The hotel

Opened on New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort, and it's just been newly renovated again! Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating, and it also has the largest fitness facility in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms here are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods — a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, is great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, just one block away.

We stayed here 4 nights for my birthday. He told me , upgrades weren’t possible due to high occupancy (I get that), but promised they would provide a card for me. Needless to say, I have never seen a card or gotten a verbal Happy Birthday. And that’s how our whole stay ended up to be- rude and inattentive front desk employees , non - existing house keeping . We have put out the sign to clean our room, when we left for the day; 3 hours later it was still there, and not just once. They are still doing construction , so don’t plan to relax by the pool or beach- not only is the noise, but you can hear the workers cursing and screaming at each other while day. There are no robes or slippers in the rooms. Also, the walls are so thin, you can hear every single word from the neighbor’s room. Read less

Spent 4 days at Casa Marina on a friend’s getaway. Great location, could walk to Duval in about 15 minutes. Two pools were nice so adults could enjoy without a lot of kids if they wanted. Nice beach with shallow wading area. Staff were super friendly, rooms clean, good food at breakfast. Will definitely return!

My young family of 5 visited Casa Marina over Spring Break this week and had a wonderful experience. We booked last July under the impression that the renovations would be completed, so I was quite worried when I started reading reviews that indicated that they were still ongoing. However in our experience, the impact was nonexistent. We had a room in the main building, which was spacious and nicely appointed. We had a 7, 4 and 1 y/o and we were relatively comfortable (room with two queens). The 1 y/o had a crib provided by the hotel, which could be tucked away around a corner of the room for some isolation. The walls were thick and the location of the room relative to the main amenities of the hotel made swinging up for a diaper or more sunscreen quite convenient. The only renovations that were still ongoing included the carpet in the halfway leading to our room which, frankly, was disgusting. I assume they are allowing it to deteriorate since they are planning to replace it soon. They also had a couple of beachside bars and fire pits that were being finished. Based on progress, I’d guess they will be opening in another couple of weeks, which will be an amazing accommodation once finished. The main bar in the lobby was small but beautiful and had some good drinks with great service. The lighting in the evenings was too bright, which made sitting at the lobby bar for a relaxing experience something we did one evening but never returned. Read less

My recent stay at the Hilton was far from the pleasant experience I had anticipated. From the moment I checked in, it became evident that the renowned Hilton service was sorely lacking. Upon entering my first room, I was immediately hit with a nauseating smell of sewage. It was clear that there were serious issues with the plumbing. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, I received no assistance in moving to a new room. The lack of urgency and concern was disheartening. The problems didn’t end there. The service by the pool was abysmal. Despite attempting to enjoy some relaxation, I was met with long wait times and dismissive attitudes from the staff. What’s worse, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being profiled due to my younger age. It’s unacceptable for any guest to receive subpar treatment based on age or any other factor. Overall, my stay at the Hilton was a huge letdown. The lack of attention to basic amenities and the disregard for customer satisfaction tarnished the reputation of the Hilton brand. It’s evident that there is much room for improvement in the service provided at this establishment. Read less

The hotel is in a nice location (short walk to Duvall street, on the ocean); however, this hotel was very disappointing for everyone in the family. It has a very tiny pool (feels almost motel like) that was very warm…cooled no one off from the heat. The hotel staff was ok but the servers around the pool seemed annoyed to take drink orders. There was very little to nothing offered for activities for kids. We travel all over and first time my children said they were bored at a hotel. I actually tried to get out of our second night there. The hotel rooms were super small, including the bathroom, tiniest shower I have seen in a hotel in years. The hotel is nicely decorated but feels sterile. Perhaps better for older guests with no kids. Overall, i would not recommend this hotel for families. Very expensive without much to offer. So many other better places to stay in the other keys.
