Moldy and disgusting. At the expensive rates we paid we expect a room that is clean and not a health hazard. We booked a non-refundable 4-night stay package for AUD$2565.00 (approx. $640 per night).
The room stank of mold so we were unable to use the air-conditioner. We spoke to the front desk on the first evening and said we’re happy to pay for the first night (as it was late) however we want to leave the next day and get a refund for the remaining three nights. They offered us another room which we visited, and the same issues of smell and mold were evident.
The following day we spoke with two staff managers and the general manager on the phone. After an awful exchange over three hours, they offered us 2 nights refund. Their behaviour was appalling and upsetting, They couldn't even offer a glass of water when I was visibly upset. They took no accountability for the health hazard and the general manager kept saying it was “our opinion” regarding the mold.
Our photos tell a different story. Unfortunately, you can’t take a photo of the intoxicating mold smell, so buyers be warned! Do not go here unless you’re happy to breathe in black mold and stay in a dirty room.
