National Hotel

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

A cool cocktail stirring up the best bits of Miami, National Hotel Miami Beach throws in a dash of Art Deco (thanks to its Collins Avenue address); a shot of Miami’s swanky beach scene (thanks to its sand-skirting spot); and a splash of chic poolside glamour (thanks to its headline-grabbing pool). The longest infinity edge pool in Miami Beach, it’s flanked by graceful palms, gorgeous bougainvillea, and serene spots for poolside libations from Aqua Club Bar & Grill. As evening draws in, you can switch to the fresh Med flavours of Tamara Bistro, the tapas and live sounds of Blues Bar, or the buzzing local hotspots along popular Lincoln Road, one block away, and Ocean Drive, two blocks away.

We stayed here with a group for the CFB National Championship game. This was the second time we’ve stayed at the National and it didn’t disappoint! We knew some things would be different due to COVID but honestly it didn’t affect our enjoyment. We stayed in a cabana suite on the 3rd floor and the view was really nice. We spent most of our time at the heated pool - it was SO warm! The pool area does get a lot of shade and could be a bit chilly, wished there was a little more sun but I’m sure I’d feel differently come summer! Drink and food service by the pool was outstanding! Thank you to Darwin, Andres and Johanna for taking care of our crazy bunch!! The prices are a bit high and food choice is a bit limited but all was so tasty and of a high quality! There was no room cleaning service due to COVID which wasn’t a big deal as we were only there 3 nights. They brought new towels when we asked. One thing I would suggest is to add more/larger trash cans and trash bags to the rooms. They filled quickly and we didn’t always have a spare shopping bag to gather and empty them. Overall we had a great little getaway from the gray skies of Ohio, even if our Bucks didn’t get the win. Also, big thanks to Paul at the front door - he kept our bags for us, gave us directions and always greeted us with a great (masked) smile and wave!! Hopefully we’ll be back again sometime! Read less

I grew up in Miami Beach, literally 3 buildings down from the National, and I have seen first hand all the changes through the years. The hotel has aged beautifully. Amenities were great, the 211 feet lengthy pool (1 of 2) has been a favorite of mine as long as I can remember, food exquisitely crafted, but what prompted me to write this review, was the the care of the staff, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond to make your vacation exceptional. -From Reservations; Luciana was amazing and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and delivered beautifully. -From Reception; Luis at Front Desk handled his duties effortlessly, and made me feel as if I was returning home to my own private estate. -From the Restaurant/breakfast terrace: Joana, the quintessential service provider who goes out of her way to accommodate others. My stay was superb and the team mentioned made it so. In a time where I believe we are all in need of true R&R, the importance of quality service is paramount, and is What I expect from any top rated Hotel. Happy to say it's what I received, and I'm sure you'll do too. Don't hesitate to book. Enjoy Francois Damian. Read less

The website said this place was kid friendly and there was chicken fingers on the hotel menu and many reviews said it was kid friendly. The receptionist said they were trying a new “concept”! He said the hotel was 18+. I told the man that “that’s kind of dumb” and he said “I’m European and that’s offensive”. The funny thing about that is my mother is 100% European and she said the man was full of crap. Idiot Read less

We just celebrated our anniversary with four days at The National and hitting some great local restaurants. The staff was friendly and attentive, the room clean and comfortable and the grounds beautiful and well maintained. Overall great effort in light of recent challenges!

Jan 6, 2021 forcmu Mt. Pleasant, MI

Received a handicapped room for a regular prices room. The room flooded every shower and the sink was inconvenient for toiletries. Not what I would expect for $575 per night. Will not likely stay again.
