Moose Hotel & Suites

This hotel is located in the town of Banff within walking distance to dining, hiking trails, groceries, and quaint shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful. The check in process was smooth and our room was ready upon arrival. We had a king suite for a three day stay. It was great to have the extra sitting area in between hiking and sight seeing. Bed and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. We ate breakfast in the hotel and recommend the berry crepe. We left our car in the hotel's car park and used the public transportation to visit popular sites in the park. The staff helped us with that as well. We would stay here again. Read less

Our stay at Moose Hotel and Suites was just perfect. This was our first visit back to Banff since our honeymoon in 1986 and we're so glad we chose this hotel. It cost more than we'd normally pay but we decided to splash out for our three night stay. We booked a Standard Room but when we arrived we were offered an upgrade to a King Room for half the normal cost of the upgrade. We opted to do this and were really pleased with the room. We had a bedroom, kitchenette and a nice sitting room with a sofa, table and lovely fire. There was a small balcony which looked onto the street (the next street back from the Main Street). To get to the room you walked across an internal bridge in the hotel and then were outdoors again for a short distance. This is because all the rooms are built around the centre with walkways in the open connecting them. There was something quite special about stepping from the outdoors into your room while knowing that actually it was all very secure. The absolute best bit were the hot tubs on the roof. We went every morning at dawn (sometimes the only people up there) and every evening. It was the best hot tub area we've ever seen - two large hot tubs which would each fit around 20 people and a seating area with a real flame fire in the middle. There was also a sauna and and a small indoor swimming pool. It snowed the second morning we were there (end of October) and I'll never forget sitting in the hot tub, watching the sun come up, while it was snowing, I felt I'd strayed onto the movie set of White Christmas. The hotel location was perfect too - just at the end of the shopping and restaurant bit of Banff. Also next to a supermarket which we used for breakfast things as we had the kitchen area in the room. There was a good, secure parking garage beneath the hotel which was easy to access and exit. We hope to return to Banff sooner than the 33 years gap since our honeymoon and to stay at the Moose Hotel again. We just hope that it is exactly as we found it on this trip as it was perfect! We were extremely pleased we selected this hotel for our visit to Banff. Our suite was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, quiet but an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. The underground parking is large, so never had a problem parking. We also appreciated the polite and helpful staff members. Would definitely stay here again! Read less

This hotel is right in the middle of everything. You can walk to all shops and restaurants. The service is great. Rooms are cute and well maintained. The price is very competitive when compared to everything else that the hotel has to offer. Restaurants are limited in the hotel but you do not want to eat in when you have choice of hundreds outside the hotel. I would come here again. Read less
