The hotel

Just a 10 minute drive from Tampa International Airport, this hotel is a great place to stop on your journey into the gulf coast, before you head off to one of many famous beaches. Connected by the causeway, there’s easy access to Clearwater, so you can have your feet in that soft white sand in no time. You don’t need to leave the hotel to get views of the water though, watch the bayside sunsets from your room, or whilst dining at the waterfront grill, sipping on your favourite cocktail.

Standard Rooms feature two queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Pool and Bay View Rooms with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Sunset View Rooms with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults. 

Bay View Patio rooms are located on the ground floor with a private patio, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Suites feature a separate living room with sofa bed, wet bar area with mini fridge and microwave, and bedroom with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 6 people.

The shuttle driver Jeff was prompt and friendly! The staff behind the desk (Rubin and Chelsea) were eager to help, full of knowledge and approachability! (Gave me 2 cookies without me asking ;) ) The elevator smelled fresh and sanitized! The room is fantastic! Each department works hard and it shows! Great team here!

Rubin at the front desk was extremely helpful. Got a great room, excellent comfort. Fun to walk to island market and dinner at Bahama Mama. Great Hilton property. Saw dolphins out the window in room 725 with a pool view. Choose that room!

Initially it was awful because the toilet ran all night, so they switched me to a different room but I couldn’t flush this toilet because the toilet handle fell off, the tub wasn’t draining and there were three different types of hair in the tub for this reason and when I pulled the hand towel off the rack, the rack fell off the wall, there was no shower gel in the shower, and there was tape where the electrical outlet should have been so I went to complain to the Director of rooms, Jacob Shepherd who told me they would switch my room again and it would be taken care of when I returned but when I returned I was in the same room but RUBIN switched me to a room on the 10th floor with a water view due to all the inconveniences. Rubin saved his hotel from scoring a ZERO on this review. Thank you Rubin for turning an awful situation into an amazing one!! See you next time!! Read less

We (approximately 20 family members) stayed at the Tampa Doubletree for a wedding. We enjoyed the pool & bar areas and a few used the restaurant. Overall, it was a nice experience. We thought the drink prices were high (13.00 for a glass of wine). The most annoying thing though was the parking procedure was not explained well, so some family had… Read more

We thought the drink prices were high (13.00 for a glass of wine). The most annoying thing though was the parking procedure was not explained well, so some family had to pay for parking twice. The room keys NEVER worked to get in the parking area, so we would need to call the desk, to gain entry. Read less

After a horrible experience at The Godfrey hotel. My daughter and I went to the double tree and Rubin put me in a beautiful suite. His costumer service was amazing and it truly made my birthday trip a whole lot better!! Thank you Rubin and the Double tree staff !!
