We stayed at this hotel via a Virgin Holidays booking from the UK. All was well organised and went smoothly. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given wristbands and a keycard for our room number 413, top floor gulf view room. Our room was spacious and clean, and met all of our expectations. A comfortable bed, and plenty of hanging space and storage. Kitchen facilities were limited but for our needs adequate. Bathroom and shower were excellent and clean. The hotel is well situated for Johns Pass, being two blocks away. Nearby was a convenience store, and two nice places for breakfast, Lisa's cafe and Sweet Brewnette. We went there because they both open before 10am, which is opening time for most places on the Pass. We made a decision not to rent a car, a decision we did not regret. Local bus services to St Petes Beach, St Petersburg and Clearwater run right by the hotel and run until late in the evening. The fare for two seniors, all day on the bus was five bucks. Very useful for trips to Publix on Treasure Island also. Being without a car meant that we had a taxi from Tampa Airport to the hotel, which did not take too long and cost a hundred bucks including the tip. We went back to TPA with Kennys Airport Transfer, for the same amount, in Kenny`s very nice Lincoln Town Car, arranged by the receptionist at the hotel. Hints. We upgraded to a gulf front room, and were very glad that we did. When the pool area became a bit too lively for us we were happy to use the beach, which is a few steps away. The cabanas on the beach cost 35 bucks a day, and are good value. We would advise people to opt for a room on the gulf side of the resort, the road outside the hotel is busy and noisy at times. Eating out is no problem, numerous places to eat are two blocks away on the Pass. Can recommend Boardwalk Grill and Sculleys. Overall impression. A nice place to stay, with helpful and attentive staff. We would recommend it without any conditions. It was clean and tidy and everything worked. Housekeeping standards are good. Read less

This was a repeat visit for us, last time staying was as a family and before the new block was built. We stayed in the oceanfront original block for 6 nights from which the view was exceptional and we heard very little road noise. I think the rooms in the new block are bigger and fancier but this suited us just fine. The only issues were that the 'kitchen' area was really tiny with hardly enough room for coffee maker and toaster but we managed fine as we ate out most of the time. You can request toiletries and coffee each day but a very small amount of shower gel and only one coffee bag a day were provided so we ended up buying our own. Also no sockets near enough the bed to safely charge a watch/phone and there was a tiny angled shelf in he corner rather than a proper bedside cabinet. The bed was really comfy but on some sort of weird metal frame which clanked loudly when you got out so not great during the night. These are just niggles but we were only staying 6 days so not aproblem. Pool area was really lovely, although could do with more umbrellas as not enough shade. Short walking distance to John's Pass woth shops and restaurants and a few more plus a 7/11 a longer walk in the other direction. On the trolley route to St Pete's and Clearwater All in all a great place to stay Read less

The hotel its self is great and has potential to be marvellous, however reviewing as a brit who paid a lot of money for a holiday, I did expect more. No onsite security, nor any safes which made me feel uneasy. Shower is gorgeous Pool facilities are good but not for children, more for couples who wish for peace and relaxation. Rooms very noisy…you can hear everything above. Great parking. Walkable cafe called sweet brewnette which was gorgeous, worth a visit. Read less
