Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa

Nusa Dua, Bali

The hotel

Living up to its ‘authentically Bali’ mantra, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa feels like a reincarnated Balinese palace. Every element’s lavish, with its three exquisite tree-fringed pools, sumptuous spa, gym, and seven bars and restaurants all adding to the fantastical feel. But nothing’s quite as regal as its grounds, where tropical greenery spills over balconies, tumbles through gardens, and comes to rest on the pure white sands of its beach. The effect’s a serene setting for garden tours, coconut leaf weaving, and traditional dance classes – and for Gecko Club’s child-focused island experiences. Inside its nine hectares, a dramatic temple-like structure splits to reveal an elaborate lily pond festooned with water features; Balinese guest rooms (including Butler-served Club rooms) divulge garden, pool, or beach scenes; and the incredible bamboo web of its double-decked brasserie opens up to hypnotic Indian Ocean views.

My wife and I stayed here with our two friends for five days. We thought it was a very relaxing place to stay with absolutely fantastic and friendly staff. The rooms are really spacious with super king beds and feather pillows that my wife and friend wanted to take home because they were so comfy! The rooms have a safe, fridge, mini bar, hairdryer and a spacious balcony. Because the hotel grounds are quite large you never get the feeling that it is full of people and I can’t imagine that you would ever struggle for a bed by one of the pools. Similarly the private beach never seemed overcrowded. There was a varied choice at breakfast and over the five days we didn’t get fed up of the food. To give an example of how good the staff are we accidentally left the safe open when we went to the pool. When we returned there was a note on the door saying that the room had been double locked and could only be opened by a manager with us present. Great service. Would we stay again. Absolutely! The hotel adjoins a number of other quality resorts, however we see no reason to stay anywhere else. We will be back!!! Read less
