Moose Hotel & Suites

Banff, Alberta

The hotel

Its chalet-styling, reclaimed wood, and Rocky range views give Moose Hotel & Suites that authentic mountain lodge feel most dream of finding when travelling to Canada. On Banff Avenue, this luxury take on a ski cabin is a minute’s walk from the resort’s downtown attractions — but it has plenty of its own too. Alongside handy free treats like WiFi access, parking, and Roam bus passes, it hosts indulgent spaces for relaxation — like its Meadow Spa & Pools where, alongside treatment rooms, you’ll find an indoor pool and a rooftop relaxation zone with two ‘hot pools’, a fire pit, and views of the Rocky Mountains. Back downstairs, the hotel’s Pacini restaurant is just as relaxing, setting you up for the day with breakfast favourites like Eggs Benedict, before cooking up a storm of gourmet Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner guests.

Chalet type feel with a historic building preserved as the center piece of the hotel. Hot tub on the roof with great views. The walk to the hot tub was not fun in the cold, but well worth the relaxation. Walking distance to all the shops. Great service. Upgraded for half price to mountain view room.

Covid time. Quiet. And very good to be here. Rooms are nice. Everything works. So that’s the good news. 4/5 cause only a few things missing to make it 5/5. But here’s the thing. And it’s hotel industry wide so no points off here. For heaven’s sake, stop telling us the lack of any kind of service or room housekeeping is “for our safety”. It’s not.… Read more
Covid time. It’s not. It’s using covid as a convenient excuse to skimp out on service, lower costs, and reduce labour overhead. And it doesn’t matter what the hotel says at all. That’s what it is. They clean the room (hopefully) when we leave. Right? So what is the toxicological difference to cleaning it when we’re out for the day snowboarding, or gone for good? Nothing. You can order supplies like Kleenex and towels and they put them in your room when you’re out. Great. Yay! But again, what’s the difference? Nothing. Hotel operators will take any excuse to lower costs in a cut throat business. I understand. Remember when the signs went into the hotel rooms asking you to “save the planet” by not having fresh towels each day? Small writing. Towels hung up won’t be replaced. Negative option. Save hot water. Save labour costs. Save material costs. Again, I get it. But don’t insult us. The laundry thing is done to save small dollar amounts per unit stay per day multiplied by a year in consideration of the bottom line. But blaming a disease that kills thousands so you don’t clean rooms anymore (solve that paradox) is scraping the bottom of the barrel. You’re not alone, so no points off. But cynicism doesn’t feel good when I’m hanging up my towel. Read less

I have stayed at the Moose many times during my visits to Banff. Each and every time the stay has been absolutely amazing. The location of this stunning property is practically the best you can get in Banff. The views from the balconies or just outside the front door are gorgeous and you are meters away from all of the amenities and restaurants that downtown Banff has to offer. I have stayed since our current pandemic has caused their beautiful hot pools to be closed, but luckily the suites are built with a wonderful gas fireplace to warm up in front of on a cold winter day. Whether you're travelling for business, pleasure or a romantic night away the Moose is by far and away my favourite spot to stay in Banff! Read less

We stayed at the Moose Hotel for the first time and loved their well appointed suites and location. It's a pet-friendly hotel and they love dogs there. Very nice staff and also good food and service at their Pacini restaurant.

The Moose was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday! Right from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and the most polite staff. The suite was incredibly luxurious; boasting two master bedrooms with ensuite, a fireplace; kitchenette and an amazing deck with a spectacular view of, what else when in Banff, MOUNTAINS! I was impressed with all the onsite amenities. The Meadow Spa worked so hard to accommodate my request and with its own hot tub for spa patrons only - it made the experience extra special. However we also took advantage of the rooftop pool and hot tubs, as well; if your going to go to Banff to enjoy nature, you have to take in the stars while enjoying their hot tubs. I love that The Moose is so central in Banff, we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go; whether to The Rose and Crown (spectacular breakfast and best Caesars) or just walking up to the many trails that surround the town, you couldn't have a better base! With so many restrictions and rules now in play; I have to take a moment to celebrate how The Moose took care of our safety. Not once during my visit did I feel unsafe; the staff conducted interactions at a safe distance while wearing masks and I noticed staff cleaning high touch areas frequently as well as providing many locations for patrons to use sanitizer. Truly an outstanding experience; thank you Moose for making my birthday extra special! Read less
