Lovely hotel! Service was wonderful from the boys setting up umbrellas on the beach, to the people giving out towels, greeting at the doors and especially the restaurant wait staff. A special shout out to William Schuer, our waiter at Carettas Restaurant.

My wife and I wanted to spend our 10 year anniversary at this resort. I tried to move my reservation because of a blizzard canceling my flight. They told me they would charge me $500 fee and not let me move my reservation. Told me "nothing they can do".

This is a beautiful hotel. We are a family of 5 and couldn’t believe the amount of room we had with 1 room, 2 King beds and a pullout sofa. The rooms and bathrooms are lovely. The views are stunning over the gulf, we were unlucky not to see a full sunset, however, the thunder and lightning over the sea were just as exciting. The pool area is kept… Read more

We recently stayed for 4 nights at the Opal Sands resort in Clearwater Beach. We had 2 rooms; My son, his wife and our granddaughter in one and my wife and I in the other. It was a special treat for all of us since there are less luxurious and less costly options in the same area. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities top rate, the location on the coast ideal. But, not everything went as expected. Rather than detail the issues, I'd prefer to focus on what happened next. The hotel manager got personally involved. He listened to the issues and respected our point of view. He asked for some time to consider a proper response and shortly thereafter called with a fair resolution that we accepted. He also promised to engage with his staff and to use our situation as a training exercise to improve things going forward, Not every stay is perfect, even in the most high end locations. All a customer can ask for is to be heard, respected and treated fairly. Bravo to Opal Sands! Read less

Very clean rooms throughout and pool area although small for the size of hotel it is very well managed, staff also very helpful and valet parking is excellent. Prices at the bar very high but there is a happy hour at the sands bar which was good, we would return in a heartbeat we thought Clearwater beach was the best resort we have visited in Florida. Also Opal Sands is in a different league to the Sheraton we stayed at last time we came here Only slight disappointment was that it is a non smoking hotel but people do smoke on their balconies which if are next to it isn't great for non smokers but overall a really good hotel and very enjoyable trip.
