Our recent girl's stay to celebrate our three milestone birthdays started from the moment we arrived at the valet. Bill, our bellman was very welcoming. We proceeded to the front desk and were met with the warmest smile via Paula. Paula greeted us with a warm welcome and acknowledged our special weekend. We followed Bill up to our room which was a lovely upgraded corner suite. Bill showed us around our suite and explained everything we need to know about the room and our stay, very helpful. We had lunch at the outdoor restaurant which was excellent; visited the pool and were assisted by the lovely Jadyn, very friendly and attended to all our requests. Paula was always available to answer our questions and was so kind. Saturday's dinner was at the hotel's flagship restaurant SeaGuini featuring fresh seafood and homemade pasta dishes. Excellent food and service, the water feature with the bubbles was a delightful surprise. One of us lost a piece of jewelry which we let our concierge, Clark know about. One of the staff members found it and he brought it up to our room personally. If you need any assistance during your stay, we found Clark to be friendly, knowledgeable and kind. We had Bill, our friendly bellman, assist us once again at checkout. We were sorry to say goodbye to the Opal Sands, but rest assured we will be back. The setting is what makes this hotel beautiful but the staff is what makes it great. Thank you Opal Sands and your wonderful staff! Read less

Great hotel with a wonderful location. The staff was fantastic and George the bartender at Sea Giuni was phenomenal! He helped us out on numerous occasions and made our stay so much fun. Only downside is the beach is not private and got fairly crowded. Highly recommend and I expect we will be back.

Relaxed at Opal as a little honeymoon treat and it was spectacular! The pool had a fun vibe and the food at SeaQuini was delicious…Katie made us feel very special! Katie is fabulous and attentive. If it was an option to choose your waitstaff, we would pick her every time. Thank you Opal and Katie for making this an honeymoon we won’t forget!!

Booked a weekend getaway on the resort’ s website. Upgraded to a “Gulf front” room. Upon arrival, I found that the room was a partial side view with water views from the balcony. I went down to the desk to address and was told that I had booked “ gulf view” rather than “ gulf front”. I went to review my emailed confirmation and did see that it described gulf view but the room charge was the cost of gulf front. So the room was hanged but not the price? I spoke to Duane Duarte the manager on duty describing my dilemma. He was not only of no help or compassion, but argued with me at the desk for 10 minutes that I got what I booked regardless of the price I was charged. We went back and forth and rather than appeasing me by going on the computer and then saying we have no rooms, he wouldn’t budge. No consideration whatsoever. Not an appropriate way to placate customers paying a significant rate for the weekend. On top of that, the floor and hall I was put on was undergoing construction which started early in the morning through the weekend. The facility was otherwise wonderful but the initial interaction soured the entire weekend. Not the way to service customers at a high end resort. Gave them a try, not won’t be back. Read less
