Having stayed at the hotel on many previous occasions (when it was owned by Sun International) we always loved our stay but this time did not live up to expectations. There was only a choice of breakfast buffet which was cold and bland by the time we ate - an a-la-carte option would have made more sense considering there were only a few guests in the hotel. Restaurant choice for dinner was limited to the poolside restaurant with a limited menu - you can imagine sitting outside by the pool in the middle of winter not being a very comfortable experience! Our room had dust and hair under the beds - a bit worrying in times of Covid! The staff were always very pleasant and welcoming but we definitely feel that this stay was not good value for our money. We always enjoy our stay at the Avani, having been a few times. The rooms are great; beds and pillows very comfortable and there is plenty of water pressure from the shower. We always enjoy our stay at the Avani, having been a few times. The rooms are great; beds and pillows very comfortable and there is plenty of water pressure from the shower. Or you can take a long good soak in the tub, with toiletries provided. The hotel grounds are lovely; a little bit of bushveld with free roaming giraffe, zebra, impala and monkeys of course. Monkeys sometimes appear at the pool when people order food, but there is always a guard on duty to keep chasing them away. It is delightful to watch the monkeys trying to sneak up. And no wonder they do - the food at the Avani has always been good, and this visit, in July 2020, was no exception. We had a most delicious pizza, an excellent steak and very tasty ribs, and some of the deserts we ordered were fantastic. Breakfast, whilst not the usual luxurious style buffet, due to Covid restrictions, was good - with great coffee, fruit juice and a choice of dishes to order. A huge benefit to staying at the Avani, is that you can take a 5 minute walk and get into the National Park to view the Victoria Falls by showing your room key, at no charge. On top of this, the staff are so friendly and very helpful. Our daughter even got a little free gift from one of the front office managers when she expressed disappointment that the hotel gift shop was not open. How kind was that?! We always just wish we could stay longer! Read less

My stay was excellent. I enjoyed every bit of it. I felt at home away from home. I found people i can now call friends. They attended to all my needs at short notice. I will definitely call back and will also recommend your place to other groups that i belong to.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The ambiance was amazing, the staff were very helpful, the rooms were very comfortable and the food was delicious. The falls are less than 5 minutes away and you do not have to pay any entrance fee of you are staying here which is a massive plus. I would definately not mind coming back again.
