The hotel

Opened New Year's Eve 1920, Casa Marina Resort is Key West’s original grand resort! After a $45 million dollar renovation, Casa Marina became part of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts. Boasting a dramatic 'water walk' that leads to the resort's two largest swimming pools and the largest private beach in Key West, Casa Marina Resort is a tranquil oasis close enough to the action of Duval Street. Offered on-site is a booking centre for world-class diving, fishing and boating. Casa Marina also has the largest fitness facility in Key West, allowing you to work off those holiday indulgences! Guest rooms at Casa Marina Resort are contemporary in style with whitewashed walls, textured tile floors and dark tropical hardwoods — a great place to retire to at the end of a busy day seeing the sights. For dining the hotel’s Sun Sun restaurant and bar, an open-air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and beach, great for those seeking a casual atmosphere and plenty of that Floridian sun!! And as if all this wasn't enough, you can take advantage of the facilities at the sister property, The Reach, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, one block away.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! They have almost finished their renovation from what we could see and it is so beautiful. Old Key West themed and immaculately clean. Live music every afternoon and evening and we could enjoy it from our huge terrace! Thank you Hilton for this beautiful property. My family and I had an all-around poor experience at the Casa Marina. Some examples are as follows: (1) out thermostat in our suite would lose power every hour - requiring us to wake up every hour to flip the circuit breaker in our room in order to have air conditioning. The customer service team and maintenance were of no assistance in remediating the problem - as they actually thought this solution would be appropriate in a “Luxery” resort. (2) the elevator outside our suite needed service during our entire stay - and would loudly beep with alerts every 30 seconds - which served as attempting to sleep though the night with alarm clock beeping. The customer service team indicated they would look into it - and nothing ever happened to remediate the problem during our stay. (3) the dining at the Casa Marina is poor (at best). It takes approx an hour for your simple breakfast to be served - and ours was delivered incorrectly half of the time. All around the experience is incredibly disappointing at the Casa Marina - and the customer service team ranks the most unfriendly at any resort I’ve experienced in my lifetime. Read less

We just finished Thanksgiving at the Casa. The updates are fantastic. The desk clerk Patrick was great as was the concierge that helped us get bikes rented Thursday evening. Only downside is they are still working on updating the property, but it didn’t really bother us. We will definitely be back and are glad that the Casa is back.

Do not be misled by the reviews I honestly think the recent 5 star reviews are fake or paid. My bf and I booked the week of thanksgiving and the first day we got there the construction was so loud, it felt like you were on a construction site. The dock is blocked by construction, the bar is small basically a food truck, and the food menu is very small. The pictures of the hotel are before construction so it is not how it looks as the entire beach is basically blocked off. I thought people might be over exaggerated on the reviews and thought they wouldn’t do construction thanksgiving week, but I was wrong. We asked the hotel manager if they would be doing construction on thanksgiving day and he just said he doesn’t know their schedule. He also told us we could walk to the other hotel beaches but at that point you might as well airbnb for a cheaper price and that’s not what we wanted. Other people that stayed also looked aggravated so it’s very surprising with the reviews. After staying 1 night we cancelled our room and stayed at The Reach. That hotel was amazing really glad we switched as it wouldn’t have felt like a vacation if we didn’t. I will say after construction is completely done this place does look like it would be nice but highly recommend calling and asking if renovations are done as I wish we did. Read less

Our experience was below poor. Ever since the pandemic Casa Marina has never been the same. The email stated Casa Marina was reopened, but its partially reopened and not fully running, not only service wise but also amenities. Rooms were redone but poorly finished, bathroom is uneven and has cement stain instead of grout. The AC in the Flagler bldg in room 356 does not work, super humid, high venting fan but not air-conditioning. Sounds like a non-stop vacuum and you cant turn it off or else you melt in the room. Service elevator starts running before 7am with staff banging metallic items. No self parking available although website says that option is available. Largest portion of the back/beach is still closed for construction. Staff was polite no issues with that. Read less
