We thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic breakfast each day, and there are plenty of other dining options close by. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The real highlight for my wife and I was the back bay kayak nature tour with Ranger Rob. He is very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and the ecosystem, we were having a blast seeing the beautiful scenery and spotting a number of different animals. Rob was great fun to talk to and we felt very comfortable. The next time we come back, we will definitely sign up for more activities with Ranger Rob! Read less

Staff was wonderful. Place was clean and beautiful. Lots of amenities. Good food. Great kayak tour with Ranger Rob (not included with resort fee). Located 1 mile from center of town. We walked or took an Uber or Lyft. We had a beach/pool view.

After spending months constantly reading reviews all over the web and seeing half of them being positive and so many negatives, I was worried that I had made the wrong decision staying here...I am soo pleased to say that we will never stay anywhere else but the Pink Shell the next time we come to FMB. Positive: 1. Ranger Rob is fantastic! He only offers kayaking tours Wed. - Sat. and when we arrived, the only day we could try to go was Sat. We called Friday afternoon and we were able to go on Sat. What made our experience even better, is that we were the only ones to book for that day's tour. I was so afraid he would cancel on us because many places have a minimum group size, but not Ranger Rob. He was happy to take us out on a persona l tour. It was AMAZING and you could tell that he really enjoys his job and offers plenty of knowledge. If come to the Pink Shell, you gotta check out his kayak tour. You will not be disappointed. 2. Beach - It's stunning, clean, and the best part is that there are guys driving around constantly adding more and more beach chairs and umbrellas. Even on the super busy weekend we were able to get two chairs and an umbrella which I have never experienced before event when going to an all inclusive small resort. They also have servers that come out to see if you need a drink or food while sun bathing. The Pina Colada's were one of the BEST I've ever had at a hotel/resort. Drinks and food are expensive, $15 for most drinks, but they tasted soooo good so it was worth the price. 3. Room - We stayed in the Captiva Villas. It was a HUGE room with a stunning large balcony. The ocean view was amazing as well. Wouldn't pick any other room but this one. Negatives: 1. Housekeeping - They came at all different times each day we stayed. Sometimes they arrived as early as 8:30am, and other times it wasn't until 4pm. We'd ask if they could come back in an hour because we'd be gone by then but then they'd end up coming back 5 hours or more later and we'd have come back to the room by then. Due to this, we didn't always get our room serviced which was super disappointing. They don't change out the sheets. When we arrived the first day and went to get into the bed, there were multiple hairs inside the bed and a brown chunk of god knows what. It was tiny so just through it away. Also, found dirty utensils in the kitchen drawer, and the cabinet door handle has what I am hoping was old sunscreen on it. Overall, the room as clean and stunning. 2. Wrist Bands - instead of cards, you get wristbands that gain you access to the pool, beach, and room. The only downside is that they didn't always work correctly depending on the gate you are trying to open. 3. Spa - Their on hold message states that they offer on the beach massages but when I called to book my couples massage, they told me they no longer offer that. They also were not able to offer a couples massage (even though they promote it) because their A/C room was down. Also, the direct number on my hotel room phone kept calling the manager's number instead of the spa front desk so was frustrating on how to get a hold of someone. My massage with Raquel was AMAZING though so made up for the negative experience. Overall, the positives greatly outweigh the negatives. We normally only ever go to Punta Cana for an all inclusive beach vacation but due to covid, decided to stay stateside. We are sooooo happy we chose to stay here. It was fantastic and everyone was super friendly. We will definitely be back! Read less

My family and I stayed at the Pink Shell in September for a week. My daughter, who is 8, participate in the activities provided by the resort and I have to tell you, don’t miss out on the Ranger Jr’s program or the kayak tour with Ranger Rob. He was amazing with the knowledge he has and how engaging he was with our daughter. She couldn’t wait to the next day to see him. The kayak tour was wonderful. We saw dolphins and manatees and all kinds of birds. He takes you across the bay into the mangroves and it’s just so serene. I also want to mention that the staff at the Pink Shell was wonderful. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Pam at the towel hut also does the kids activities and is great. Big shout out to her for a great week. This is a must for families. We will definitely be back.
