Moose Hotel & Suites

Banff, Alberta

The hotel

Its chalet-styling, reclaimed wood, and Rocky range views give Moose Hotel & Suites that authentic mountain lodge feel most dream of finding when travelling to Canada. On Banff Avenue, this luxury take on a ski cabin is a minute’s walk from the resort’s downtown attractions — but it has plenty of its own too. Alongside handy free treats like WiFi access, parking, and Roam bus passes, it hosts indulgent spaces for relaxation — like its Meadow Spa & Pools where, alongside treatment rooms, you’ll find an indoor pool and a rooftop relaxation zone with two ‘hot pools’, a fire pit, and views of the Rocky Mountains. Back downstairs, the hotel’s Pacini restaurant is just as relaxing, setting you up for the day with breakfast favourites like Eggs Benedict, before cooking up a storm of gourmet Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner guests.

The floors didn't seem to be clearned very often, they don't know how to make a bed and we had to remake it. The heating system is so noisy, I have never found this at any hotel before, staff said that they could disconnect it, but then the room would be cold! Location is convenient for walking into town to eat, we didnt find the hotel menu very appealing. This was our second vists and will probably staff again. Read less

The location is great - it has ample parking underground and it is only a short (flat) walk into the centre of Banff where all of the shops and restaurants are located. The ski bus to either Sunshine or Lake Louise departs about 30 metres from the exit from the ski storage area. The room itself was fine for the most part. It was a reasonable size and had two spacious bathrooms. The biggest draw backs with the rooms were the lack of privacy, both from the common living area within the apartment, and also people walking past being able to see in. I noticed that walking along the corridors that all of the rooms had large glass windows where people can see in. It was a bit of a strange design feature. The downsides were the quality of the housekeeping - consistently poor. Also, for such a new hotel, the system for storing skis overnight could be better. The restaurant was average and did not have a conventional hotel style breakfast - only a la carte. There is a nice roof top spa area. When I was sitting in the hot tub and talking to some of the other 'guests' it turned out that they weren't even staying at the Moose but were directed to the facilities there from neighbouring hotels. We very much enjoyed our well-appointed one-bedroom suite, and the convenient location of the hotel within walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. The rooftop hot tubs were a treat. The Covid virus was ramping up while we were there, and the staff were very accommodating about terminating our stay on short notice and extending check-out time on the day of our departure. We want to commend, in particular, Tomas and Aaron at the front desk for their assistance. The restaurant co-located with the hotel did a great job accommodating customers and providing room service once restrictions kicked in limiting the service restaurants in Banff were able to provide. We highly recommend this hotel to others and hope to return to the Moose Hotel and Suites and this beautiful area of Canada ourselves. Read less

Stopped by for a night during a road trip north for my daughter’s Spring Break. Nice place where I have stayed before. Conveniently located within walking distance of local places for eating and shopping. Convenient on site restaurant for dinner and drinks.

Just back from skiing this year and we stayed here at the Moose for the first time for 12nights. We saw this hotel being built and wanted to try it out for a change from the Caribou who kept giving us the same room which was small and very dark despite our moans. BUT here was fantastic at the Moose would definitely come back. We were met by lovely staff at reception after a very long day travelling and then driving up to Banff. We were then greeted with a room upgrade to a King Suite, WOW. thank you very much Moose Hotel. We stayed in room 251 which on the the second floor, end of the row on the corner. It was lovely and so quiet. We were never woken once from noise of neighbours or banging doors like at the Caribou. It is novel with having to go outside to your room. The amenities are great. Lovely novel outside hot tubs (2) and small swimming pool. The hotel restaurant Pacini is great and lovely bread you toast on the grill. The food is generally good. The hotel has it own underground heated car park which was lovely and secure. Not an issue to park, plenty of space. Short walk into town where there are a great variety of places to eat, shops to mooch around and spend money. My only niggle/moan would be that our room must have been last on the cleaning as 3 times we did not get cleaned as we were back from skiing and it was not done. It was also not that well cleaned on some occasions with face cloths not replaced and tissue items either replaced. Grit left on the floor too. I would totally recommend this lovely hotel with a great atmosphere, friendly welcoming staff and great skiing near by. Read less
