The hotel

This seaside family-fun hotel has a prime beachfront location, you can take to the sand for a sunbathe, or the sea for some kayaking at ease. A little wander along the beachfront trail will take you to St John's Pass one way, or St Pete's Beach the other (you can also get the free island hopper if it's a bit too hot for walking) so you've got restaurants, bars and shopping in either direction. Back at the hotel the sundeck is a great place to catch the rays and enjoy some family games together. And Wave Zone will keep the kids happy, with more games and a pool table, whilst you grab a drink or a snack at the cafe. When the sun is setting, head to Sloppy Joes for happy hour out on the deck, and no doubt you'll be tempted to stay for dinner with the aroma of fresh seafood around.

Our female photographer was great! We haven’t had family pictures taken like this and she definitely made it a great first-time experience. She worked well with our twins and made the experience fun- even with a storm rolling in! We will definitely use this great amenity again when we come back to visit!

It’s a strange place. We stayed here because the thunderbird next door holds some special memories however that was full so this was the next closest place. We received very warm welcome from Heather on the front desk - she was warm, kind and explained everything. The place itself is very tired, it’s a 50/60’s building and it really shows. That is part of the charm though so if you go into it with your eyes open and enjoy the laid back time capsule you’ll probably enjoy it. The room was clean but old. The elevators are ancient and encouraged us to use the stairs. The pools (2) were clean and well looked after and the free beach ball we got on check in was a nice touch. The beds were very very comfy. Would I stay again? I’m not sure. If they refurbed it all then definitely. If it was cheaper then again, I’d stay. Unfortunately we stayed in a busy period and for the price we paid there are a lot of newer and more up to date options. We returned to treasure island 10 days later and stayed in a more modern property that suited us better, it didn’t have the charm of the oldey worldey properties like Bilmar. I really hope they return it to its former glory and also share the story of how the property came into being. Treasure island is stuck in a time bubble and it’s all the better for it. For me the Bilmar will forever be part of that bubble. Thanks to the team who looked after us and especially to heather who checked us in and found us a parking space! Read less

Very very nice experience! Did all sorts of activities on the resort and at John’s pass. I ended the day with an amazing sunset photo shoot. He did perfect and they came out even better than I imagined. Thank you Brock and the crew at BILMAR for a wonderful vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bilmar Beach Resort. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed. I believe it was updated since our last visit a few years ago. We enjoyed our kitchenette and our balcony. The hotel is conveniently located. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, including the two restaurants located at the hotel. But right across the street are some other options. There is also a Publix a block away and a Walgreens across the street. We did not need to use our car the entire stay. What I appreciate the most about the Bilmar is that you actually get something for the resort fee. You get free bicycles, beach chairs, kayaks, paddle boards, and water bottles all day. I would also like to commend the maintenance staff. We had a minor issue with our bathtub draining and they came immediately to fix the situation. We will definitely return. Read less
