The Vinoy staff accommodated us for an early check in with smile. Honestly , they did everything perfect. Valet , front desk, and bellhop service were helpful and carried themselves well. Housekeeping was friendly , and kept the place immaculately clean. The housekeeping service checks in twice a day. Restaurants had great food. The views are amazing. I am a fan of the amazing historical hotel. Read less

Room type: Premium Bay View Historic THE GOOD: Beautiful historically preserved property. Beautiful floral arrangements in lobby and gorgeous balcony with ample seating. Room: -Great aesthetic. Nice colors. Beautiful bright bathroom. Spacious shower and non-mounted bath amenities. Front desk: -Overall friendly and helpful. Bellhop luggage: -Very nice and helpful. Fellow with glasses works hard and so friendly. Gym: -Excellent, well equipped, open 24 hours. Plenty of machines, resistance bands, kettlebells, free weights, cardio, multiple water stations, sanitizing wipes. Housekeeping: -Perfect. Prompt daily turn-down service. Pool attendants (not Parasol staff): -very helpful in setting up chairs, towels, umbrellas. THE BAD: Room: -Room type too small, no room to store luggage. No conventional drawers to store clothing. -Staff entered room when DND sign was on door, and we were away. -Balcony sealed shut, no access. -Very loud construction noise on floor on Monday. No one alerted us. -Toilet area very small and hard to shut door after entering. Front Desk: -Check-in: we were told someone would call us when room was ready; no one called. -Check-in: employee friendly but persistent with pushing local attractions (after I said I was not interested). -relayed feedback to employee who placed responsibility on me to tell them what they should do with the feedback. Awkward. Hotel Staff: -Often will walk by you and not say hello. Staff should greet every guest they pass. -Car valet people will stand around chatting but not greet you. The Pool: -Party ambiance on weekend; people eating in pool, vaping, using profanity, rowdy children. -Food and beverage: Servers inattentive. Questionable management. Food from Parasol is very average. -Pool temperature is very cold. Lots of complaints from guests. Staff insisting pool is heated to 85F. NOT! -Pool could have used a good vacuuming on second day. Lots of grit/ pebbles on pool floor. Food & Dining: -Paul’s Landing: Lackluster. Food not great. Menu misleading: will say ‘potato hash’ and they serve you home fries. Server confirmed awareness that menu is consistently misleading. Eggs Benedict overcooked. One server scolded me for not ordering a beverage. Another breakfast server (first thing in morning) had a soiled greasy shirt on. Worker spraying pesticide close to us while we were dining outside. -Lottie Café: Really overpriced. $10 for a latte. $5 for a small chocolate truffle. Final Verdict: While the Vinoy excels overall at elegance and guest satisfaction, there is room here for fine-tuning as it pertains to management, food & beverage, consistency, and service standards. I would grant this hotel a 5 out of 5 if it were a 3-star hotel but as an existing 4-star hotel at this price-point, it slightly misses the mark. Read less

Dinner at Paul's Landing was very relaxing after a long day of travel, and the Veranda with cocktails and charcuterie at dusk were magical. Using the Vinoy's ebikes, we traversed old St. Pete, meeting friendly locals and visitors. We especially loved the large, comfortable, quiet room (historic section) with a delightful marble bathroom and the turndown service with restocked espresso and chocolates. Exceeded all expectations in cleanliness service and location. Two negative aspects though. I didn’t find the bed that comfortable. And the one gift shop did not have much inventory. Most was super expensive. It needs a better variety as to what was offered and price point. Front desk and valet staff were exceptional. Susan helped us and concierge staff were welcoming and eager to help. As far as the accommodations- Next time I stay I will request a balcony. The room however was spacious and bathroom also pretty and newer. We loved the food at Paul’s Landing and had breakfast and lunch there. Our waitress Wanda was the best! She couldn’t do enough to please us! The pool was also so enjoyable and a shoutout to Mike who helped fulfill a special drink request! We were truly impressed with all the pool staff! Thanks for a great experience! Read less
