Me and my wife checked into Avanti on August 15th, and in the past, we have had wonderful stays here, including a point where we lived there for 5 months in 2022. New management and owners have taken over the hotel, and it since has gone downhill. When we checked into our room, we found that it wasn't clean. The bed was made, but the room was still dirty, including grime and dirt on the blinds. I called the front desk, and they had cleaned our room. While we had experienced some issues during our stay, the biggest issue and most concerning issue is that I had gone to extend our room reservation, and prior to going to the Front Desk, I had called them to let them know I was coming to the lobby to do so. While I was at the lobby, we had our Do Not Disturb sign on our door. My wife had informed me that a maid had knocked on our door, said "Housekeeping", and then immediately came in the room. My wife had tried to inform them she was getting dressed. After this, when I got back to the room, they came back and had asked if we were checking out, which suggested there was a lack of communication between the front desk and housekeeping. This had happened at least TWICE during our stay. Other times, we had requested housekeeping, and they would literally just make the bed and not give us new sheets, etc. It was also very hard for the Housekeepers to understand us, as most of them did not speak English. Another issue we experienced at the hotel was a constant smell of Cannabis, especially coming through our vent in the room, and I believe maybe next door as it was very strong. My wife had called the front desk about this, and they gave us a can of air freshner. Security didn't fully investigate the issue. Not only could we smell it in our room, but people would be smoking it at the POOL. This wasn't really something we had to deal with in 2022 when we were living at the hotel. Furthermore, the pizza in the Cafe didn't taste very well at least for 3 times that we had it. A few of the times, it was lacking sauce, so then we learned to ask for Extra Sauce, which helped the pizza taste better. Also, my wife went Barefoot into the Cafe (We have a Doctors Note of why we go Barefoot. We go barefoot due to health & religious reasons), and someone in the Cafe decided to say it was illegal and against Health Code to go Barefoot, which is NOT TRUE. (I have a letter from the Health Department to back this up). You may check out barefootislegal.org also for documents relating to Florida. This was Discrimination by the Cafe. I will say the nicest staff members at the Bar / Cafe are Cesar and Jeffrey. They REALLY do care about the guests! While I commend the Front Desk staff for attempting to work with us on the rate as we were at the hotel for 20 nights in total, I am not happy with the overall Customer Service, especially as the Director of Housekeeping never reached out to us about the Invasion of Privacy when the DND was on the door. We are also looking into an issue that happened with a Payment, which may have been on our part, but I'm not sure yet. We had extended our room, and the payment had said "APPROVED" when we extended. The front desk refreshed our keys, and then the day we "checked out", the Front Desk called my wife and said the payment wasn't approved. The hotel didn't "Hard Charge" the card on the day I extended. A member of our Church was working on taking care of the Payment, and apparently, protocol had changed. I had offered the chance for me to go to Walmart and get the money, and the GM had said, because of complaints (I'm guessing because of the issues we had), he said "We feel you are not a good fit to be here", and sent a bellman and Security to help us pack. Again, I'll be looking into this, but the GM could have been more understanding and worked with us. Through the day of the Check out, the Director of Housekeeping never contacted us to confirm if they fully investigated the "Do Not Disturb Sign" issue. We used to consider Avanti International as our second home, and I always loved staying at the hotel....however, over the last 2 years, the hotel has gone downhill. I'm hoping that we can resolve the issues at hand from this stay, and when the property has a better standard of Housekeeping, and fixes their problems, we can come back. Until then, we won't be back. It hurts my heart to have to write this negative review. I hope Paramount Hospitality will fix this hotel up. Read less

Brit’s in town , reserving beds and tables and no one at them, covering there options by getting the few tables reserved and sunbeds when people without them would like to use them . Also reserving more than they need, over the years it’s been great that no one reserves and we’re respectful. Guess it’s turned into Spain , Majorca and Turkey

Biggest issue is getting the $100 deposit refunded, I paid $20 for a late check out so was due a refund of $80 dollars, despite several emails to the hotel still nothing, i left the hotel on 11th July!! Yesterday I received an email from a company called Paramount hospitality management asking me to check with my card provider I paid the deposit on (Amex) i spoke to Amex this morning who told me they have not received and funds for $80 and asked me to contact the hotel again!! Please be careful booking this hotel, I did through Virgin holidays and am surprised they are using this place. I will now speak to Virgin to see if they can help but all rather unnecessary. To add balance, my daughter and her partner who were with us did receive their deposit back shortly after check out which makes this even more frustrating Read less

Very poor standard of accommodation, first room we were allocated was very tired, bath chipped, shower head filthy. Moved to room with refurbished bathroom which overflowed. Rusty fridge, dirty linen, dirty walls. Left after 2 days and headed to Quality Inn, cheaper and better with breakfast included.

It will be at least 20 minutes late however here every single time they arrived early and left bang on time. Cons Lifts were incredibly slow I am just thankful we were only on the second floor. The rooms definitely could’ve done with either a bigger wardrobe or more drawers which could be easily rectified as in our pros section we said generally the rooms were very spacious Overall, there is absolutely nothing majorly wrong with this hotel and we would certainly recommend it Read less
