We have stared in multiple areas of KW in different accommodations incl Air BNB on Whitehead closer to the southern most point and also in the center of Duvall and both my husband and agreed after this last visit that Ocean Key was really the best location. We are not normally resort type people and like our privacy but Ocean Key was great! It is so close to everything (except the Southern most point) and perfect walking distance to the best bars, the wharf, Mallory Square, large selection of restaurants and huge CVS pharmacy across the street where you can buy so many supplies, drinks, alcohol, most any supply you need to take back to your room which is very convenient. Starbucks is right next door as well. The pool was great, no charge for a cabana in the shade which was nice. Servers even brought around frozen towels to everyone to help cool off as it was HOT! Sunset pier is attached and they have great drinks and friendly bartenders to chat it up with. Great view of the sunset and picture taking can be done on pier which is open to the public and also serves food with huge outdoor seating area on the pier. Our suite was beautiful and faced the east with a huge balcony and table/chairs, perfect for people watching and also watching the sunrise. All the staff was great and they even handed us free rum punch as we were checking in. Requested a late checkout due to 3pm flight out with no problem. Rented a gold cart during our stay which they did not charge us for parking it and even moved it out of the street for us. The resort entrance is dead end into the pier so traffic is constantly u-turning around in the narrow street right at the entrance and cars cannot stay parked long there. Will definitely consider staying here again in our next trip to KW! Read less

Perfect hotel for our 25 wedding anniversary vacation. Ideal location with just the perfect amount of view and activity. We were met with a lovely rum punch when checking in (very welcome in hot weather). We were is a huge room on the 5th floor overlooking the ocean & Mallory Square. In the evening we were able to sit on our balcony and watch the sunset. In the morning we often watched the cruise liners dock for the way. There was always plenty to see on Mallory Square and festivities to be heard. Lovely small pool area which was kept in great condition. Plenty of beds with shade and set out with full length towels waiting for you. Pool staff bring drinks to your beds. Checkout easy with no hidden costs. Thank you to all who made this such a memorable week. Read less

Nate, the concierge, is unbelievably knowledgeable about the island. We had the best time thanks to him. I also highly recommend the Hot Tin Roof for dinner, best key lime pie. We will 100% be back very soon.
