch or dinner etc, we came back to the bed freshly made, our own clothes picked up, the two bed cushions we placed by the wall had been moved each time to the wardrobe etc. There is no sign to hang on the door to request privacy so for us it was somewhat uncomfortable that someone was entering our room a few times a day. Hotel feels safe but we did leave our suitcases locked due to this. Otherwise it was such a lovely hotel. Read less

Their is a warmth between the staff which immediately extends to their guests. The six of us all enjoyed our short time here again after a memorable stay last year. Beautiful grounds and lovely accommodation, great breakfasts. The glass of cooling wine on arrival shared with some of those lovely staff was a welcoming touch. Already looking forward to another longer visit. Thanks to all for making us so welcome and looking after us so well. Read less

Beautiful gardens and pool areas (2 pools!) with lovely loungers to relax in. Our room was gorgeous - very contemporary, cleaned twice a day, very comfortable bed, lovely shower room and a nice little table & chairs outside. Very nice buffet breakfast with hot options available on demand and loved the help-yourself sherry & port in the 2 public lounges. A very tasteful and good value for money place to stay right in the heart of Stellenbosch (safe to walk to all the restaurants). Read less
