The whole hotel was fantastic, from the initial valet experience, check in and the room. To the pool bar, the restaurant and the staff it was all 10/10. I would highly recommend the food, we had the short rib which was to die for. A special shout out to the bar staff at the pool bar, Alyssa was there our full time and was one of the best bar tenders I’ve ever experienced. On to the legendary Nick, who knew everyone and was just a great guy. Everyone else was amazing but those two were unreal! Read less

We had such an enjoyable time here at the Opal Sands on Clearwater Beach. Yes, the accommodations were expensive, but if you're looking to treat yourself for a special occasion, then spurge. We ended up with a corner suite on the tenth floor (Room 1019) that had views from three sides (overlooking the Pool and Gulf, and the Beach highway. We were able to spot dolphins easily from our room. Service was great. Each floor has it's own snackbar, and the hotel brings up fresh baked cookies every day. Rather than an ice machine, the floor has its own small freezer that the hotel keeps stocked with small bags of ice, just enough for your ice bucket. The pool was heavenly. Noye the deepest it gets is 4' and both ends of the pool are walk in at a casual, convenient slope. They have a nice large hot tub that could easily handle 12 people. Stairs lead down to the beach. Valet was expensive at $40 a night, but their service was fast and personal. We did eat at the hotel's restaurant for breakfast every morning. If you love grits, they have great grits. If you love avocado toast, my wife had it every morning and says that next to what she had in Amsterdam, these were the best. Read less

Very disappointed. I called in advance to see if my girlfriend could check in without me. They said sure just make sure she has the credit card you used. Well she is there now and Alexis the manager will not check her in. She said that she didn't tell me that she could check in and that it isn't her problem. I'm in a conference and can't get there… Read more

Well she is there now and Alexis the manager will not check her in. She said that she didn't tell me that she could check in and that it isn't her problem. I'm in a conference and can't get there late. Apparently I have to be there. When corporate policy isn't practical and you don't make attempts to accommodate people is when your brand starts to suck. Way to start our vacation Alexis Read less
