National Hotel

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

A cool cocktail stirring up the best bits of Miami, National Hotel Miami Beach throws in a dash of Art Deco (thanks to its Collins Avenue address); a shot of Miami’s swanky beach scene (thanks to its sand-skirting spot); and a splash of chic poolside glamour (thanks to its headline-grabbing pool). The longest infinity edge pool in Miami Beach, it’s flanked by graceful palms, gorgeous bougainvillea, and serene spots for poolside libations from Aqua Club Bar & Grill. As evening draws in, you can switch to the fresh Med flavours of Tamara Bistro, the tapas and live sounds of Blues Bar, or the buzzing local hotspots along popular Lincoln Road, one block away, and Ocean Drive, two blocks away.

I loved every second of my stay here. Everyone was great but I want to give a special shout out Kory Leon. I can tell that he genuinely loves what he does and is fantastic at it. He gave great recommendations and was readily available every time I had a question or concern. I look forward to coming in a couple months and reconnecting with him!

Hotel and services were excellent! The staff was wonderful, especially Julio Cabo who works in the cabana on the beach. He managed to keep a smile and positive attitude all throughout the hot day and was very accommodating. Will definitely return, thanks Julio!

Rooms were very well equipped with a large bed, great matrass etc. The room isn’t big but there is a massive closet in the room to store all your stuff which was very convenient. Pool bar is wonderful (and so is the food). I just don’t understand why it’s closed in the evening as this could have been the perfect place for after dinner drinks as it has much more atmosphere and class than most bars in Miami beach. Miami hotels charge a resort fee, however Expedia only mentions this AFTER you have finalized your booking. ( $34,95 per person, per day). In our case this meant a 30% on top of what we had already paid. I might stay here again but there are two things that I found very guest unfriendly. 1. On Saturday there was a pool party (external ). We could not use the pool and facilities from noon. I was forced to go to the beach and rent an umbrella ( $20,-). (on top of resort fees) had to walk around with some stupid bracelet to identify as hotel guests. The whole pool area smelt of weed and you were frisked every time you entered hotel. 2. Beach sunbeds are included yet you still have to pay $20,- per umbrella. Read less

Also, Children loved to have a pool open all day, and what a huge pool indeed and despite seasonal thunderstorms, we really enjoyed the beach time as well. In general, the hotel has a good location, very calm for resting and disconnecting and again pretty good service. Dont misssed the music live as well on Sundays!! Only to fix perhaps the elevators that are old, slow and probably not enough for such a good hotel. Will come back again if we have the occasion. Read less
