The hotel

This hotel is a work of art. Quite literally! As you walk into the hotel you'll instantly notice the distinctive artwork and creative decorations surrounding you, and during your stay you're likely to see curated gallery exhibitions as well as art and wine tours on offer - so you can really ignite your creative mind! Whilst the art is a key factor in making this hotel so great, there's a host of other facilities to enjoy too - one of our favourites being the rooftop pool and bar where you can enjoy lovely views of Sarasota and the marina whilst taking a dip or enjoying a cocktail. The perks continue in your room, with colouring pencils and a sketchbook as well as a ukelele! Opt for a high floor room to enjoy more beautiful views, they're definitely worth it. The hotel is in the heart of Sarasota so it's easy to explore. Sarasota farmers market is just a couple of minutes walk away, and you're only 3 miles from the beautiful Lido Key Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Complimentary bicycles are available too, so you can whip around the town to find some great restaurants and shops.

Its prime location enhances the overall appeal. For those seeking premium lodging in Sarasota, this hotel stands out as a top contender, offering a refined, 5-star Mobil Guide caliber stay for area visitors. We dined at Tzeva in the morning and the waiter Wei was very professional and Kim the manager helped us at length with the menu descriptions for lunch and dinner and gave us tips on local things to do, David is a gem and also gave us local and Florida destination travel tips What a fantastic stay!!!!!!!! Art Ovation is our long time most favorite destination hotel in Sarasota. We were their for many nights recently and found it even more improved and actually very memorable The staff as always is very accommodating and they go out of their way to help with any needs of ours and we observed everyone surpassing guest expectations while we observed. We have worked in the Five Star Mobile guide and 4 Diamond hotel trade most of our work careers starting out as banquet waitstaff many years back so we know a great hotel when we experience it . We have stayed at nearby hotels and not a one made us as happy as this hotel. the room service staff and rooftop wait and bar staff will make your visit a superb pleasure. The lobby bar bartenders Kelly are the best and Tzeva restaurant under the direction of two older managers create a fun welcoming environment superseding our experience at The Dorchester Hotel in London ,England. The waitstaff is amazing and provide impeccable service at breakfast and dinner The valet /bellman are worthy of being on the staff at the top hotels in the Us stay there you will be happy ,too! Disappointed. Not truly a dog friendly property. Will not be back. Sounds like our next door neighbors were dishonest people. Five minutes after we went down to breakfast after 8 am, we get a call on our cell that our dog is barking and has disturbed the entire floor all night. Immediately taken aback, I informed the caller that we just left the room for breakfast in their restaurant and would send my husband up to get him. I explained it is a complete impossibility that he had been barking as we were in the room with him and he slept through the night. The response was that “numerous guests told them he barked through the night”. I asked them to please check for other dogs on the floor and they said they could not do that. They only heard our dog bark twice when they went up to see for themselves right then and then. I asked why they could not check for other dogs on the floor. I was required to sign a form and pay $125 for him to stay, did other guests not sign the same form. Needless to say after bringing him downstairs we asked the front desk again and he said he did not know about the barking in the night and that he just knew about the complaint that had just happened and when he went up to check that when he hovered by the door the dog barked once or twice as if waiting for someone to open the door. Yes, exactly, dogs will typically bark if someone approaches the door as if they are going to open it. Meanwhile, the restaurant had tables fully set outdoors but refused to let us sit outside because they were short staffed. So our breakfast was completely destroyed and our stay disrupted. Then we took the dog to the pool with us. After a while he got warm so my husband went down to feed him. As my husband was leaving the room to bring him back upstairs and employee approached him to say, “sir you cannot leave your dog unattended”. We are receiving complaints. Now I’m unbelievably perplexed. My husband was literally holding our dog and leaving the room. Obviously he was not unattended. Meanwhile, we spent hundreds of dollars at the pool the day prior and received no phone calls and no complaints. We were also paying the fee for our dog to stay. Have stayed numerous places with our little guy and NEVER had a problem. At. Regis Bal Harbour, Westins, etc. should have stayed at the Westin across the street. No pet fee and truly dog friendly. We will not be back and decided not to spend a dime more at the pool bar and restaurant. We get that the hotel has to consider the comfort of all guests. But our comfort was not considered here at all and we were treated quite portly and accused of leaving our dog unattended/our dog barking all night which was simply not true. And this happened not once, but twice on our final day. Again, why were no calls made to us if our dog was barking all night? I think taking the word of exaggerating complaining guests carte blanch was what happened here, despite us remedying the situation and skipping our breakfast. Oh well, plenty of other great and dog friendly properties to stay at! Read less

Amber our cabana girl is fabulous, she made our stay! She is a credit to your organization. Please keep her at all cost! The pool could really use some renovations, but she made sure our stay was special! Thank you so much again for the hospitality!
