National Hotel

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

A cool cocktail stirring up the best bits of Miami, National Hotel Miami Beach throws in a dash of Art Deco (thanks to its Collins Avenue address); a shot of Miami’s swanky beach scene (thanks to its sand-skirting spot); and a splash of chic poolside glamour (thanks to its headline-grabbing pool). The longest infinity edge pool in Miami Beach, it’s flanked by graceful palms, gorgeous bougainvillea, and serene spots for poolside libations from Aqua Club Bar & Grill. As evening draws in, you can switch to the fresh Med flavours of Tamara Bistro, the tapas and live sounds of Blues Bar, or the buzzing local hotspots along popular Lincoln Road, one block away, and Ocean Drive, two blocks away.

Luxurious, Hospitable, Accommodating.....The staff thought of everything. The boutique hotel captured the mood of the art deco period while bringing the party ON! The food was also amazing!! We can't wait to return.

Decided to check out this hotel on a 3 week stay in Miami, we were a total of 3 couples. I want to start by by thanking Paul who took care of our luggage and German they were both very nice. Extremely disappointed, not impressed with the hotel. I visit Miami several times a year and stay from 10 days to 3 weeks at a time. To the management of this hotel you need to step up the game. This is my 5th stay in Miami since May and your hotel has been the most disappointing. Visiting other hotels like The Palms Hotel and Spa, Nautilus, Sagamore, Marriott, Trump International Resort and some other ones they have really provided us with a 5 star service. I must say that the lobby and pool area are extremely beautiful. My issue is I shouldn’t have to leave my home and go into a hotel and have to be calling maintenance to fix all the issue with room #1702. The cabana that I stayed at didn’t reflect the beauty and comfort that you see outside. For over $400 a night I was expecting a room that didn’t have any issues. There is a $43 resort fee which is the norm in South Beach, but what made me really upset was that on top of that I had to pay another $19 for a beach umbrella. The wifi is terrible, the chairs and beach lounge chairs were disgusting they need to be replaced and the beach towels were so small, thin, rough, very small and stained. Such terrible amenities. The balcony door was hard to close. We got stuck in the elevator, thankfully they were able to get us out pretty quickly. Our room was spacious and so was the balcony. The view out of the window is an ugly wall of the building next to the hotel, in the balcony I had a pool view and a pick a boo of the ocean. The shower faucet was damaged, it was really hard to regulate the water which it was extremely hot most of the time, the hand held shower was broken also. The shower walls are made of a cheap material, the shower has seen better days. Shower floor looks dirty and old. Some of the bathroom walls were so dirty, they need to be painted. In the bathroom the paint is coming off in certain areas. The towels have seen better days, they were rough . There was only one hook in the whole bathroom, I had to hang the robes and other towels in the closet and there’s only one tiny towel racks under the sink. Low lighting in the bathroom and sometimes it would start flickering. Their shower gel, shampoo and conditioner smelled terrible. Room was too dark for me at nights, chipped furniture. Bed was comfortable, good mattress, pillows and bedding were good. The mini fridge kept our beverages very cold, the smart TV was great. Large walk-in closet. At the beach area don’t even bother asking for a cup of ice or even tap water because unless you buy something they won’t give it to you, apparently they’re are not allowed to. I couldn’t wait to leave this hotel that’s how frustrated I was. I don’t understand why the management of this hotel doesn’t fix these issues before renting this room. No ceiling fan in the room. If you want a late checkout good luck with that, I was told by front desk they only allow a small number of check outs a day and you have to call by 7am to see if you made it to the list of 5 rooms that they allow per day. In all the travels that I have done and all the countries I’ve visited I’ve never heard something so ridiculous. Didn’t eat at their restaurant because I have my favorite restaurants in South Beach which is Tapelia, Taverna and Garcias. Read less
