I don't say this lightly, I would prefer not to go on vacation vs. staying here again. The person who checked us in was so kinda, and when we asked to have our room switched they were so quick to help out, but the hotel rooms and hallways were truly gross. We did not use the pool and missed the breakfast so I have no comment there.

Prior to staying here, I didn't do much research. We are super familiar with the naples area and just needed a place to stay at for a night before our airbnb opened. I travel for work often and trust marriott and didn't think twice about booking a reliable Residence Inn.
We got in pretty late, it must have been just before midnight. I point this out because I'm not sure if they were low on availability or something. The first room we were given had a unique scent of throw up upon opening the door. Like it was blatant. When my husband went into the bedroom, there were wet spots all over on the carpet and our gut just felt like the room was not properly cleaned. It really, really smelled. When we opened the crib for our son a bunch of cheerios fell out of the pack and play. It was that moment that I realized I had to be that person to ask for a different room. I really don't often do this but the smell of throw up was overwhelming and the floor was too wet to trust it. Honestly, it was really gross. I'm disappointed they'd even offer this room to someone.
When we opened the door to the second room, the smell was overwhelmingly of ciggarettes. It's a nonsmoking hotel and room so clearly someone just broke the rules. They didn't have another crib so we just carried the cheerio crib to this room. We realized two of the garbages in the new room hadn't been emptied. At this point it was like 1AM and we just tried not to think about it and fell asleep.
When we woke up we packed up our things and peaced out as quickly as we could. I share this experience because I always trust Marriott but this was BAD. We paid an insane amount of money for our one night (high season) and I left feeling violated. I know that probably sounds comical but I felt scammed.
In summary, the check in guy was so kind. This isn't a knock on the workers. But the two rooms we experienced were flat out disgusting and not sanitary. I would not stay there ever again even if the entire stay was free.

I've stayed at many Marriott properties over the years as a Gold Elite member for lifeand I was disappointed in this particular hotel. The cleanliness was subpar regarding the hallways and the room. The cleanliness in the kitchen area could have been better because there were noticeable stains on the stainless steel and the freeze had a malfunction and would stop making ice which had been going for a while. Additionally, there was a noticeable spill of some liquid in the freezer which hadn't been address for sometime. See photos below.
Lastly, the shower didn't have any conditioner and the shampoo and body wash had the same watered down liquid which ran out at the end of our 2 day stay.
On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful and we found that the breakfast area was well attended in the morning.
I'll give the property a pass because I'm sure it's a busy hotel with families due the tourist nature of Naples and they probably stay very busy.
I didn't consider this property to a great value considering our overall experience against the cost.

Meh. Not awful but lots of room for improvement

We’ve stayed at this hotel since 2012, however likely will not stay again until it has undergone renovations. It wasn’t terrible - it just wasn’t great. Staff at front desk and breakfast room very good though. Great variety in the breakfast offerings, but again meh quality. For example the English muffins were always a little hard. Eggs definitely tasted like powdered eggs. But the worst were the potatoes. Consistently dry. So much so that my husband got one caught when swallowing and had to walk around and then drink his coffee to get it to move. . When 1st entering our room the damp mildew smell was horrific. Yes I know this is Florida but we haven’t had this issue before. The beds have been replaced recently, so we were told, and they were very comfortable. Tables and chairs around the pool look fairly new and nice. I forgot how loud the room air conditioner is - interrupted our sleep all through the night. It took a long time for the hot water to arrive in the shower, but the shower and shower curtain was clean. I think some money needs to be spent on refreshing all the carpets from those in the hallways to those in the suites. Furniture other than beds need upgrading. Towels at pool were clean but not overly plentiful. Our 1st day there were none left by 10 am-ish. I noticed on our last day none were out around 9 am. Maybe they came out later but we would leave for the beach at 9 am. So again not bad, just not great and I want a little more for my money. Lastly, I completely forgot from our last stay that there is no room safe. In this day who still offers only safety deposit boxes at the front desk?

Great hotel, friendly staff

We had an amazing stay at the Residence Inn. The room was clean and very spacious. Quiet and relaxed pool and the breakfast was great. Also, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. If you don't have a car, there is a busstop close to the hotel that brings you within 10 minutes to the city centre.
